How and Where to Buy Tickets for Sevilla v Real Madrid

One of La Liga's great traditional fixtures, Real Madrid are faced with an always heated trip to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan as the temperature rises in May.

In the penultimate game of the season, they face a Sevilla side enduring a torrid season, and one that could very well be fearing relegation at that point, and in desperate need of points on their own.

Real Madrid could be in a number of scenarios themselves, with almost all of their title hopes hinging on a win at Montjuic against Barcelona. If they can secure those three points, then Los Blancos will be desperate for a victory themselves, and a trip to Sevilla in that scenario is not exactly an easy ask. Similarly, even though Los Nervionenses have been poor this season, the prospect of ruining a Real Madrid title charge would certainly appeal to Joaquin Caparros, in their last chance to vindicate themselves in front of the home support.

If Real Madrid cannot beat Barcelona, then the trip south will not be a pleasant one either. There is talk that Carlo Ancelotti could already be on his way if that is the case, and it may well be an interim manager in Santiago Solari trying to get Los Blancos right for the Club World Cup. At any rate, what is beyond doubt is that the ingredients are there for a highly entertaining clash.

Barcelona star agrees long-term contract extension

A leading member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has agreed to the terms of a new long-term contract. The player in question? Jules Koundé. France international Koundé is for his part of course fresh off a stellar individual campaign in 2024/25. Thriving from his berth at right-back under the watch of new boss Hansi Flick, the former Sevilla man added a new attacking element to his game, en route to an impressive haul of four goals and eight assists in all competitions. And such exploits, evidently, did not go unappreciated behind the scenes in Catalunya's capital. This comes amid confirmation on the part of market insider Fabrizio Romano that, after a fresh round of negotiatons between the parties: 'Jules Koundé has agreed to sign new deal at Barcelona until June 2030, as expected. Agreement in place with the club and green light from Kounde's camp with Barça director Deco on it.' Conor Laird – GSFN

FIFPRO hit out at FIFA for ignoring players' 'basic needs' and claim footballers fear consequences of speaking out over increasingly demanding schedules

Players concerned about too many games FIFPRO slam FIFA for ignoring their "basic needs" Say many fear consequences of speaking out Follow GOAL on WhatsApp! 🟢📱 WHAT HAPPENED? FIFPRO's general secretary, Alex Phillips, states that many of the 66,000 men's and women's players they represent around the world are concerned about their lack of rest and the sheer number of games they play. She added that there is also a fear of reprisal if they speak their mind on the topic. WHAT PHILLIPS SAID She said: "Players are wary of speaking up because they don't have the power. Individually they might have wealth, the top 1%, but 99% of players don't have power apart from via their union or association. Before the Club World Cup I was speaking to some of the top stars and they were saying they hadn't had a rest for 'X' amount of time, and one said I only get a rest when I get injured. Others were resigned and cynical about speaking up. Then you see some of the same players two weeks later having to record social media videos saying 'we think the Club World Cup is so great' because their employers tell them to do it and it's part of their job. You have this contradictory situation where players can't speak up. They are in an invidious position. They can speak up but it could have consequences." THE BIGGER PICTURE In response, FIFA said it was "extremely disappointed by the increasingly divisive and contradictory tone adopted by FIFPRO leadership". The governing body said in a statement: "The game deserves unity, not division. Players deserve action, not rhetoric. FIFA will move forward together with players and those who really want the best for football. It is up to Fifpro to answer this call." Despite that, players such as Manchester City's Rodri has threatened to go on strike as many have been left exhausted by the increasingly demanding schedule - something that was exacerbated with this summer's Club World Cup. Moreover, FIFPRO were reportedly not invited to a key meeting that FIFA held on player welfare earlier this month, and this has happened before, too. WHAT NEXT? This war of words may continue between FIFA and FIFPRO but unless a solution is found, players are likely to get increasingly burnt out or pick up more injuries that could damage their careers. For example, Club World Cup winners Chelsea won the tournament on July 13, and just 35 days later, their Premier League campaign begins.

Real Madrid Are Set To Rival Paris Saint-Germain For This Liverpool Defender: Decent Fit For Alonso?

In a recent report, journalist Mark Brus claimed that Real Madrid are set to rival Paris Saint-Germain for Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate this summer. It has been mentioned that Los Blancos are keeping a keen eye on the France international in this transfer window. Konate's Impressive Form At Merseyside Last Season Konate enjoyed a decent run of form at the Merseyside club in the previous campaign when he put in a string of impressive performances at the heart of their defence. The 26-year-old made 42 appearances for Liverpool last season, scoring two goals and earning two assists in various competitions. The French talent was a solid presence on the defensive end of the field as he made 40 tackles, 29 blocks and 17 interceptions in the Premier League. He was even accurate when distributing possession from the back after completing 90.2% of his attempted passes in the English top flight (stats via His current contract at the Merseyside club will run out at the end of next season which could open the door for Los Blancos to sign him on the cheap this summer. LONDON, ENGLAND – APRIL 06: Ibrahima Konate of Liverpool controls the ball during the Premier League match between Fulham FC and Liverpool FC at Craven Cottage on April 06, 2025 in London, England. (Photo by) Is Konate A Decent Fit For Real Madrid Boss Xabi Alonso? Konate loves a tackle and has got the pace to make some recovering runs at the back when required. He can sense the danger well to make some timely interceptions for his side inside his half. The French sensation usually clears his lines when the opposition are on the offensive and is even proficient at playing his way out from the back. Standing at 1.94m, he can use his towering frame to dominate the opposition attackers in the air. We can expect Konate to add more bite and steel to Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso's defence. He is good enough to nail down a regular first-team spot at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium next season. At 26, Konate has his peak years ahead of him which makes him a great fit for Los Blancos to consider in this transfer window. However, he might need some time to adapt to life in La Liga football. Still, Alonso would be wise to try everything in his power to lure him to the Madrid club ahead of the new season.
