OG&E warns new scam shows wrong phone number on Google
'Unfortunately, we see this a lot with customers where someone on the phone will demand payment or they will shut your service off, and out of fear, they go ahead and pay over the phone,' said Carson Cunningham, the Senior Communications Specialist at OG&E.

If you need to pay a bill, the company reminds customers to go directly to OGE.com/PaymentOptions to pay a bill online or visit OGE.com/ContactUs for verified OG&E phone numbers.
They also said scammers thrive on urgency so be alert if something seems out of the ordinary.
'They prey on that 'OG&E is going to come turn your service off because you're a little bit behind on your bill',' said Cunningham.
OG&E said, before you call them, make sure the number is legit just in case. They also said in addition to the numbers listed on their 'Contact Us' page, there is a number on your bill that is verified as well.
Another helpful tip is to ask the person on the phone questions about your account if you think it's a scam. Some things to ask for are your account number, the date of your last payment, and the employee identification number.

Protect Your Personal Information
If you aren't expecting a call from OG&E or any other utility, be cautious of sharing or confirming financial information with anyone initiating contact with you.
This includes, among other items, Social Security number, date of birth, banking account details, and debit or credit card numbers.
Take Your Time
If someone calls, approaches you in person, or emails you saying you must pay your bill immediately to avoid disconnection, verify that they are a legitimate utility company representative by calling a verified number for the utility company before giving them money or sensitive information. Visit OGE.com/ContactUs for verified OG&E phone numbers.
While a scammer will discourage you from hanging up and calling the number on your utility bill, a real utility representative will encourage you to do so.
Check For Previous Notices
Customers with delinquent accounts receive advance disconnection notification included with their regular monthly bill—never a single notification shortly before disconnection.
Ask Questions
Ask the person calling you or visiting you in person to provide you with your account number, your last payment amount, date of payment, and their employee identification number.
Pay Your Utility Only
Never make a utility bill payment to any person calling you on the phone, coming to your door, texting you, or emailing you.

Woman accused of using at least 20 aliases to pose as nurse
A woman was arrested after allegedly using at least 20 aliases to pose as a registered nurse (RN), licensed practical nurse (LPN) and registered nurse supervisor to care for patients at rehabilitation and nursing homes across Pennsylvania, state police said. Shannon Nicole Womack, 39, was charged with 43 counts, including endangering the welfare of a care-dependent person, identity theft, forgery, procurement fraud, use and possession of drug paraphernalia and falsely pretending to hold a license, according to Pennsylvania state court records reviewed by USA TODAY. According to Pennsylvania State Police, Womack allegedly secured nursing positions through staffing agencies by "submitting fraudulently signed documents and also by creating a false LLC to deploy herself to jobs." Reports indicate she worked at each of these nursing jobs for "only a short time," police added. The belief is that Womack began the "pattern of racketeering" in 2020 and continued to pose as nurses across many different states on the eastern side of the country, the department said. "During that COVID time, they got hit hard, and they needed help," Pennsylvania State Police trooper Rocco Gagliardi said at a news conference. "So it wasn't uncommon for these different residence locations, agencies, to reach out to host agencies and say we need some extra shifts filled. That started in 2020, and it was such an easy transition; she just kept going after that." As of Wednesday, July 23, court records did not indicate Womack had legal representation. How was Shannon Womack arrested? Womack, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was arrested on Monday, July 21, according to court records. Her arrest came after troopers conducted a traffic stop in April on a Mercedes-Benz on Interstate 79 in Washington County, police said in a news release. During the stop, Womack handed the troopers a fake ID. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of multiple forms of identification, medications prescribed to different victims, medical documents and numerous pieces of medical equipment, according to the department. The traffic stop led to a monthslong investigation during which authorities said they found Womack was associated with 20 different aliases and seven different Social Security numbers. Morgan Stanley's client-screening faces deeper FINRA probe, WSJ reports
(Reuters) -The U.S. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is investigating Morgan Stanley over how the firm screened clients for money-laundering risks, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter. The probe examines client vetting, risk rankings and related practices across the Wall Street bank's wealth-management and trading operations from October 2021 through September 2024, the report said. FINRA, a non-governmental self-regulatory organisation that oversees U.S. broker-dealers under federal law, is seeking information on U.S. and international clients across Morgan Stanley's wealth unit, including E*Trade, and its institutional securities division, according to the Journal. The regulator has also requested organisational charts, reporting lines and details on the firm's client risk-scoring tool, the report added. Some employees raised concerns that the initial data sent to FINRA was incomplete or inaccurate, prompting the bank to provide additional information after the regulator flagged gaps, the Journal said. A Morgan Stanley spokesperson told the Wall Street Journal the bank has made significant investments in its anti-money-laundering and client-vetting programmes, adding that such regulatory reviews are not unique to the bank and do not indicate problems with its business or controls. Reuters could not independently verify the report. FINRA declined to comment, while Morgan Stanley did not immediately respond to a request for comment. FINRA fined Morgan Stanley $10 million in December 2018 for anti-money laundering compliance failures over a five-year period.
