Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green does two things very well: 1. Defend and 2. Talk. Green is known for his outspokenness. He has never blurted out an opinion he didn't like. He never shies away from speaking his mind, even if it's about a sensitive issue or criticizing an opposing player.
On Thursday, he chimed in on a recent remark of Utah Jazz forward Kevin Love, who said on an Instagram Story: 'So many lames are loudest in the room. And the least accomplished.'
While it's unclear who the 36-year-old Love was pertaining to, it's clear that the 35-year-old Green agreed with him.
'It's a crazy thing,' wrote the Warriors veteran on his Instagram Story, while reposting Love's quote.
Green has been criticized throughout his career because of his in-your-face attitude. Even though he's an accomplished player on the court, helping the Warriors to four championships and being one of the top defenders in history, he's also notorious for his shenanigans.
The video of him punching former teammate Jordan Poole will never be forgotten. He has also been in numerous beefs with fellow players, most notably with Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert.
Green, a former Defensive Player of the Year, has acknowledged his faults and vowed to work on them, including undergoing therapy sessions. Warriors coach Steve Kerr has acknowledged Green as the heartbeat of the team over the years.
Love, meanwhile, is in his final chapter with the Jazz, although there have been rumors that he will be bought out or waived. He has also been one of the more vocal players in the NBA, especially in advocating for mental health.
In March, he called out ESPN host Stephen A. Smith following his much-ballyhooed back-and-forth with Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James. Love and James won a championship together with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016 and have maintained a deep relationship.

Spurs rookie Carter Bryant hit the gym with Klay Thompson, others

San Antonio Spurs rookie Carter Bryant was among the players who recently linked up for a private offseason workout at Academy USA in Glendale, California. Bryant joined the likes of Spencer Dinwiddie, Tari Eason, Kessler Edwards, Evan Mobley and Klay Thompson in the session organized by NBA trainer Olin Simplis. The group was spotted playing 5-on-5 in the video clip by Swish Cultures. The 14th pick was also on the court with Collin Murray-Boyles, who was the ninth overall pick by the Toronto Raptors. The appearance was the first for the two rookies since debuting with their respective teams in summer league. Bryant logged six appearances with the Spurs earlier this month, averaging 7.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 1.2 assists on 28.6% shooting from the field. He wrapped up his stay with a 16-point, five-rebound performance on July 17. The 19-year-old is highly touted for his scoring potential, playmaking and ability to defend multiple positions, traits that were each on display in summer league. He also proved to be a reliable floor spacer after connecting on at least two 3-pointers in 12 games last season at Arizona. Bryant is projected to have the chance to compete for rotation minutes next season for coach Mitch Johnson. The recent opportunity to hit the court with such established players should prove to be a valuable experience heading into this rookie year. Broncos believe linebacker Dre Greenlaw's latest leg injury isn't serious

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — Linebacker Dre Greenlaw pulled up while covering running back J.K. Dobbins in a 1-on-1 drill Thursday, then jogged off the field with the Denver Broncos' athletic trainers and didn't return to practice. Coach Sean Payton said afterward that it wasn't a recurrence of the thigh injury that sidelined Greenlaw this offseason. Payton motioned toward his own hamstring and said Greenlaw felt it tighten up. 'I think he'll be all right,' Payton said while adding that Greenlaw was undergoing further tests. That would be a big relief for the Broncos, who made Greenlaw the cornerstone of their offseason additions when they signed the former San Francisco 49ers star to a three-year, $31.5 million contract. Earlier this week, Payton spoke glowingly about Greenlaw. 'He plays like Mike Tyson,' Payton said. 'He's tough. He's physical. He's built that way. There's not a lot of leaky yardage. He's a knock-back tackler. They stop where he hits them. There's an intensity to how he plays. He's one of those players where if you put the film on and didn't say anything, at some point early you would ask, 'Who is this guy?'' Greenlaw said Payton isn't the first one to compare him to the former heavyweight champion. 'Yeah, I've gotten that before for sure. I don't know, I just like to play football and go out there, and I give it my all,' Greenlaw said Monday following Denver's first padded practice of training camp. 'You never know when it's going to be your last chance on the field, your last chance to play, so you want to make a statement any time you can. I just love doing it and am thankful to be able to do it.' Greenlaw played in just a couple of games last season after tearing an Achilles tendon running onto the field in the 49ers' 25-22 loss to Kansas City in the 2024 Super Bowl. He and former 49ers star safety Talanoa Hufanga joined the Broncos in the offseason despite strong efforts by San Francisco coach Kyle Shanahan and general manger John Lynch to keep them in the Bay Area. Greenlaw said he wanted to join Denver's stellar defense, which also added versatile defensive back Jahdae Barron in the first round of the NFL draft. 'They've had one of the best defenses for quite some time now. I know last year they really took that up a notch, and I just wanted to be a part of that,' Greenlaw said. 'I wanted to be where I was accepted, where I was wanted and this is the right place for me.' Middle linebacker Alex Singleton broke his left thumb on Monday and won't be back until next week, so after Greenlaw left practice, the Broncos' front-line inside linebackers were undrafted rookie Levelle Bailey and veteran Justin Strnad. Greenlaw said he's eager to play alongside Singleton when both are healthy. 'That's what I also looked into when I came here, just to see what type of leaders are on the team,' Greenlaw said. 'Alex is a vocal guy when he needs to be. He's also a tackling machine. ... He's somebody that's going to give it all he's got every play. I saw that in Alex that I see in myself, so I thought this was going to be a great little duo.' ___ AP NFL:

