'I didn't abuse my child': Jayden-Lee Meek's 'murder-mom'

Jayden-Lee Meek's mother, Tiffany, has denied widespread reports that she abused her son, whom she is accused of murdering. The 31-year-old has made headlines over her shock arrest and charges, with some even likening her to Kelly Smith, the mother of missing girl Joslin Smith. On Friday, 18 July, Tiffany made her second appearance at the Roodepoort Magistrates Court on charges of murder, defeating the ends of justice, and crimen injuria. Tiffany is accused of fatally striking her son with a blunt force object on his head and concealing evidence. In an affidavit read by her attorney, Noven Singh, in court during her bail application, Jayden-Lee Meek's mother, Tiffany, claimed that she was being 'framed' for the murder of her son. Tiffany claimed that authorities and activists were unfairly comparing her to Kelly Smith, the mother of Joslin Smith, who was convicted of kidnapping and child trafficking in May. In much of it, Tiffany blamed the police for their alleged delay in filing a missing person's report, thoroughly searching the apartment complex, and condemning community members for not calling emergency services after her son's body was discovered the next day. She said: 'I have already been tried, found guilty, and sentenced by social media subscribers. Without them even knowing of the state's case. 'There was a so-called private investigator who was trying to make me out to be an abusive mother and publicly announced that Jayden's school had complained about a history of abuse. 'I have never abused my child'. According to the anonymous investigator – who spoke to eNCA this week – Jayden-Lee Meek complained to his peers at Royal College about being 'starved', 'abused' and 'neglected'. Meanwhile, the Gauteng Department of Education has confirmed that it will investigate claims that Jayden-Lee Meek had confided in teachers and classmates that he was being abused at home. Earlier this week, officials visited the independent school, Royal College, to verify the claims. Department spokesperson said: 'Our preliminary report indicates that there is an element of truth to the said allegations. However, our team will continue to conduct its investigation. 'The department has a responsibility to ensure that all learners in Gauteng are protected'. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1 . 'Why did she do it?': Jayden-Lee Meek's paternal family demand answers

The paternal family of Jayden-Lee Meek are demanding answers from his mother, Tiffany, who has been arrested in connection with his murder. The 31-year-old woman made her second appearance in the Roodepoort Magistrates Court on Friday, 18 July. In it, she detailed how she was 'framed' for her son's death, which took place two months ago. Tiffany is remanded in custody until her next appearance next week. Speaking to the media after Jayden-Lee Meek's mother, Tiffany made her court appearance, his paternal uncle, Owen Meek – the brother of the boy's father, Leandro Meek – spoke on behalf of the family. He said: 'We're standing firm in this trial. We're going to see it through. Tiffany is married into our family. The dad is not in a good space. 'We're happy so far with the outcome of that day. Keeping Tiffany behind bars is a very small win for us.' Meek appeared to the community to direct its anger at Tiffany's family. He continued, 'Let the law take its course. Let's not go on what we assume, what we think, and what we feel. We're putting our confidence in that justice will be served for Jayden. 'We do believe that his mom did love him. We want to know why she did it, and who she did it with…everyone wants answers'. @ Owen Meek, cousin of Jayden-Lee Meek's father, briefs the community on how they feel. #Fyp #CaxonLocalMedia #Journalist #RoodepoortRecord #JaydenLeeMeek #fleurhof #courtappearance #roodepoort #Murdersuspect #JusticeforJayden #JusticeForJaydenLee ♬ original sound – Caxton JHB West Meanwhile, Jayden-Lee Meek's maternal grandmother, Debbie Dunn, claims her daughter is being 'framed' for murder. A week ago, the 31-year-old was arrested, later appearing in court for the first time on Monday. On 14 May, Jayden-Lee's lifeless body was discovered outside his mother's apartment in Fleurhof, Johannesburg. Tiffany had reportedly been staying at her mother's house, and not her own, when the gruesome discovery was made. Image: Via Facebook Speaking in a TikTok video accompanied by her son, Jayden-Lee's grandmother claims she was 'deeply disappointed' in the police investigation as well as the prosecution of her daughter 'over a crime she did not commit'. Dunn claimed that Tiffany's family, friends, and attorney were present at court, but they were unable to access the courtroom where she appeared. She said: 'It is so clear that the police, prosecutors, and activists are working together to ensure that Tiffany was not represented in court on her first appearance and that her loved ones were not inside to give her love and support'. Dunn added: 'We hope that she will be given a fair bail hearing and trial. We have lost faith and hope in the criminal system.' @forever11_jayden we were there, yet the hearing was hush hush and they made sure we were not present.. all this just to further discredit her. ♬ original sound – Debbie Dunn Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1 .
