Driver squeezes between cars claims rushing to fallen mother
Klang Utara police chief ACP S. Vijaya Rao confirmed the 29-year-old man surrendered at the Traffic Division of the Klang Utara Police Headquarters late yesterday.
'Based on his statement, the suspect said he was heading to his mother's house to take her to the hospital after she fell at home,' he said.
The driver was detained for a urine test, which returned negative for drugs, and was later released on bail. Police have reclassified the case under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless or dangerous driving.

KUALA LUMPUR, July 25 (Bernama) -- A local 'madam' touted as a 'mak ayam' (pimp) was among 93 individuals detained in two raids on an entertainment centre on Jalan Kuchai Lama and a shophouse on Jalan Dewan Sultan Sulaiman 1 here. Kuala Lumpur Immigration Department (JIM) director Wan Mohammed Saupee Wan Yusoff said the entertainment centre offered RM3,000 necklace garlands to entice foreign GROs for stage shows at the nightspot. In the first raid at 11.45 pm yesterday, the individuals detained included the local woman manager, three Thai and Vietnamese women, four Taiwanese women, five Bangladeshi men, and three men and a woman from China. 'All foreigners were detained under Section 6(1)c (no work permit) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 and Regulation 39B (misuse of social visit pass) of the Immigration Regulations 1963 while local citizens were detained under Section 56(1)(d) (for harbouring illegal immigrants) of the Immigration Act 1959/63,' he told reporters at the location of the second raid here. Wan Mohammed Saupee also said the remaining 72 individuals were detained at a shophouse said to be illegally rented out to undocumented migrants at RM500 per room. 'Most of those detained were Indonesians with 28 men and 26 women, followed by 11 Bangladeshi men, two Myanmar nationals, two Indians, two Pakistanis and one Nepalese man. All were arrested under Section 15 (1) c (for overstaying) and Section 6 (1) c (no visit pass) of the Immigration Act 1959/63," he said. He reminded all undocumented migrants to participate in the Migrant Repatriation Programme 2.0, which has been extended until April 30 next year, specifically for Peninsular Malaysia and the Federal Territory of Labuan. He said immigration checks will ensure Kuala Lumpur remains a safe and tranquil capital. "Based on operational statistics, the Kuala Lumpur Immigration Department will conduct raids every two weeks, especially in the Chow Kit area, which is identified as a hotspot with many undocumented foreigners working illegally here," he said.

Suspected Snatch Thief Beaten To Death
KUALA LUMPUR, July 25 (Bernama) -- A man believed to be a foreigner was confirmed dead after being beaten by members of the public while attempting to rob a female kindergarten teacher in a residential area near Batu 9, Cheras on Tuesday. Kajang district police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof said his department received an emergency call from the public regarding the incident at 11.10 am. "Members from the Batu 9 Cheras Police Station rushed to the location and found a man lying injured and unconscious," he said in a statement today. According to him, an examination by the medical team that arrived at the location shortly afterwards confirmed that the suspect had died, believed to have been beaten by members of the public. "The robbery suspect who was approximately 160 centimetres tall, wore a black T-shirt and a pair of black shorts and did not have any identification documents," he said. Naazron said a post-mortem was conducted on the same day classified the cause of death as 'Pending Laboratory Analysis' by a Pathologist. Following the incident, police arrested eight local men aged between 22 and 72 at 7.46 pm on the day of the incident, to assist in the investigation. 'All individuals have been remanded for six days from July 23 to 28. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code which provides for the death penalty or imprisonment for between 30 and 40 years and if not sentenced to death, can be given not less than 12 strokes,' he said. Several Ipoh Roads To Be Closed For Warriors' Day
IPOH, July 25 (Bernama) -- Several major roads here will be closed and diverted in stages next week to make way for the rehearsal and celebration of the 2025 Perak-level Warriors' Day. District Police chief ACP Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said the Warriors' Day rehearsal would be held on Tuesday (July 29) and Wednesday (July 30) from 7.30 am to 10 am. He said roads would also be closed on Thursday (July 31) for the main celebration, starting at 7.30 am, for about an hour.
