OPPO K13x 5G with Dimensity 6300, 6000mAh battery launched at Rs 11,999
Chinese smartphone brand OPPO has launched the K13x 5G smartphone in India, starting at Rs 11,999. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, the phone features a 6.67-inch HD+ LCD display, a 6000mAh battery, and several AI-based tools to simplify tasks and enhance creative workflows.
Meta has partnered with an American company Oakley, which is a subsidiary of Luxottica, to come up with a new range of smart glasses targeted at athletes or consumers who are looking for rugged smart glasses. As per Meta, the Oakley Meta Glasses offer significantly improved battery life compared to the Meta Ray-Bans, delivering up to eight hours of continuous use and an additional 48 hours via the charging case. Video recording capabilities have also been enhanced, with resolution increasing from 1080p to 3K for clearer, more detailed footage.
Perplexity has introduced a new feature to its chatbot on X (formerly Twitter), which allows users to create short, AI-generated videos with sound. The feature works by simply tagging @AskPerplexity in a post and adding a short prompt. Users receive an eight-second video clip that includes creative visuals, background music and dialogue. The new feature has led to more user activity, with people trying out how creative the AI can be.
Nothing has officially confirmed that its maiden over-ear headphones, the Nothing Headphone 1, will launch in India on July 1, in sync with the global release. The confirmation came via a post on X (formerly Twitter) by co-founder Akis Evangelidis, who stated, 'Headphone (1) will be launched in India at the same time as global.'
WhatsApp is introducing a new feature that allows users to generate AI-powered custom wallpapers for their chats using Meta AI. As per WABetaInfo, the feature is part of the latest WhatsApp beta update for Android and will be available to more users in the coming weeks.

Kochi's IT future brightens with mulitple infra projects
Kochi: With several major IT infrastructure projects in the pipeline — including a new project by a private group in Infopark Phase II and the newly inaugurated IT Twin Towers in SmartCity — hopes for Kochi's IT sector are being rekindled. Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, while inaugurating the Lulu IT Twin Towers on the SmartCity campus on Saturday, announced that the Lulu Group will also set up a new IT tower in Infopark Phase II, Kakkanad. The Rs 500-crore project will come up on 3.5 acres near the Brahmapuram bridge and offer 9.5 lakh square feet of built-up space. The tower is expected to generate at least 7,500 jobs, and the state govt has pledged full support for the venture. Recently, UST Global has started construction of its new campus on 8.5 acres in Infopark Phase II, which is projected to provide direct employment to around 5,000 IT and ITeS professionals. The Lulu Twin Towers itself is expected to create approximately 30,000 jobs. Additional projects include the World Trade Centre Tower III in Infopark Phase I, a 37-acre TCS campus in Kinfra Park and V-Guard's upcoming IT park, which is nearing completion. Prestige Group's Phase II project is also under consideration in SmartCity, and Infopark's extension campus at the South Metro station is expected to begin operations soon. These developments are set to increase the current IT workforce in Infopark, SmartCity, and nearby campuses from 1 lakh to an estimated 1.5 lakh. Meanwhile, Infopark authorities are awaiting final govt clearance for a proposed third campus spanning 500 acres in Kunnathunadu panchayat. Twin tower boost for Kochi's IT infra
Kochi: Giving a major boost to IT infrastructure in the state, chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated LuLu IT Twin Towers on SmartCity campus in Kochi on Saturday. The state-of-the-art complex, developed with an investment of Rs 1,500cr, was unveiled in the presence of ministers, industry leaders and eminent personalities from various walks of life. Located within SmartCity Kochi special economic zone (SEZ), the project is expected to bring leading global companies to SmartCity campus and generate around 30,000 employment opportunities. While inaugurating the project, Vijayan said the state is transitioning into a digitally driven economy and infrastructure projects like LuLu IT Twin Towers are vital in attracting global tech investments and generating employment for our youth. "If we truly seek development, everyone, including govt, private sector and various political and social organizations, must come together in unity," he said. The CM informed that LuLu group will launch another IT tower project with an investment of Rs 500cr on Infopark Phase II campus in Kochi. Humanoid Robots Play Soccer Poorly in Chinese Exhibition Match
(Bloomberg) -- They looked like tipsy 7-year-olds stumbling about the soccer pitch. But the game that unfolded at an industrial zone in Beijing was a breakthrough for humanoid robots and the artificial intelligence that powered them through a 5-3 match on Saturday. Clad in black and purple jerseys with individual player numbers, diminutive humanoids faced off for two 10-minute halves, their movements controlled not by gesticulating coaches on the sidelines but by built-in algorithms. The spectacle was less about lightning-speed action — two players fell on top of each other — and more about demonstrating balance, agility and AI-powered decision-making. The bots pumped their fists in the air after each goal — not difficult since the goalies were pretty bad. The games were not just a novelty but a signal of how far machine autonomy has progressed — and a showcase for Chinese institutions in particular. The matches featured multiple teams from the leading Tsinghua University as well as institutions like the Beijing Information Science and Technology University. One Tsinghua team called Vulcan won the championship following intense play, the China News Network reported. China is pouring money and talent into the field in a bid to steal a march on the rest of the world. The nation's $47 billion robotics market already accounts for 40% of the global total, and is slated to grow at a 23% annual rate to be worth $108 billion by 2028, according to a report by Morgan Stanley earlier this month. 'China is not only the largest market but also is arguably the world's innovation hub, propelling cost efficiencies and next-gen robotics development,' the Morgan Stanley analysts said. China, never one to shy away from a spectacle-meets-innovation demonstration, has lined up a series of humanoid-robot events that are both technological milestones and provocative cultural events. There was a humanoid half-marathon in Beijing in April, and a bot kickboxing tournament in Hangzhou in May. And while these exhibited some striking advances in AI and robotics, they weren't quite so impressive as spectator sports. Robotic limbs flailed in the air and some robots keeled over at the kickboxing tournament, while only six of the 21 humanoid marathon runners completed the race. Some swerved and fell, and one unfortunate bot's head rolled off near the start. Despite their wobbliness, the robot soccer players in Beijing demonstrated visual recognition and positioning abilities, aided by cameras and sensors. They could, for instance, detect the ball from as far away as 60 feet (18.3 meters) with 90% accuracy. The robots were also able to identify the goal, the pitch, field lines and opponents, and make playing decisions based on these inputs — technological improvements that indicate how far the machines have come. 'Such demonstrations with human-form robots are currently focused on inspiring people's imaginations,' said Samir Menon, founder and chief executive officer of Palo Alto-headquartered robotics startup Dexterity, Inc. 'There'll be thousands of different types of robots, and hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of types of applications.' The soccer robots used AI techniques like deep reinforcement learning — a sophisticated system based on trial and error in many simulated situations — to make real-time decisions like passing, dribbling and shooting, or predicting when and where a teammate will move. Such events emphasize Beijing's goal to deploy increasing numbers in real-world applications, and prove testing grounds to evaluate the machines for stability, efficiency and safety aspects in human proximity. Saturday's humanoid football league was a preview for the 2025 World Humanoid Robot Games that China is set to host on Aug. 15–17 in Beijing.
