SAIF Partners: Now is Your Last Chance to Vote for Board Change at Sinovac

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SAIF Partners IV L.P., ('SAIF Partners', 'we' or 'us'), the largest single investor in Sinovac Biotech Ltd. ('Sinovac' or the 'Company') which beneficially owns approximately 15% of the Company's outstanding common shares, today urged shareholders to immediately vote ' FOR ' the election of SAIF Partners' ten highly qualified director candidates to the Company's Board of Directors (the 'Board') using the GOLD proxy card. Sinovac's Special Meeting of Shareholders (the 'Special Meeting') – scheduled for Tuesday, July 8 at 8:00 p.m. Atlantic Standard Time (Wednesday, July 9 at 8:00 a.m. China Standard Time) – is just days away, and time is running out to cast your vote for change. SAIF Partners firmly believes that Sinovac's current Board – the majority of whose members were not duly elected by shareholders or sanctioned by the Privy Council – does not act in the interests of all shareholders, and in fact only began to do so when it was publicly pressured. Further, we believe the current Board lacks integrity, industry experience, management expertise, and respect for the law necessary to fulfill its lofty promises to shareholders. As such, we do not believe the current Board has the capability to resolve the Company's most pressing issues, including concluding its numerous lawsuits and ending the six-year suspension of the trading of Sinovac's common shares in the public markets. Most importantly, however, we are highly skeptical of the current Board's ability to follow through on its plan to issue significant dividends to shareholders for several concerning reasons. These include the current Board's failure to actively engage with management, its lack of sound financial reasoning for its proposed dividend figures, its apparent unwillingness to hire a new independent auditor after it drove Sinovac's prior public accounting firm to resign in April, its poor governance practices, and several of its recent members' unethical and illegal actions in recent years, including securities violations by former director Chiang Li. These issues, among others, lead us to believe that the current Board has put forth its massive dividend distribution plan simply to win shareholders' support and retain their positions, even though it lacks the capabilities to follow through on its stated promise. Ultimately, we believe that meaningful change is urgently needed on Sinovac's Board to restore the Company's credibility with investors and regulators and unlock the tremendous long-term value embedded within Sinovac for all shareholders. If elected, our nominees will work closely with management to deliver shareholders the long-overdue dividends they deserve and establish a long-term business strategy that will maximize the value of the Company for all shareholders. Now is Your Chance to Elect a Board that Will Act in the Best Interest of ALL Sinovac Shareholders Vote the GOLD Proxy Card Today 'FOR' Proposal 1 and Proposal 2 to Remove Sinovac's Current Board and Elect SAIF Partners' Highly Qualified Director Candidates VISIT TO CAST YOUR VOTE USING YOUR UNIQUE CONTROL NUMBER LOCATED ON YOUR GOLD PROXY CARD. Caribbean: TotalEnergies Expands its Partnership with AES from LNG to Renewable Energy

PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TotalEnergies (Paris:TTE) (LSE:TTE) (NYSE:TTE) announces the closing of its acquisition of a 50% stake in the solar, wind and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) portfolio of AES Dominicana Renewables Energy. This deal follows TotalEnergies' 2024 acquisition of a 30% share in AES solar and battery assets currently under construction in Puerto Rico. The combined portfolio now exceeds 1.5 GW of renewable energy and BESS capacity across the Caribbean. These transactions advance TotalEnergies' multi-energy strategy in a region where it is a key player in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) value chain. Dominican Republic: TotalEnergies acquires 50% of AES renewables portfolio AES' renewables portfolio includes over 1 GW of contracted wind, solar, and BESS projects, of which 410 MW is already operational or under construction, supplying electricity under long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). The portfolio also includes over 500 MW of solar and wind capacity in development, alongside BESS projects, which will be integrated into solar plants to mitigate intermittency and enhance grid stability. This acquisition will allow TotalEnergies to expand its renewables business in the Dominican Republic, where the Company already has a partially solarized network of 184 service stations, natural gas distribution and a 103 MW solar plant under construction. Puerto Rico: TotalEnergies already holds 30% of a portfolio of AES renewables The AES' renewables portfolio includes 485 MW of contracted solar and BESS projects, comprising 200 MW of solar and 285 MW/1,140 MWh of BESS projects currently under construction. After acquiring 30% of these assets in 2024, TotalEnergies is pursuing deployment of its multi-energy strategy on the island, where it is already active in the fuel, lubricants, and aviation sectors, and operates a network of 200 service stations between Puerto Rico and the island of St Thomas. 'We are pleased to expand our multi-energy strategy through this partnership with AES, focusing on renewables and battery storage in a region where TotalEnergies is already a leading supplier of LNG, notably for power generation. Since 2018, we have been supplying LNG to AES's subsidiaries in Panama and the Dominican Republic', said Stéphane Michel, President of Gas, Renewables & Power at TotalEnergies. 'These new transactions will contribute to our targets of 35 GW of gross renewable capacity by 2025 and over 100 TWh of electricity production by 2030.' 'We are excited to join forces with TotalEnergies as we diversify the island's energy mix. The proceeds from this transaction will be reinvested in AES Dominicana, to grow our renewables footprint', said Juan Ignacio Rubiolo, AES Executive Vice President & President, Energy Infrastructure and Leader of International Markets. TotalEnergies and electricity TotalEnergies is building a competitive portfolio that combines renewables (solar, onshore wind, offshore wind) and flexible assets (CCGT, storage) to deliver clean firm power to its customers. As of the end of March 2025, TotalEnergies has 28 GW of installed gross renewable electricity generation capacity and aims to reach 35 GW by the end of 2025, and more than 100 TWh of net electricity production by 2030. What Wall Street has to say about the horrid June private payrolls report

ADP's latest surprise report was not on anyone's bingo card. Private payrolls fell by 33,000 in June , the company said Wednesday. Economists polled by Dow Jones expected an increase of 100,000. The report marks the first time since March 2023 that ADP reported a contraction in private payrolls. The data took the wind out of the market's sails in early morning trading. S & P 500 futures gave up their slight gains and were slightly lower following the release. Nasdaq-100 futures were also down 0.3%. To be sure, ADP's track record for predicting the U.S. government's monthly jobs report isn't great — giving investors hope that Thursday's June nonfarm numbers payrolls from the Bureau of Labor Statistics won't be as bad as ADP's figures released Wednesday. The economy is expected to have added 110,000 nonfarm payrolls, according to economists polled by Dow Jones. Here's what some Wall Street investors and strategists had to say about Wednesday's ADP figures: Ian Lyngen, head of U.S. rates at BMO: "The negative print was a clear downside surprise versus the +98k consensus. This is the first negative print since March 2023, and second negative print since the early stages of the pandemic. Overall, it was a disappointing jobs proxy that sets up tomorrow's BLS release as a major wildcard." Peter Boockvar, chief investment officer at Bleakley Financial: "I wasn't planning on writing this week but felt the need right now after seeing the ADP private sector jobs report … I'll say again, a blanket 10% tariff on all incoming imports of goods just loaded about $330b of fresh taxes on American importers (yes, some are absorbed by the exporter) which has the effective impact of raising the corporate income tax rate to 34% from 21%." Liz Ann Sonders, chief investment strategist at Charles Schwab: "Ouch: June ⁦@ADP⁩ payrolls -33k vs. +98k est. & +29k prior (rev down from +37k) … first monthly decline since March 2023 ." Peter Berezin, chief global strategist at BCA Research: "Remember: ADP is a bad predictor of nonfarm payrolls … mainly because nonfarm payrolls are a bad predictor of what is actually happening to payrolls." Guy LeBas, chief fixed income strategist at Janney: "Your monthly reminder: surprises in the ADP employment change are uncorrelated with surprises in NFPs. But this doesn't look great ." — CNBC's Alex Harring and Yun Li contributed reporting.
