Why Chicago Should Be Your Springtime Escape
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Looking for an easy city escape this spring? Chicago is just a quick flight from many American cities, often at surprisingly affordable rates. You'll touch down in a city bursting with incredible art, amazing food, and experiences straight out of your favorite movies.
Here's how to live your best Chicago weekend this spring.
Bueller? Bueller?
Re-create 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' with a visit to the Art Institute of Chicago. This museum spans more than a million square feet and is home to masterpieces like Picasso's 'The Old Guitarist' and Grant Wood's 'American Gothic.' For the full Ferris Bueller experience, follow the museum's official movie tour, which takes you through six key artworks from the film.
Next, take in the city from 1,353 feet up at the Willis Tower Skydeck (formerly the Sears Tower), just like Sloan did in the movie. And, of course, no Ferris-style day is complete without catching a Cubs game at Wrigley Field. Built in 1914, this legendary ballpark is where Babe Ruth famously called his shot in the 1932 World Series. After the game, celebrate a Cubs win (fingers crossed) with a drink at one of Wrigleyville's lively bars.
Float Through History on an Architecture Boat Tour
Yes, it's touristy. And you may not even be all that into architecture. But this tour is hands down one of the best ways to experience Chicago. You'll catch one-of-a-kind city views along the river while guides point out architectural gems like the corncob-shaped Marina City towers and the Tribune Tower's dreamy neo-Gothic design. If you can, opt for an evening tour—the city lights reflecting on the water are nothing short of incredible.
Snap a Selfie at 'The Bean'
No trip to Chicago is complete without a stop at Cloud Gate—better known as 'The Bean.' This massive, mirrored sculpture in Millennium Park distorts the skyline (and your selfie) in the coolest way.
People hang out as Chicago's skyline is reflected in the Cloud Gate sculpture, otherwise known as "the Bean," in Millennium Park on May 15, 2022.

Laugh The Night Away at Second City
If you need a good laugh, head to the legendary Second City. This comedy theater launched the careers of Tina Fey, Bill Murray, and Tim Baltz from 'The Righteous Gemstones.' Shows run nightly with a mix of improv and sharp sketch comedy.
Bite Into an authentic Chicago-Style Hot Dog
Chicago takes its hot dogs seriously. Anthony Bourdain once called them 'the finest in the land,' and he wasn't wrong. Piled high with mustard, pickles, sport peppers, relish, onions, tomatoes, a dill spear. and celery salt—no ketchup allowed—it's a flavor-packed classic. Grab one at a neighborhood stand or hit up local favorite Superdawg.
Swing By The Legendary Green Mill Jazz Club
Cap off your evening with live jazz at the Green Mill, a historic club that was once Al Capone's go-to hangout during Prohibition. The vibe is old-school cool, the music is top-notch, and if you want the full experience, order a whiskey soda or a local beer—this isn't a craft cocktail kind of place.

Golden Retriever ‘Giving No Fluffs' As Baby Tries To Get by Her Is Such a Big Sister
Golden Retriever 'Giving No Fluffs' As Baby Tries To Get by Her Is Such a Big Sister originally appeared on Parade Pets. Golden Retrievers are, like, the dog to beat. They've spent decades being portrayed as the ultimate dog in the media! Whether you've got kids or you're just a girl living by yourself, this is a breed you probably considered. Mostly, though, they're the family dog. White picket fences and a Golden Retriever is the fantasy. What some people don't understand is that there are multiple facets to being a sibling, even a furry one. Recently, one big sister Golden Retriever showed everyone that she's mastered it! A good sibling needs to be really annoying for no reason sometimes, you know? Skylar the Golden Retriever has it exactly right. Avoid eye contact. Do not move, do not engage. All she's missing is scooting further into his way!Skylar is a 3-year-old Golden Retriever, big sister to Shalom. Shalom adores Skylar, don't get it twisted. However, Skylar is a lot bigger than he is. Sometimes she gets in his way, and she won't get out of it! She's also upwards of 50 pounds, so there's no way he can move her. Not even mom could get her to get out of his way. She tried her best, calling her and telling her to move Skylar must have left her ears elsewhere, though, because she wasn't having it. This is exactly what being a big sister is. Selective hearing and being annoying is important! They made up, though. The baby has officially learned how to bust his big sister out of her crate: Golden Retrievers are very easy dogs in some ways, and in others, they're difficult. For example, many report that these pups are a breeze to potty train, but they get distracted easily. They can be stubborn when they want to be, especially if they're feeling tired. Skylar loves Shalom a lot. She also loves to rest. Sometimes, you know, rest just wins! 🐶🐾🐾 Golden Retriever 'Giving No Fluffs' As Baby Tries To Get by Her Is Such a Big Sister first appeared on Parade Pets on Jul 23, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade Pets on Jul 23, 2025, where it first appeared. Inside NOCTA Manor: Drake and Nike's Immersive Brand Retreat in London
Summary DrakeandNikerecently hosted 'NOCTA Manor,' an immersive, invite-only concept retreat nestled just outside London in the countryside town of Windsor. Built to coincide with Drake's three-night headline run atWireless Festival 2025, the Manor is designed to expand their world ofNOCTAfar beyond apparel and offers a curated look into the evolving universe of their NOCTA brand, bringing together fashion, athletics, music, and hospitality under one highly stylized roof. Set inside a gothic-style estate, the space immediately blurs the lines between luxury living and performance design. From the exterior, the Manor retains its stately, old-world charm. But step inside, and you're met with a fully realized NOCTA ecosystem — thoughtfully divided into three distinct zones: NOCTA Manor, the NOCTA Sports Club, and the Clubhouse. Each space serves a different function, yet all are connected by a unified aesthetic. From branded lounge areas and personalized locker rooms to custom NOCTA boats and a striking yellow and black basketball court set against manicured grounds, every detail is designed to immerse guests in the world of NOCTA. The layout blends high-performance minimalism with a refined, lifestyle-driven sensibility, staying true to the brand's design language while introducing new levels of tactility and intention. Across the multi-day experience, guests were invited to engage with NOCTA in motion. From Nike trainer-led workouts and American football scrimmages to river tours and curated wellness sessions, the experience was as much about movement as it was about rest. An all-star lineup of attendees — including21 Savage,Sexyy Red,Central Cee,Kevin Durant, andDevin Booker— further reinforced the brand's deep cultural roots, bridging the worlds of music, sport, and style into one interconnected atmosphere. Inside, the Manor's interiors were dressed in NOCTA's core palette, with product installations, exclusive apparel previews, and potential first looks at upcoming footwear — including rumored NOCTA x Maverick sneakers. Every detail, from the furniture to the lighting, was intentional, designed to echo the brand's duality: elite performance meets everyday expression. Despite its ultra-exclusive guest list, NOCTA Manor was built for visibility. The retreat's design and programming were meant to be experienced, photographed, and shared. Social posts from attendees quickly transformed the Manor into a viral case study in modern brand immersion. By inviting tastemakers and creatives to live inside the NOCTA world — if only for a weekend — Drake and Nike have redefined what a brand activation can be. More than just a product launch, NOCTA Manor served as a lifestyle installation, one that positioned NOCTA not just as a label, but as a cultural environment. Take a closer look at scenes from the NOCTA retreat below.
