Excessive backlash prompts PMX to disable comment section of some FB, Instagram posts
Such was the sentiment aired by a few supposedly disgruntled PKR supporters or more specifically the faction of Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli who was ousted in the party's deputy presidency race by PMX's daughter, Nurul Izzah Anwar.
'PMX turn off the comment section on his Facebook posts regarding the PKR Congress (he is most popular at FB with 2.7M+ followers),' fumed hafizubai🇵🇸 (@hafizubai1) on X.
'Our PM is refusing to hear people's voice. Correct me if I'm wrong but did Najib ever do that? Heck even Muhyiddin or Ismail Sabri ever did (that)? Shameful!'
Another furious PKR backer Zaz (@ThIsIs_Zharif) wondered what has PKR become till PMX has to shut down his FB comment section.
'Afraid of the rakyat? Is this how you manage the pulse of the rakyat? A clown party!'
Anwar Ibrahim pun mula tutup komen di Facebook? 😂😂 Keadilan ni dah jadi apa? Takut dengan Rakyat? Macam ni cara kamu uruskan denyut nadi rakyat?

The social media-savvy netizen went on further to reveal that the comment section of six FB posts had bed been turned off while querying if 'this us the way the Bapa Reformasi evade the people's anger'?
In an update, Zaz observed that the comment section on PMX's FB section was disabled from '7.17am to 7.20am' yesterday (May 25) with a check by FocusM revealed that commenting is limited to 'only people who have followed this page for more than 24 hours'.
Apart from FB, a few netizens also reported that the comment section on PMX's Instagram in which he boasts 1.2M followers has also been disabled/limited.
At the end of the day, one PMX fan who has been looking up to him as an idol since young expressed sympathy to the former while stating that 'such is the price that he must pay for supporting the foolish Damai (Nurul Izzah's) team'.
'For the first time, PMX has to close the comment section because 95% of the comments criticised him,' he penned on X.
Aku simpati pd PMX antara idola aku yg aku sokong dari muda. Itulah harga yg perlu dibayar kerana team Damai yg bahalol.
Buat kali pertamanya PMX terpaksa tutup ruang komen krn 95% komen hentam beliau.

Syed Saddiq gets RM200k Muar allocation with strict condition
MUAR: Muar member of parliament Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman announced that his parliamentary constituency has finally received an allocation of RM200,000 after more than 500 days of negotiations. However, he said the allocation came with strict conditions and was limited to administrative purposes only, such as office rent, staff salaries, equipment, and office management. "The allocation cannot be used for any welfare aid, infrastructure improvements, or any form of contribution to the people. "It will be fully audited, and I agree 100 per cent," he said in a Facebook post yesterday. Syed Saddiq also compared the allocation received by government MPs, who receive up to RM20 million for one term, with Muar, which has so far only received RM200,000. Syed Saddiq, who has returned to attend the Dewan Rakyat sitting as the Muar MP, also stressed that his attendance at the Dewan Rakyat and parliamentary committees is 100 per cent. Despite facing official allocation constraints, he said he would continue to work hard and find new initiatives to raise funds to help the people of Muar. "In the past six months alone, through various new efforts, I have managed to contribute more than RM2 million for the welfare of the people of Muar through my own efforts. "Alhamdulillah, I will continue these efforts. One door closes, ten more open," he said.