Aussies pip big guns in stunning scenes as Mollie O'Callaghan equals swimming legend

Mollie O'Callaghan has equalled Australian swimming legend Ian Thorpe's record of 11 gold medals at the world championships after anchoring her nation to victory in the women's 4x200m freestyle relay. The Aussie quartet of Lani Pallister, Jamie Perkins, Brittany Castelluzzo and O'Callaghan stormed home to claim gold ahead of their fierce rivals from the USA, with China claiming bronze. While O'Callaghan finished off the relay superbly to see Australia clock a winning time of seven minutes, 39.35 seconds (7:39.35), it was an extraordinary third leg from Castelluzzo that set up victory. After trailing American Erin Gemmell by a full body length, Castelluzzo surged ahead in the final 50m to give O'Callaghan a slender advantage going into the decisive final leg. The Aussie champion still had her work cut out against American icon Katie Ledecky, and clearly looked tired after her swims in the 100m freestyle heat and semi-final earlier in the day. But O'Callaghan managed to hold off the greatest female swimmer of all time to seal a remarkable win for the Aussie team, who were missing two of their Paris Games gold medallists. Brianna Throssell called time on her career after Paris and four-time Olympic Games gold medallist Ariarne Titmus missed the meet after deciding to take a break from swimming. But the new-look team picked up where the Aussie golden girls had left off, with O'Callaghan cemented her status as one of the nation's greatest ever swimmers. "It's everything to me," O'Callaghan said after the relay win left her with three gold medals at these world titles. "I take any opportunity to come and do this event. "I knew I had to lift for this. I'm always here for the relays. "It's a great privilege because it shows the depth that we have. It just shows the depth coming through to LA [the 2028 Olympics], and to start off like this is just incredible." O'Callaghan's wins in the 200m freestyle, as well as the 4x100m and 4x200m freestyle relays, saw her equal Thorpe's national record of 11 golds at the worlds, and she could overtake the Aussie legend with a 100m freestyle final and more relays to come. "Actually, I haven't really thought about it too much," she said about Thorpe's record. "Coming off [the] Olympics last year and having the downs of the break and the post-Olympics blues and then injuring myself, it's just been a rollercoaster. And to come along here and to compete in the finals [and] to get golds is just something I wouldn't believe at the start of the year, or last year." Kyle Chalmers claims bronze in lightning 100m freestyle final Meanwhile, Kyle Chalmers' quest to break the 47-second barrier and claim his second 100m freestyle world title came up just short in one of the fastest finals of all time. The Aussie star claimed bronze in a time of 47.17 which was quicker than his 2016 Olympic gold medal swim and silver medal effort at the Paris Games. But Romanian sensation David Popovici - who had already won the 200m freestyle - made it a double by swimming the second-fastest 100m freestyle time of all time to claim gold. Popovici's blistering 46.51 was just short of Chinese star Pan Zhanle's world record, with American Jack Alexy taking out silver in 46.92. Chalmers said he'd been 'training hard' and 'desperately wanted' to swim sub-47 seconds but was still thrilled to claim bronze. 'To get on the podium is so special,' he said. 'It's incredible. "It was the fastest race in history to make it through that final, and I really believe that anyone could have won that race. We obviously didn't even have the world's record holder in that race, so it was amazing. 46.5 is insane. Crazy.' with AAP
