Entergy Is Driving Economic Growth in Gulf South Region, CEO Tells Shareholders at Annual Meeting
"Fundamentally, we believe all our stakeholders have a bright future ahead, and Entergy is championing a better future through fostering growth within our service area and investment in cleaner, more reliable and more resilient energy," said Marsh.
Entergy is focused on initiatives to improve outcomes and deliver value for all our stakeholders, including capturing customer growth, resolving key regulatory priorities, creating opportunities for employees, making the energy grid more resilient, continuing to enhance our restoration response for our communities, furthering progress on renewable energy, and building generation resources to meet customer-driven needs.
Marsh highlighted several business achievements in 2024:
"We continued to see strong industrial customer growth, fueled by the competitive advantages of our region. Last year, both Entergy Mississippi and Entergy Louisiana signed electric service agreements with hyperscale data center customers. These new customers bring significant value to our stakeholders, including good jobs, infrastructure improvements and tax revenues for our communities."
"Driven by customer interest, we continued to make progress in advancing renewable energy and other clean technology solutions. We brought more than 700 megawatts of solar resources online last year."
"Our commitment to corporate social responsibility had a positive impact in 2024, resulting in an economic impact of over $153 million for our customers and communities. Our dedicated employees played a pivotal role in our economic impact, contributing more than 122,000 hours of volunteer service valued at more than $4 million across our service area."
Serving as a founding partner of the New Orleans Super Bowl LIX Host Committee, Entergy strengthened our stakeholder engagements leading up to the big game. "In partnership with the Host Committee, the New Orleans Saints, the NFL Foundation and other philanthropic organizations, we created the charitable legacy program, Impact 59 Powered by Entergy. Through Impact 59, we awarded more than $3.5 million in impactful grants to local nonprofit organizations. This program is making a positive impact in the Greater New Orleans community and has left a legacy of philanthropy that will endure long after the Super Bowl ends."
"Finally, we effectuated a 2-for-1 stock split and again delivered strong adjusted earnings per share growth last year, in the top half of our guidance range. We also grew our quarterly dividend per share by approximately 6% and, importantly, we continued to make positive progress on our credit metrics in 2024, which provides financial flexibility as well as long-term customer benefits through lower cost of capital."

Mark Murphy leaving Packers with incredible financial stability
Mark Murphy will retire as president of the Green Bay Packers later this week after delivering both a Super Bowl title and incredible financial stability -- in both the short- and long-term -- to the franchise across 17 years of service. The Packers, the league's only publicly owned team, released their annual financial report for the last fiscal year on Wednesday. Thanks to a ninth regular season game played in Green Bay during the 2024 season and another increase in revenue sharing across the league, the Packers reported an operating profit of $83.7 million, up almost 40 percent over last year. Per the Packers, the team has invested $675 million in upgrades to Lambeau Field and facilities and countless millions more in developing the Titletown area around the stadium in the last 20 years, and the franchise now has a reserve fund of $579 million, up over $40 million from last year. Under Murphy, the Packers have kept Lambeau Field both iconic and modern, vastly improved working areas for players and staff and steadily developed a rainy day fund that will keep the team financially stable in the ever-expanding NFL for years to come. It is a testament to Murphy's leadership that the Packers were able to remain consistently competitive on the field and financially stable off it while operating out of the smallest city in the NFL world. And considering the improvements made to Lambeau Field, the development of areas around it and the investment in players and personnel, the Packers will go into the Ed Policy era at president in extraordinarily good shape as an NFL franchise. In his final monthly post at Murphy hoped he was leaving the Packers in better shape than when he started. The financials leave no doubt.

Vince Carter talks new role as part-owner of the NFL's Buffalo Bills
Vince Carter: Basketball Hall of Fame player, legendary dunker, NBC Sports analyst for NBA games starting next fall... And part-owner of the NFL's Buffalo Bills. Carter was thinking of getting into team ownership, but was thinking more along the lines of the NBA, when Bills owners Terry and Kim Pegula let it be known they were looking to add minority stakeholders. Carter jumped at the opportunity and, at Bill's camp, he talked with Chris Vinel of the Daytona Beach News-Journal about it. 'I've sat with the GM, president, owner, the big boss,' Carter said. 'I've sat with everybody, and we've had conversations, and I just listen and learn. I don't just want to have a name on it. I want to be involved.' 'I'm thrilled to be a part of it,' he said. 'I never imagined in my wildest dreams of being a part of an ownership group in football. Luckily, I played it (until after my freshman year at Mainland High School), so I feel comfortable being in it. But I didn't think this opportunity would come about, and it did.' Carter is not the only minority investor, among the group who bought in is Carter's cousin and fellow basketball Hall of Famer Tracy McGrady (it was McGrady who turned Carter on to the opportunity). They bought into a Buffalo team that is among the Super Bowl favorites — in a tough East with Kansas City and Baltimore — led by MVP quarterback Josh Allen. 'I like what we're doing,' he said. "... Feeling good, feeling confident. Nice pieces that we've drafted and got in free agency.' It's fitting to have Carter owning part of a Buffalo team not far from where he made his name as a player in Toronto — expect to see him at a lot of Bills games this season.

Former Seahawks Star Wagner Joins WNBA's Storm Ownership
Former Seattle Seahawks star linebacker Bobby Wagner has joined the Seattle Storm's ownership group. The 10-time Pro Bowler, who now plays for the Washington Commanders, is the first active NFL player to invest in a WNBA team. Wagner joins a Storm ownership group led by Lisa Brummel, Dawn Trudeau and Ginny Gilder, who launched Force 10 Hoops LLC. The trio purchased the team from Oklahoma City Thunder owner Clay Bennett for a reported $10 million in 2008 when the Supersonics relocated from Seattle and were renamed. More from WNBA All-Star Game Ratings Fall 36% Without Clark Playing Sporticast 468: 'Pay Us What You Owe Us' WNBA Players Say 'Pay Us' as Commish Offers Sunny CBA Outlook As Sportico reported in June, the Storm were last valued at $325 million when they sold small stakes representing roughly 1.5% of the team's equity. The franchise ranks fifth out of 13 teams in Sportico's 2025 WNBA valuations. 'It's a great time,' Wagner told reporters on Wednesday. 'I've watched [the Storm] from afar being in Seattle so I'm really excited to be part of the growth and stay close to a community that I still love.' Wagner, who still lives in the Seattle area during the offseason, spent his first 10 NFL seasons with the Seahawks and helped them win their first Super Bowl in 2014. The 11-time All-Pro linebacker still holds three team records, including most tackles in a single season. The 35-year-old Wagner follows in the footsteps of former Seattle Storm star Sue Bird, another athlete who became a limited partner in the Storm last year. Other notable athletes who have bought stakes in WNBA teams in recent years include former Miami Heat standout Dwyane Wade (Chicago Sky) and former MLB star Alex Rodriguez, who recently was approved to be controlling owner of the Minnesota Lynx. Wagner has previously said that he's inspired by Commanders limited partner and NBA legend Magic Johnson, a mentor figure who also owns a stake in the Los Angeles Sparks. Last year, the Storm opened a $64 million performance center as the franchise looks to stay on pace with the league's ongoing facilities arms race. Wagner, who is entering his second season with the Commanders, has carved out a reputation as one of the most business savvy players in the NFL. After majoring in business entrepreneurship at Utah State, he's currently working toward an MBA from Howard University. He joins the WNBA during a growth period, as an average team is now worth $269 million, according to Sportico's latest WNBA valuations.
