Mariners Predicted To Reunite With Eugenio Suárez In Deadline Blockbuster

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Eugenio Suárez sweepstakes might be the most exciting storyline to follow at the trade deadline as the Arizona Diamondbacks slugger has gotten hot at the perfect time. There are bound to be multiple teams vying for his services, but Bleacher Report's Zachary Rymer recently predicted the Seattle Mariners would be the team to land a blockbuster trade for the slugger. PHOENIX, ARIZONA - JULY 20: Eugenio Suarez #28 of the Arizona Diamondbacks celebrates after hitting a three run home run against the St. Louis Cardinals during the first inning at Chase Field on July 20,... PHOENIX, ARIZONA - JULY 20: Eugenio Suarez #28 of the Arizona Diamondbacks celebrates after hitting a three run home run against the St. Louis Cardinals during the first inning at Chase Field on July 20, 2025 in Phoenix, Arizona. More"Let's start with a nice, easy layup: Eugenio Suárez is totally going to be a Seattle Mariner again, folks," Rymer wrote. "He's definitely going somewhere in the coming days, and not just because the Arizona Diamondbacks are going nowhere while they're in fourth place in the National League West. He's ridiculously hot right now, to a point where he has risen to No. 1 on ESPN's trade deadline big board. "The Mariners are interested in Suárez, according to ESPN's Buster Olney, and there's a lot more than just familiarity at play there. They have gotten only five home runs from third base this season, so scoring an upgrade the likes of Suárez would only further solidify them as a contender for their first-ever World Series appearance." While teams like the New York Yankees and Chicago Cubs are bound to enter the Suárez sweepstakes, a reunion with the Mariners could make the most sense. Seattle needs to take advantage of this season. Cal Raleigh has been generational at the top of their lineup, and the pitching staff has dominated, like usual. Adding another potential 50-home run bat at the top of the lineup would make Seattle a scary team to play down the stretch. The Mariners have the prospects to make a deal happen, though it's been reported that the Diamondbacks are looking for pitching prospects in return for any big trade. Seattle needs to make a deal like this if it wants a real chance to contend for the World Series. More MLB: Astros Landing $8 Million Slugger Would Boost Lineup Ahead Of Trade Deadline
