Brittney Griner Had No Words for Big WNBA News on Tuesday
Brittney Griner was able to make her return to action on Friday following a two-game absence due to a knee injury. The Atlanta Dream welcomed their star center back with a 94-87 win against the Seattle Storm to mark their fourth consecutive victory.

It was two-time All-Star Allisha Gray who led the charge for Atlanta during Griner's recent brief spell on the sidelines. In fact, Gray's strong play over the past week led to some big news for the 6-foot guard.
The WNBA announced on Tuesday that, for the first time in her career, Gray has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week behind averages of 26.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists in two games played last week.
Griner caught wind of the news and the nine-time All-Star decided to flex her teammate's milestone. Griner took to Instagram to share the Dream's post announcing Gray's Player of the Week win.
Griner had no caption for her post, instead opting to add a selection of emojis to emphasize her flex.

Thanks to Gray's strong run, Atlanta was able to make it four straight wins. The Dream are now 5-2 in the season and are sitting at the No. 3 spot in the WNBA.

Their success has been thanks in large part to Gray, who is in the midst of her best season of her career. In seven games played thus far, the former Rookie of the Year has put up career-best numbers in points (21.4), field goal shooting (49.5%), assists (4.6) and three-pointers made (2.9 triples on 43.5% shooting).
They will be back in action on Friday against the 1-6 Connecticut Sun as the Dream look to make it five wins in a row.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Sends Cryptic Six-Word Message on NBA Trade Rumors
Giannis Antetokounmpo Sends Cryptic Six-Word Message on NBA Trade Rumors originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Over the past week, whispers have linked Giannis Antetokounmpo to virtually every marquee franchise, ranging from the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors to the New York Knicks and Miami Heat, as fans dissect every social‐media post and vacation photo for hidden signals. Advertisement Yet, despite the endless chatter, ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported back in June that 'There is currently no trade market for Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, because he has not asked for [a trade] and the Bucks are not looking to trade him.' Against that backdrop of rampant speculation, a recent joint livestream in Greece with internet personality IShowSpeed offered the most direct insight yet into Anteokounmpo's mindset. Midway through their conversation about the stark contrast between income taxes in Los Angeles and New York, Antetokounmpo quipped, 'A lot of people try to convince me to go and play there and stuff.' When pressed on whether he intended to remain in Milwaukee, he sent a six‐word reply. Advertisement 'Probably. We'll see. I love Milwaukee.' Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo.© Trevor Ruszkowski-Imagn Images That measured response, part reassurance, part ambiguity, will slightly intrigue the fans of other franchises who are closely watching the developments. Previously, during a visit to Brazil, Antetokounmpo strongly put forward his desire to continue playing for Milwaukee. And even now, through the free agency, the narrative remains the same. The Greek Freak will continue wearing the Bucks' colors. At least for this season. He has a strong desire to win another NBA Championship, and the management made significant changes to their roster to support him in that endeavor, including acquiring Myles Turner from Indiana and waiving Damian Lillard. Advertisement With a player option in 2027 and no no‐trade clause, Antetokounmpo retains ultimate control. For now, his public declaration, 'I love Milwaukee', may be the clearest signal fans and rivals will get until the next chapter of this saga unfolds. Red Sox Reportedly Make Alex Bregman Trade Decision, Per Insider
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. The Boston Red Sox have not met their offseason expectations so far. However, they have gotten Masataka Yoshida back, and Alex Bregman should be returning soon as well. Bregman was named an All-Star and was having a great year before his quad injury. With Rafael Devers' contract off the books, the Red Sox can afford to extend Bregman so he does not exercise his opt-out after the season. Bregman and his agent, Scott Boras, have made it known they are open to signing an extension. TAMPA, FLORIDA - APRIL 15: Alex Bregman #2 of the Boston Red Sox reacts after hitting a home run in the seventh inning against the Tampa Bay Rays at George M. Steinbrenner Field on April... TAMPA, FLORIDA - APRIL 15: Alex Bregman #2 of the Boston Red Sox reacts after hitting a home run in the seventh inning against the Tampa Bay Rays at George M. Steinbrenner Field on April 15, 2025 in Tampa, Florida. All players are wearing the number 42 in honor of Jackie Robinson Day. MoreWhile the Red Sox would like to extend Bregman, The Athletic's Jim Bowden reported that the team could try to trade him if extension talks stall. However, MassLive's Sean McAdam reported that a team official "dismissed" the notion that the team would trade him if an extension is not agreed to by the trade deadline. "One top Red Sox official dismissed the idea that the team would look into trading Alex Bregman if a contract extension can't be reached before trade deadline, saying: 'We're trying to win.' Contract talks have been casual, with club more focused on draft, deadline etc," McAdam wrote on X. The Red Sox and Craig Breslow have been adamant that the team is trying to win this year, even after the Rafael Devers trade. Trading away Bregman would not be a step in that direction. He is slashing .299/.385/.553 this season, and is the team's best hitter now that Devers is gone. Even if Bregman cannot reach an extension, the Red Sox now have the money to sign him to a new deal in free agency, although that does come with the risk of getting into a bidding war. There is no official deadline for an extension. Perhaps after the MLB Draft, extension talks could heat up. More MLB: Yankees' DJ LeMahieu Could Be 'Packing His Bags' After Reaction to Benching