Unpaid community service clause unconstitutional, says Hassan Karim
Slug: izslave HL: Unpaid community service clause unconstitutional, says Hassan Karim Qistina Sallehuddin, Nor Ain Mohamed Radhi KUALA LUMPUR: Government backbencher Hassan Abdul Karim has warned the government against proceeding with a clause in the proposed Local Government (Amendment) Bill 2025 that would allow unpaid community service orders to be imposed, cautioning that such provisions may amount to slavery and breach the Federal Constitution. The Pasir Gudang member of parliament and PKR veteran said the proposed Section 104A(1), which allows a community service order to be made against individuals convicted of violating local council by-laws, contradicts Article 6 of the Constitution, which prohibits slavery and all forms of forced labour. He also pointed out that the section defines community service as work or service that is not paid. "This act (amendment) should not be rushed into approval. After reviewing it, I find that while the intention behind the proposed amendments is good, the method of implementation may contradict existing laws. "From what I understand, work or service that is unpaid and must be carried out as a punishment could amount to practices resembling slavery, servitude, or forced labour. "Referring to dictionaries, the Oxford Language Dictionary, for example, slavery is defined as a condition in which a person is forced to do hard labour without pay or recognition," he said. Hassan also drew parallels to Section 9(5) of the Peaceful Assembly Act, which was enforced for more than a decade before being struck down by the Federal Court for being unconstitutional recently. "This is what concerns me. As such, remove the provision for community service that resembles slavery. "Instead, I propose that a fair and reasonable amount of wages or allowance be made mandatory for community service duties," he said. Similarly, he also called for local government elections, which were once part of the country's system until 1965, to be revived. This follows concerns over the legality of allowing unelected local councils to determine and enforce community service orders under the proposed amendments to existing legislation, he said. "I wish to raise a question regarding the legitimacy or legal authority of local councils to create such by-laws, given that across the country there are 20 city councils, 40 municipal councils, and 91 district councils. "Local authorities comprise mayors, municipal presidents, district council presidents, and appointed councillors, all of whom are not elected by the people. "None of these positions were filled through elections, all were appointed. So is it legally valid for a local authority, such as Kuala Lumpur City Hall, to enact a by-law to determine the type of community service to be implemented?"

Hun Sen calls Thaksin out, reveals historic role in Thai politics
Hun Sen (above) said former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra called Cambodia's leader "immoral" a few days ago. -- PHOTO: AFP PHNOM PENH (Phnom Penh Post/ANN): Hun Sen said he is not interested in speaking with former Thai prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, after the latter told Thai media that he has stopped communicating with the former Cambodian premier. 'I want to tell Thaksin that it should be me who should not want to talk to you, ever since your daughter was arrogant and looked down on me. "Moreover, I have no interest in speaking with someone who has been convicted and is preparing to face additional charges. So, do not think too highly of yourself – talking to you only brings me trouble!' Hun Sen wrote in a Facebook post on July 20. On July 19, Thaksin declared that he was determined to stop communicating with Hun Sen, citing fears of his conversations being secretly recorded. He also urged the Thai authorities to complain to the UN regarding a landmine explosion that injured Thai soldiers earlier that week, according to Thai media outlet Khaosod English. 'From my observation, since Thaksin became involved in Thai politics, Thailand has been in great turmoil, starting before the 2006 coup. "I also do not want to bring up the severe insults you directed at the Thai monarchy – those words were too vile for me to repeat, as they would only tarnish the dignity of the Thai King. But you acknowledge that they are true,' Hun Sen added. He added that a few days ago, Thaksin called Cambodia's leader 'immoral', an insult as grave as the one made by Thaksin's daughter, Paetongtarn Shinawatra, who referred to the Cambodian leadership as 'unprofessional', sparking anger among the Cambodian public. 'I want to ask you if I lack morality, why did you rely on me for 19 years, from 2006 to 2025, constantly listening to my advice and even calling me 'Leader Number One'? Do you remember the formation of the Pheu Thai Party to contest the 2011 elections? "Apart from some ideas, there was a theory: 'Thaksin thinks, Pheu Thai acts'. That was my theory, Hun Sen's theory, which I shouldn't have to remind you of,' he added. He also revealed that Thaksin was the mastermind behind the Pheu Thai Party and that the betrayal of the Bhumjaithai Party was Thaksin's idea, not that of his daughter, who is currently suspended from her role as Thai prime minister. -- THE PHNOM PENH POST/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
