Dr. Jill Underly visits with La Crosse students in honor of Career and Technical Education Month
La Crosse Supervisor of Career and Technical Education, Britta Rotering. Says the school district believes it is important to provide students with many different career learning opportunities, 'We want our students to experience everything that they may have a chance to continue to progress in. We want our students, while they're within our system, to have a safe and comfortable place to be introduced to areas that may be difficult or something that they haven't been exposed to.'
Dr. Underly toured through innovative student programs that cover technology, marketing, consumer sciences and more, she said that La Crosse provides plenty of opportunities to students, 'I'm really impressed by how La Crosse partners with, not just the technical college, but with the employers in the community. They place so many students who are in youth apprenticeships and job shadows with employers here in the community. That is what is going to grow the workforce of our community is this partnership between k-12 and high schools as well as our local employers'
The school district is also pleased to hear about the proposed investments toward education programming. Rotering explains, 'It feels like someone sees us. They hear us. They recognize our needs. They recognize the work that is being done in the k-12 districts, especially with the career pathways. They're standing behind us to advocate with the role and opportunity they have to provide us more of what we need so we can keep providing incredible opportunities to our students, families and community.'
Wisconsin is just one of six states that do not have ongoing funding dedicated to career and technical education programs in public schools. Dr. Underly, Brittany Kinser, and Jeff Wright are running in the nonpartisan primary for Wisconsin's Superintendent of Public Instruction on February 18th. The top two finishers will then run in a General Election on April 1, 2025

Lamborghini's First Personalized Temerario Glows in Grey and Blue
Lamborghini's shift toward electrified supercars continues with the introduction of the Temerario, the Italian marque's all-new plug-in hybrid coupe. The model represents the brand's departure from the Huracán and its long-serving V10 engine, which has been replaced by a more potent and efficient twin-turbo V8 hybrid setup. With the Temerario, Lamborghini completes its transition to a fully electrified product line alongside the Revuelto and the Urus SE. The latest development comes in the form of the first Temerario Ad Personam – a fully customized one-off model created by Lamborghini's personalization division. Revealed in Porto Cervo, Sardinia, during a private gathering, the build draws inspiration from the Mediterranean backdrop and introduces a tailored visual expression of the new hybrid Lamborghini. Dubbed the Temerario Porto Cervo, this one-off example is defined by a finish called Grigio Serget – a grey base that reveals embedded blue flakes under direct light. Gloss black elements in Nero Noctis outline the lower body, front splitter, rear diffuser, and side scoops. A slim pinstripe in Blu Royal provides a color break across the body, also found on the rear wing. Blue brake calipers hide behind Velador gloss black wheels, and matte black quad tailpipes add contrast at the rear. Inside, the blue-grey theme continues. Grigio Octans leather and Corsa Tex upholstery form the base of the cabin, while Blu Nethuns stitching and leather inserts appear across seat panels and door trims. Embroidery includes Lamborghini logos and a Temerario script with Tricolore detail along the cabin's rear wall. A profile of the car is stitched into the doors, while matte carbon trim and a red-detailed carbon steering wheel reinforce the supercar's driver-oriented purpose. Two plaques mark this unit's uniqueness: one reads Ad Personam on the driver-side B-pillar, the other tagged "Porto Cervo 2025" – to be replaced by the owner's custom plate before delivery. The Temerario is powered by an all-new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine paired with three electric motors. The gasoline engine alone delivers 789 hp with a 10,000 rpm redline. With hybrid assistance, total output reaches 907 hp. Power is routed to all four wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic. Lamborghini claims 0–100 km/h in 2.7 seconds and a top speed of 213 mph. The Temerario Porto Cervo is a one-off commission, though Lamborghini's Ad Personam program allows buyers to create similarly bespoke configurations. The standard model's MSRP hovers around $300,000. Pardons, positions and power: Trump's donor list raises questions about pay-for-access in his administration
A new financial disclosure from a super PAC supporting President Donald Trump contains the name of the deep-pocket donors who have gained access to the White House. MAGA Inc.'s donor list includes Trump appointees, a mom who managed to get Trump to pardon her son, and cryptocurrency traders, according to a new report by the New York Times. The super PAC managed to pull some major donations for the president; according to the disclosure, MAGA Inc. raised more than $177 million for Trump since January. Some names on the list wound up working for Trump in his administration. Anjani Sinha, a friend of Trump's, was nominated to be the ambassador to Singapore. He donated $1 million to MAGA Inc. He hasn't been approved for the position yet, possibly because he struggled to answer questions about Singapore during his confirmation hearing. Cody Campbell, who is now on Trump's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition, donated half a million dollars to the super PAC. Josh Lobel, now sitting on Trump's Intelligence Advisory Board, donated $250,000. Several major donors are tied to the crypto industry, which has by and large found a friendly ally in Trump. According to the Times, Trump's inaugural committee raised an enormous $239 million, with approximately $18 million of that coming from crypto-related donors. According to the filing, donors working in cryptocurrencies accounted for $45 million of the donations reported through MAGA Inc. One donor alone — crypto entrepreneur Eric Schiermeyer — donated $1 million, and was given the chance to have dinner with Trump in Mar-a-Lago in March. The pair didn't just eat and chat — during the dinner, Schiermeyer apparently pitched Trump on an idea for a cryptocurrency called the "USA Token" that would be doled out to Americans for use in transactions. He reportedly wanted a government contract for his company to handle the task, according to the Times' reporting. He told the paper that he managed to get his idea in front of Trump face-to-face, so he considers it a win. 'I was able to say my piece, and the idea is clearly making the rounds, so mission accomplished from my view.' he told the Times. And then there's Elizabeth Fago, who handed over $1 million to MAGA Inc. and got herself a dinner with Trump. Three weeks later, her son, Paul Walczak, who pleaded guilty to tax fraud, was pardoned. A White House spokesperson who talked to the Times anonymously said that Fago's words, rather than her cash, convinced the president to give her son a break. 'He spoke directly to a mother who pleaded for her son, and when you're talking to a mother pleading for her son, that's a pretty powerful thing,' the source reportedly said. The Independent has requested comment from The White House. According to MAGA Inc., all of the apparent benefits that come along with shoveling money at Trump are just a coincidence. It told the Times that Trump doesn't treat donors any different from normal Americans. 'President Trump values his supporters and donors, but unlike politicians before him, he cannot be bought and works toward the best interest of the country,' it told the paper.
