Sohail Adnan secures gold at Asian Jr Squash
Sohail Adnan, a rising squash star and fellow of the BARD Foundation, has once again brought glory to Pakistan by securing the gold medal in the Boys U-13 category at the 32nd Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships 2025, held in Gimcheon, South Korea.
Displaying remarkable skill and determination, Sohail defeated India's Ayaan Dhanuka in a thrilling four-game final with scores of 11-5, 11-2, 11-13, 11-6. His victory marks another major milestone in what has already been an exceptional year for the young champion.
Earlier this year, Sohail made headlines by winning the British Junior Open 2025 (U-13), ending Pakistan's 18-year title drought at that event. His latest triumph in South Korea further cements his place among Asia's top junior squash players.

Meanwhile, Romaisa Malik from Punoo Aqil became the U18 girls champion with a win over Bismal Zia 6-4,6-3 in the final of the event. Romaisa and Bismal also played the girls U14 singles final and Romaisa claimed the U14 title as well. In an exciting final of the U14 boys singles event, Peshawar's Junaid Khan outplayed Lahore's Shahbaz 4-9,1-4,4-2. In an all-Lahore girls' U12 final, Eman Shahbaz defeated Shahnoor Umer 2-4,5-4,4-2. Inaya Sayyed was crowned the women's singles champion as she outclassed Eschelle Asif 8-3 in the final. Ahtesham also won the men's singles event, he won against Lahore's Asad Zaman 8-4. Vice Chancellor Sohail University Syed Adnan Sohail was the chief guest at the closing ceremony. He distributed the prizes worth Rs 150000, tennis balls and trophies among the winners and runners up of various events. Sohail appreciated the efforts of Sindh Tennis Association and offered full scholarship for Tennis players with good standing at Sohail University. Ahmed Ali Rajpoot, Khalid Jameel Shamsi and Muhammad Khalid Rehmani also spoke at the closing ceremony. 230 plus entries were received for this week long championship including 20 male and female out station players from Peshawar, Islamabad, Lahore, Punoon Aqil and Hyderabad. ‘Skills for Life' programme across 15 schools being launched
LAHORE: In a significant step toward empowering children through sports-based learning, BARD Foundation has partnered with Right To Play and CARE Foundation, to launch the 'Skills for Life' program across 15 CARE Foundation-adopted schools. This collaboration reflects the shared mission of all three organizations to improve the quality of education and life outcomes for children across Pakistan by integrating sports-based learning into school environments. Through this partnership, Right To Play will implement its internationally recognized Skills for Life Program, which focuses on fostering social, emotional, and cognitive development in schoolchildren using sports-based learning methodologies. Sponsored by BARD Foundation, the program aims to impact over 4,500 students, including both girls and boys, across primary and middle school levels. The initiative will roll out in key components i.e. POWER and SFD. Play opportunities for wellness and education resource (Power) is a structured sports-based learning model that utilizes play to build foundational skills in children from the primary sections of 5 CARE Foundation schools. The Sport for Development (SFD) is a sports-based curriculum tailored for students in grades 6 to 8 across 10 schools, leveraging sports as a tool to instill leadership, teamwork, emotional intelligence, and resilience. Huzaifa wins ‘8th Borneo Junior Open Squash Championship'
LAHORE: Pakistan's emerging squash sensation, Huzaifa Shahid, has triumphed once again on the international stage by winning the Boys Under-15 title at the 8th Borneo Junior Open Squash Championship, held at the Sarawak Squash Centre in Malaysia. Displaying exceptional skill and composure, Huzaifa defeated Malaysia's Lokkhesh Wigneswaran in straight sets (3–0) in the final, solidifying his position as one of the most promising junior squash players in the region. This latest win adds to Huzaifa's growing list of achievements in 2025, including a Silver Medal at the 21st Penang Malaysian Junior Open earlier this month, and a national title from the Islamabad U-15 National Junior Open earlier this year.
