Bahrain's Garden Show Showcases Modern Farming

The Minister of Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs, His Excellency Eng. Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, has lauded the esteemed royal patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for the Bahrain International Garden Show 2025. He emphasized that such patronage plays a crucial role in bolstering the Kingdom's agricultural sector and advancing environmental sustainability through strategic projects spearheaded by the government, under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The minister also extended his deepest gratitude to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and Chairperson of the Advisory Council of the National Initiative for Agricultural Sector Development, for inaugurating the event. He acknowledged her continuous support for afforestation and agricultural development, which significantly contributes to the ministry's efforts in enhancing the sector's performance across various levels.
Al Mubarak highlighted the significance of the Bahrain International Garden Show in fostering the development of parks and public spaces in the Kingdom, supporting afforestation and beautification efforts, and strengthening the agricultural industry. He noted that the event serves as a vital platform for exchanging ideas, experiences, and expertise within the sector.
Aligned with this year's exhibition theme, which encourages innovation and creative contributions to the agricultural and horticultural sectors, the Ministry's pavilion focuses on raising agricultural awareness and promoting a culture of environmental sustainability.
The exhibit showcases key achievements and initiatives undertaken to support Bahrain's agricultural industry while encouraging modern farming techniques. Among the highlighted solutions are vertical farming, artificial lighting-based agriculture, and advanced hydroponic systems. Additionally, the pavilion features an informative section on the Bahrain Mangrove Initiative, reinforcing the Kingdom's commitment to ecological preservation and sustainability.

TDT | Manama Bahrain is set to become the region's new epicentre for cybersecurity innovation, with the third Arab International Cybersecurity Conference & Exhibition (AICS 2025) unveiling the launch of the Arab world's first DEF CON Villages. The announcement was made yesterday at a press conference held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister. The event, scheduled for 5 to 6 November at Exhibition World Bahrain, is organised for the third consecutive year by Faalyat. DEF CON Villages debut The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), in collaboration with DEF CON, one of the world's most iconic hacker communities, confirmed that the Villages will focus on artificial intelligence, space, cloud security, and industrial control systems. Interactive Demo Labs will accompany the Villages, offering hands-on tech experiences to researchers, startups, and students. H.E. Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, CEO of the NCSC, said the collaboration with DEF CON represented a leap forward in positioning Bahrain as a global cybersecurity hub. 'It's a platform to exchange global expertise, showcase innovation, and prepare the region for evolving cyber threats,' he said. Youth front and centre The event will include a youth empowerment programme, mentorship initiatives, and a Capture the Flag (CTF) cyber contest to spotlight local and international talent. The NCSC also announced a strategic partnership with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) to deliver specialised training for emerging cybersecurity professionals. A new local community initiative, DEF CON Group Bahrain, was also launched to unite experts, students, and enthusiasts focused on defensive cybersecurity practices and digital resilience. Building cyber leadership More than 10,000 participants from 50 countries are expected to attend, alongside 100 international speakers and experts. The programme includes pavilions, technical workshops, cyber competitions, and a global tech exhibition. H.E. Shaikh Salman praised the ongoing collaboration with Faalyat, which continues to bring world-class stakeholder engagement and experiential design to the region's most prominent cyber event. The third edition of AICS builds on Bahrain's commitment to secure digital transformation and cyber innovation, reinforcing its vision to lead the Arab world in shaping future cyber ecosystems.

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received an official invitation to attend the Future Investment Initiative 2025, set to be held in Riyadh this October. The invitation was delivered during a meeting at Gudaibiya Palace with His Excellency Naif bin Bandar Al-Sudairi, the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Bahrain. The invitation was extended on behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia. Prince Salman expressed appreciation for the strong and historic relationship between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, describing it as a model of regional unity and cooperation. Officials noted how the Shura Secretariat builds a workplace culture that supports creativity, loyalty and personal development, especially by investing in motivation and engagement. Programmes focusing on employee happiness, team cohesion and knowledge transfer were also presented as part of its wider institutional development goals. AI-driven transformation The Secretariat's digital initiatives, particularly its integration of artificial intelligence, were also showcased. These included smart tools to streamline internal workflows, digitise knowledge resources and optimise support services for council operations.
