The Adani Group 's Annual General Meeting (AGM) for FY26 began on Tuesday, with chairman Gautam Adani commenting on India's resilience amid ongoing global conflicts, bribery allegations, and key updates across the conglomerate's businesses, including its energy, airport, and other segments.Industrialist Gautam Adani has been ranked the 25th richest person in the world, according to the latest Forbes Real-Time Billionaires List. As of now, his net worth stands at $63.1 billion, a significant recovery from the lows seen in early 2023.Adani, the chairman of the Ahmedabad-headquartered Adani Group, oversees a vast empire with interests spanning ports, airports, power generation and transmission, and green energy. The group began as a commodities trading firm in 1988 and has grown into one of India's most influential conglomerates, often seen as aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's infrastructure push. The billionaire's financial standing suffered a major blow in January 2023 after US-based Hindenburg Research accused the Adani Group of stock manipulation and accounting fraud. While the group denied any wrongdoing, the fallout led to a sharp fall in the value of its listed companies. However, the tide turned a year later when India's Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Adani Group, effectively clearing the way for renewed investor confidence. Since then, the group's market value has rebounded significantly, contributing to Gautam Adani's climb back into the top 30 richest people globally.Adani is currently India's largest airport operator and controls Mundra Port , the country's biggest commercial port located in Gujarat. His infrastructure expansion continues to attract both global investment and regulatory scrutiny.Despite volatility, Gautam Adani remains a central figure in India's economic landscape, and his net worth trajectory reflects both the ambition and fragility of rapid industrial growth in emerging markets.

World recognises 2 infinite powers of India — demography and democracy: PM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said India's two strengths are its demography and democracy, with the country being the most populous and the largest democracy in the world. In a virtual address during Rozgar Mela, after distributing over 51,000 appointment letters to youths, the PM said his government's welfare schemes, be it building over four crore houses for the poor, distributing over 10 crore new LPG connections or the rooftop solar programme, have created lakhs of new employment opportunities, and so have a host of other initiatives that led to growth in manufacturing sector. Exhorting the youth to work hard for the nation, he said the motto should be 'citizens first', and underlined that their careers would be the most important phase of 'Amrit Kaal' for the country. 'The world acknowledges today that India possesses two infinite powers. One is demography, the other is democracy. In other words, the largest youth population and the largest democracy,' he said. Asserting that the country has progressed in every field in the past 11 years, PM Modi said electronic manufacturing had risen over five times and mobile manufacturing units have increased to nearly 300 from two to four earlier. Noting that over 25 crore people were lifted out of poverty in the past 10 years, the PM said it would not have happened but for the employment and sources of income generated for them. Citing an International Labour Organization report, Modi said over 90 crore people were covered under the ambit of welfare schemes in the last decade. The worth of defence production has gone beyond `1.25 lakh crore, he said, adding that India is now on the way to becoming the third-largest economy. Defence manufacturing is being discussed proudly after Operation Sindoor, he said in an apparent reference to the display of India's indigenous military capability during the conflict with Pakistan. The government, he said, was focusing on creating new employment opportunities through the Employment Linked Incentive Scheme, under which people in their first job in the private sector would be given `15,000 by the government. He added that this is expected to help create about 3.5 crore new jobs.

Ajmera Realty posts ₹108 crore sales in Q1 FY26
NEW DELHI: Ajmera Realty & Infra India has reported sales of ₹108 crore in the first quarter of FY26, with 63,244 sq ft of area sold. The performance, while steady, was weighed down by project launch delays stemming from sector-wide regulatory challenges. The company registered a 42% year-on-year rise in collections at ₹234 crore in Q1 FY26, driven by focused execution and cash flow discipline. The Mumbai-headquartered developer said key project launches were deferred owing to delays in securing necessary permissions—challenges that have also impacted other players in the sector. The company, however, indicated that it is working proactively with authorities to resolve the issues and accelerate project timelines. Dhaval Ajmera , director - Corporate Affairs, of the company said, "Our Q1 FY26 results reflect both strengths and sector-wide regulatory challenges. We are pleased with the robust 42% YoY growth in collections to ₹234 crores, demonstrating our operational efficiency and project execution. However, the lack of necessary approvals led to delays in new launches, while lower available inventory in existing projects contributed to sales during the quarter." The company is preparing to deliver around 1,000 homes by the second half of FY26, with fast-tracked construction across six residential projects in Mumbai and Bengaluru . It expects improved sales momentum in the coming quarters.
