Eddie Murphy confirms exciting new details of Shrek's Donkey spin-off

Metro2 days ago
Eddie Murphy's Shrek character Donkey is getting his own film, which will be released in 2028.
The 64-year-old is doing voiceover work for Shrek's sidekick in the fifth movie of the DreamWorks animated film franchise, Shrek, which is set to be released on December 18, 2026.
Beverly Hills Cop actor Eddie, 64, revealed work on the Donkey spin-off film – which will see him have his 'own little story with his dragon wife' and their 'half-dragon and half-donkeys children' – will begin in September 2025.
While animation has not begun on the title, he did reveal that voiceover work has begun on the untitled Shrek spin-off.
'We start in September on Donkey; we're doing a Donkey one, and that'll be three years from now, but we're about two years into Shrek 5,' he told Screen Rant.
'Still in the booth and about to start Donkey in September.'
Confirming that Donkey will be a movie and not a TV show, Eddie continued: 'Donkey's going to be like how Puss in Boots had his own movie.
'Donkey's going to have his own movie, own little story with his dragon wife and his kids that are half-dragon and half-donkeys.
'They've written this funny story. We're doing that, starting that in September.'
In February, Zendaya's casting in Shrek 5 was confirmed in the movie's trailer.
The 28-year-old star will be voicing the titular ogre (Mike Myers) and Fiona's (Cameron Diaz) daughter Felicia.
Shrek was first released in 2001 and followed the story of an ogre who falls in love with Princess Fiona before a sequel arrived in 2004.

In 2007's Shrek the Third, it was revealed that Fiona – now married to Shrek – was pregnant, and the latest major instalment, Shrek Forever After, was released in 2010.
And now Eddie has hinted that Shrek 5 will, like the franchise's other movies, be packed with comedy. More Trending
He told the US TV show Extra: 'I've recorded some great stuff. You know, we don't get a full script when we do the Shrek movies. We get the dialogue that we're doing for each session. And I know I've been doing some really funny stuff.'
And Eddie said he will only see his co-stars, including Cameron, 52, and Mike, 62, at the Shrek 5 premiere.
He said: 'At the end of the movie or when the movie comes out, we see each other at the premiere, but we don't see each other the whole movie.
'It's all just you by yourself and a microphone.'

Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson had ‘strangest sex scene' in Naked Gun reboo

Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson have left us all in total confusion over whether or not they are actually dating, after being hit with romance rumours. The pair have shared the screen in the new Naked Gun reboot, which is released in cinemas on August 1, but are rumoured to have taken their chemistry off camera. According to insiders, the Taken actor, 73, and the Baywatch icon, 58, are said to be 'enjoying each other's company' and are clearly 'smitten'. Although they have remained coy about the status of their relationship, they did get up close and personal on the set of their new comedy, with writers Dan Gregor and Doug Mand sharing that it was probably the 'strangest sex scene' the stars had filmed. Speaking to Metro at the New York premiere, they shed light on the most absurd thing they asked Liam – who plays the main role of officer Frank Drebin Jr – to do in the role, Dan didn't hold back. 'This is a spoiler, but he has a great … very strange love scene that I believe has to be the strangest sex scene of his life,' he told us. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video 'Every day was the strangest thing,' Doug recalled. 'Every scene is like, 'Liam Neeson is doing this?'' 'We didn't even have an intimacy coordinator for that, no one knew how to do it,' Dan quipped. Thankfully, there actually was an intimacy coordinator present for the shoot, with one particularly bizarre montage showing Frank and Beth (Pamela) taking their relationship to the next level – where they were joined in the bedroom by a snowman. Despite the absurd set-up, Liam shared that those moments were actually his favourite to film, adding more fuel to the romance speculation. In a photoshoot and interview with You Magazine, where they were reportedly 'all over each other' the Love Actually star admitted that 'the sex scenes' with Pamela were his highlight. Speaking of the coordinator, he revealed: 'I'd never had one before. But she was in the background. There was no kind of, 'Okay, excuse me!'''. 'She knew when to walk away,' Pamela joked, pretending to be an exasperated intimacy coordinator, throwing her hands in the air and storming off, continuing the bit by adding: ''I can't take this!'' 'She said, 'This is too hot for me. I'm going for coffee,'' Liam added, while also referring to his co-star's audition tape as 'incredibly sexy' and 'funny'. Both have remained publicly single over the last few years, with The Last Showgirl star Pamela stating in September that she was 'much happier' on her own, but added that not being in a relationship after five marriages was 'tough'. Meanwhile Liam hasn't seriously dated anyone since his wife, Parent Trap actress Natasha Richardson, tragically died at the age of 45 after sustaining head injuries in a skiing accident in 2009. During a TV appearance on the Today show, they clearly had some fun with the speculation when host Craig Melvin asked: 'What's the deal here? You're both single right now. There's clearly chemistry. Are you two an item?' 'What?! I don't understand the question,' Pamela coyly replied while Liam jokingly shook his head. However, a source shared with People Magazine that they are 'smitten', insisting: 'It's a budding romance in the early stages. 'It's sincere, and it's clear they're smitten with each other.' They added that the stars are 'enjoying each other's company'. 'I'm madly in love with her,' Liam said of Pamela in a previous interview while promoting the film. 'With Pamela, first off, I'm madly in love with her. She's just terrific to work with,' he said. 'I can't compliment her enough, I'll be honest with you. 'No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She's funny and so easy to work with. She's going to be terrific in the film.' Meanwhile Pamela described her castmate as the 'perfect gentleman'. 'He brings out the best in you… with respect, kindness and depth of experience. It was an absolute honor to work with him,' she raved, despite having entered the rehearsal room 'shaking' with nerves, intimidated to meet him. 'Once we got going he's such a gentleman, he's such a sweetheart. He's so giving and generous and we're very complimentary and supportive. You can't help but fall in love with Liam.' Fans' eyebrows are sky-high at this point, with social media flooded with questions over whether they're the real deal. 'Are they in love or something?' asked @kingshagrin. That is the question. Their overtly flirty interviews could be part of a whole marketing campaign for The Naked Gun, their sequel to slapstick 1980s and 90s comedy of the same name. In it, Liam plays head of the police squad Frank Drebin Jr who must follow in his father's footsteps and save the world, with Pamela as 'femme fatale' Beth, who goes to the police for help after her brother's murder. A previous promotional video for reboot showed them hamming up their off-screen flirtation, very much tongue in cheek. When asked how they were building chemistry for the role, Liam innocently responded, 'Nothing out of the ordinary,' before a clip showed the pair in various romantic settings which were very much out of the ordinary. More Trending He was shown putting his arm around her in front of an ocean sunset, the duo laughed in a fairy-lit restaurant over spaghetti, and danced in the moonlight, even going so far as doing trust falls. After all these clips played out like a romantic comedy montage, it cut to Pamela sitting next to Liam in the interview setting, as she said: 'Yeah, just the usual.' White House shares 'disgusting' deportation video using Jet2 Holidays meme song

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Donald Trump's White House has posted a video humiliating immigrants being deported with the viral Jet2 holiday jingle. The Administration shared clips of immigrants being forced onto planes out of the US with the Jet2 Hold My Hand mash-up. The X post reads: 'When ICE books you a one-way Jet2 holiday to deportation. Nothing beats it!' The video, which has over 2 million views, shows immigration officers dragging deportees out of vans and parading them onto planes bound for foreign countries. In the background is the familiar Jess Glynn tune, which has spread all over TikTok and beyond and has typically been used to accompany funny vacation disasters. They also show a screenshot of the US government app CBP Home, which is being used to allow immigrants currently in the United States to self-deport. The shocking mockery of the immigrants being deported is then accompanied by a video of Trump smirking and pointing to the camera. The US President came into office in January promising the largest deportation effort in the country's history. Over 15,000 people were kicked out of the country in June alone, with ICE aiming for 3,000 arrests per day. He has also canceled temporary legal status for over a million immigrants, putting them at risk for deportation. The X post, which attempts to praise Trump's migration strategy, was met with shock online. Journalist Will Lancaster said: 'Had to double, and then triple check, at who posted this. More Trending 'It actually IS the official White House page, using a British airline advert trend to boast about deporting immigrants from their country, even including a Trump cameo at the end. 'Lost for words,' he added. Gavin Wilson commented that the video 'is insane'. He added: 'The world is losing its grip on reality.'
