West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta is looking forward to playing football 'with a smile on his face' again after four spot-fixing charges against him which could have effectively finished his career were found not proven.
The Brazilian has been under investigation since August 2023, with the Football Association charging him in May 2024 with four alleged breaches of Rule E5.1, which relates to any attempt to improperly influence any aspect of a match.
It was alleged he deliberately attempted to receive a card in four Premier League games between November 2022 and August 2023.
He learned the outcome on Friday, and for Paqueta the decision has lifted a huge weight from his shoulders.
'Since the first day of this investigation, I have maintained my innocence against these extremely serious accusations,' he said.
'I can't say anything more at this time, but I would like to express how grateful I am to God and how eager I am to return to playing football with a smile on my face.
'To my wife who never let go of my hand, to West Ham United, to the fans who always cheered me on, and to my family, friends and the legal team who have supported me – thank you for everything.'
Isak training alone at Sociedad
Newcastle striker Alexander Isak is training individually at Real Sociedad, the Basque club have confirmed.
The Sweden international, who is reported to have asked Newcastle executives to explore a move away from St James' Park, has been heavily linked with Liverpool.
His former club Sociedad confirmed on Thursday he was 'working with his trainers' at the club's Zubieta facility.
The player did not travel with the rest of the Newcastle squad earlier this month for their pre-season tour of Asia amid speculation over his future, with the club saying at the time he was absent due to a minor thigh injury.
The decision to train at his old club rather than his current one will heighten speculation that Isak sees his future away from Newcastle.
Toone reveals grandmother died ahead of final
Ella Toone has revealed her grandmother died on the morning of England's Euro 2025 final victory over Spain.
The 25-year-old played the opening 87 minutes of Sunday's match in Basel as the Lionesses retained their title thanks to a penalty shoot-out win following a 1-1 draw.
The Manchester United midfielder lost her father Nick to prostate cancer last September, three days short of his 60th birthday. He had been diagnosed the day after watching his daughter score in the Euro 2022 final as England beat Germany 2-1 at Wembley.
'Even in the highest of highs life can hit you with the lowest of lows,' she posted on Instagram.
'My Nana Maz took her last breath on the morning of our Euro final. I have comfort in knowing she got to watch from the best seat in the house with Dad, her favourite person.'

The financial crisis at Sheffield Wednesday is causing growing concern within the English Football League over whether the club will be able to play their opening game of the Sky Bet Championship season, the PA news agency understands.
It is understood Wednesday players have refused to feature in a scheduled behind-closed-doors friendly against Burnley on Saturday after the club failed to pay their wages on time.
The Owls are currently under an EFL embargo for unpaid transfer fees and owner Dejphon Chansiri is trying to sell the cash-strapped club.
Wednesday appointed Henrik Pedersen as their new head coach on Thursday following the departure of Danny Rohl and, just hours later, Saturday's friendly was cancelled as players and coaching staff decided to boycott the match after not receiving July's monthly salary on time.

European giants make Liverpool star Darwin Nunez top transfer target
Darwin Nunez could yet leave Liverpool this summer despite Napoli moving on from the forward as one of their Serie A rivals enter talks for the former Benfica star AC Milan have made contact with the representatives of Darwin Nunez as they eye a deal for the Liverpool forward. The Italian giants are said to have made the Uruguay international their top target for the final weeks of the transfer window. Nunez has been widely expected to leave Anfield this summer and the arrival of Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz would appear to have left him further down Arne Slot's pecking order. Liverpool retain an interest in Newcastle star Alexander Isak too and have seen a bid turned down for the Premier League striker. If the Reds are successful in landing the Sweden, Nunez's position would appear to be even more untenable. But thus far, Liverpool have not been able to find an agreement with any suitors for the former Benfica forward's signature. Napoli turned their attention elsewhere after being unable to find an agreement with the Reds' hierarchy. Antonio Conte instead added Lorenze Lucca to his side from Udinese on loan, with an obligation to buy for the forward for €26millon (£22.7m). But their Serie A rivals may yet afford Liverpool an opportunity to offload Nunez, who they signed in a deal worth £85m including potential add-ons. Milan are noted to be making a serious attempt to provide Max Allegri with a new forward with Arnaud Kalimuendo, Dusan Vlahovic and Rasmus Hojlund shortlisted alongside Darwin, per Sky Sports in Italy. The Reds striker, 26, did not feature in his side's friendly against Milan but came off the bench days later against Yokohoma FM. Nunez scored in the team's first two friendlies of the summer against Preston and Stoke City too. However, the arrival of the Swede has necessitated a tactical shift for the Gunners compared to previous seasons. Both Newcastle 's Alexander Isak, who is on Liverpool 's radar, and RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko, a target for Manchester United, were considered for the role. Yet in the end, Arsenal chose to sign Gyokeres from Sporting CP in a deal that could potentially rise to £63.5million. On paper, the signing finally provides Arsenal with the traditional No. 9 they've been missing for some time. The new signing will be urged to exploit the space behind opposition centre-backs, a strategy that served him well in Portugal. This doesn't necessarily mean an increase in long-ball tactics, but rather a greater emphasis on moving the ball upfield swiftly. The sudden changes to accommodate Gyokeres show how much faith Arteta has in him as they look to finally end their title drought after going close in recent seasons. Before deciding on Gyokeres, Arsenal had considered other forwards, including Isak, who had been on their radar since before his move to Newcastle. The report suggested Arsenal didn't pursue a deal this summer due to concerns about his price tag and whether his fitness record made the signing too risky. Liverpool reportedly had a bid of £110m plus add-ons for the Swedish player turned down. Rumours suggest Newcastle are holding out for £150m if they are to part with the player this summer. This is believed to have influenced Arsenal's decision to sign 27-year-old Gyokeres, who netted 97 goals in 102 appearances for Sporting over the last two seasons. His consistent performance in Lisbon also diverted Mikel Arteta 's attention from Leipzig striker Sesko. The same report suggested the player's valuation, similar to that of Gyokeres, was deemed "expensive for a player of Sesko's largely untapped potential," especially given his inconsistent performances since joining the Bundesliga. Gyokeres, who made his debut in a pre-season friendly loss to Tottenham, found much of his success at Sporting playing off defenders' shoulders and getting in behind. Therefore, equipping the former Coventry City and Brighton forward with the tools to succeed as hoped will necessitate some changes at the Emirates. Last season saw players like Havertz and Mikel Merino, neither of whom are natural strikers, leading the line with varying degrees of success. Given their midfield origins, both players were more comfortable functioning as links for other players. At first glance, a finishing force like Gyokeres has the potential to elevate Arsenal to the next level and finally secure Premier League silverware. However, the sudden shift from a blueprint that has propelled Arteta's side back into the European spotlight in recent seasons could also cause complications elsewhere.
