‘90s heartthrob David Charvet reveals why he fled Hollywood after ‘Baywatch' fame
Former 'Baywatch' star David Charvet walked away from Hollywood to work in construction — and has no regrets.
'I don't miss the fame,' Charvet, 53, told People. 'I don't miss the workload that we had because we used to work a lot, and it's very hard to raise a family that way. I commend all of the actors who have families that are able to balance that.'

Charvet famously dated 'Baywatch' co-star Pamela Anderson, 58, in 1992. The French born actor was on the show from 1992 to 1995, playing Matt Brody.
'I miss the camaraderie that I had with the people on the sets,' he told the outlet. 'I had old-school producers and old-school people that worked as a unit, and it was a real family.'
In the 2017 'Baywatch' movie, Zac Efron played that character.

After 'Baywatch,' Charvet was on 'Melrose Place' from 1996 to 1998. He also appeared on shows like 'Seduced and Betrayed' and the 2009 ABC reality show 'The Superstars' and briefly had a music career in France.
Charvet tied the knot with actress and model Brooke Burke in 2011, and welcomed daughter Heaven, now 18, and son Shaya, now 18, before they divorced in 2020.

The actor fled Tinseltown to focus on his construction business, Jones Builders Group, because he wanted to spend more time with his family.
'It was one way for me to leave Hollywood and to still be creative,' he told the outlet about his business, which builds luxury homes in Los Angeles.
'It was also one way for me to ensure that I would be home every morning and home every night so that I could raise my two children.'

The former '90s heartthrob said he noticed that films and TV shows were increasingly being made outside of LA, which would have taken him away from his loved ones.
'The goal was when I got my children, when they were born, was that I was going to be hands-on. I promised Brooke that I would be that man,' he explained. 'I wouldn't change anything.'
'I have to say that what I've experienced with my kids and what I've experienced in the last 17 years has definitely made me a better man,' Charvet continued. '[It] has made me understand what it is to have real relationships and be able to treat people kindly and have more of a humble approach in life.'
'Baywatch' ran for 11 seasons from 1989 to 2001. The show also starred David Hasselhoff, Jeremy Jackson, Yasmine Bleeth, the late Michael Newman and Nicole Eggert.

Taylor Rooks Confirms Drake Was Talking About Their Conversation In Unreleased 'Supermax' Track, X Connects The Jack Dorsey Dots
Source: Getty Images / PhotosByBeanz / Drake / Taylor Rooks Taylor Rooks has something to say about Drake's bars, mentioning her on the unreleased track 'Supermax.' On Friday, Drake had the internet talking when he dropped several unreleased tracks during a live stream as part of the unusual rollout for his forthcoming album Iceman . In one of the tracks, 'Supermax,' Drake mentioned a woman named Taylor who blessed him with some good advice during a night out. 'I was talking to Taylor over drinks, and it was getting deep / 'Not everyone can handle this pressure and, in the city, you're the national treasure,' that's what she said to me,' Drizzy raps. Rooks seemingly confirmed that she was the Taylor that the 6 God was referencing in the song when she shared an Instagram Story post featuring a screenshot of the Iceman Episode 1 stream with the caption, 'That's what she said to me,' directly quoting the song. Immediately, fans began speculating about the sports reporter and the Hip-Hop star's 'friendship' and even started bringing up former Twitter owner Jack Dorsey's old tweets in support of Kendrick Lamar during his feud with Drake. It has long been rumored that Dorsey and Rooks dated each other, but neither has confirmed that to be the case. 'Supermax' wasn't the only song that had fans' ears perked up. His 'Iceman' lead single, 'What Did I Miss?' also had the streets talking, with many believing Drake took shots at his former friends, speculating he either had bars for LeBron James or DeMar DeRozan. We only expect more subliminal disses to be a part of this album rollout as this Iceman project is seemingly shaping up to be Drake's way of getting back at those he feels betrayed him. You can see more reactions to 'Supermax' lyrics below. Kate Middleton joins royals to welcome French President Emmanuel Macron for state visit
Kate, the Princess of Wales, joined her husband Prince William, King Charles III and Queen Camilla on Tuesday as they kicked off France's state visit to the U.K. The royals gathered at RAF Northolt in Windsor, England, to welcome French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte, at the start of their state visit. Kate stood out at the welcome ceremony in a pale pink Christian Dior jacket and skirt, marking the first time she is believed to have worn the French designer at a public engagement. She accessorized with a matching hat by Jess Collett, earrings that belonged to the late Princess Diana and a pearl necklace from the collection of the late Queen Elizabeth II. Kate attended the welcome ceremony just a few weeks after missing the Royal Ascot races in June as she continues to make a gradual return to public engagements since announcing in January that she is in remission from cancer. Kate has not shared details of the type of cancer with which she was diagnosed, though she has shared she underwent chemotherapy treatment. The mother of three recently opened up about her recovery from cancer, describing the experience as a "roller coaster" in a conversation with patients and staff at Colchester Hospital in Colchester, England. "You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism, through treatment. Treatment's done, and it's like, 'I can crack on, get back to normal again,' but actually, that phase afterwards is a really difficult time," she said during the July 2 visit, according to the U.K. Press Association. "You're not able to function normally at home as you were perhaps once used to." Kate first announced her cancer diagnosis publicly in March 2024. She spent most of last year out of the public eye, and has gradually returned to public engagements over the past several months.
