Laurus Labs shares zoom 19% to hit new all-time high. Is there more heat left?
The stock's recent breakout above the Rs 720–Rs 725 range seems to be a key driver behind its bullish momentum.
As Laurus Labs continues its strong upward trajectory, experts are weighing in on how to approach trading at these elevated levels. While some analysts remain bullish, they also caution investors to be strategic, with key support levels and potential profit-taking zones identified.
According to Tejas Shah, Senior Vice President of Technical Research at JM Financial Services, Laurus Labs has experienced a multi-year breakout above the Rs 720–Rs 725 levels, sparking a sharp rally.
He highlighted that this uptrend is supported by increasing volumes during gains and tapering volumes on declines, which is considered a classic sign of healthy accumulation.
The stock continues to trade above its 50-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA), reinforcing the positive trend. Mr. Shah further highlighted the emergence of an Ascending Triangle pattern on the weekly chart, which validates the breakout.

The overall chart structure appears strong, and with the relative strength of the stock and favorable sector tailwinds, Laurus Labs is positioned as a strong outperformer in the near to medium term.
He expects the stock to potentially move towards Rs 890 and Rs 945 over the next 6 to 12 months, with key support seen in the Rs 720–Rs 725 range.

Pravesh Gour, Senior Technical Analyst at
Swastika Investmart
, also weighed in on the stock's strong uptrend, noting that Laurus Labs has made a significant move from the Rs 650–Rs 700 range, showing clear momentum.
The stock is trading above all key moving averages, and the steep upward slope of the 20-SMA and 50-SMA signals strong short-term momentum. Furthermore, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) and the Relative Strength Index (RSI) remain in favour of the stock's bullish momentum.
For existing shareholders, Gour advises trailing the stop-loss below the 9-SMA (Rs 755) to protect profits. He also suggests partial profit booking in the Rs 820–Rs 850 zone if momentum starts to slow down.
For potential new entrants, however, he cautions against aggressive fresh buying at current levels due to the overbought RSI. Instead, he recommends waiting for a retest of the Rs 755–Rs 770 levels or looking for bullish candle confirmation on lower time-frames before entering the stock.
The technical outlook for Laurus Labs suggests a strong uptrend, with bullish momentum supported by solid chart structures and favourable sector conditions. While the stock has shown impressive growth recently, analysts recommend a cautious approach for new buyers at current levels.

Hindustan Zinc's Q1 consolidated net profit drops 4.7% to ₹2,234 crore
Vedanta's subsidiary Hindustan Zinc reported a 4.7 per cent drop in its consolidated net profit to Rs 2,234 crore for the first quarter ending on June 30 (Q1) of FY26, compared with the year-ago quarter, due to lower revenue from operations. Total revenue from operations of the zinc and silver producer was down by 4.4 per cent to Rs 7,771 crore in Q1FY26 on a year-on-year (YoY) basis. Arun Misra, chief executive officer (CEO) of Hindustan Zinc, told Business Standard in an exclusive interaction that the revenue was impacted by lower production volume (down by 5 per cent on a YoY basis in the April-June quarter), lower zinc and lead prices, which was partly offset by higher silver prices and better by-product realisation. 'Our production volume was lower because primarily we had to make certain shutdowns (of furnaces or smelter operations) ahead of schedule, and that has impacted the operations. Otherwise, going forward, the shutdowns are over,' Misra said. Zinc prices were down by 7 per cent, while lead prices were down by 10 per cent, as per the London Metal Exchange (LME) in Q1FY26 on a YoY basis. In contrast, silver prices maintained an upward trend with a 17 per cent YoY increase in Q1. Sequentially, as well, Hindustan Zinc's net profit and revenue decreased by 25.6 per cent and 14.5 per cent, respectively. Meanwhile, the company's other income rose by 4.1 per cent YoY to Rs 279 crore in Q1FY26. 'Despite commodity headwinds and a weaker dollar, our focus on sustainable and efficient production enabled us to deliver a consistent EBITDA margin of around 50 per cent,' said Sandeep Modi, chief financial officer of Hindustan Zinc, in the earnings call. 'Amidst continued global uncertainties, our healthy balance sheet, structurally leaner cost base, and robust growth project pipeline position us well to deliver sustainable long-term value.' The company's profit before interest, depreciation, and tax (PBIDT) dropped by 1.8 per cent YoY to Rs 4,138 crore in Q1. In terms of mined metal production, the company recorded its highest-ever first-quarter production of 265,000 tonnes, up by 1 per cent in Q1 compared with the same quarter last year. However, its refined metal production was down to 250,000 tonnes, in line with plant availability and due to maintenance activities, according to its investor presentation. Silver, on the other hand, remains a key contributor to the company's profitability, accounting for approximately 41 per cent. 'We have prioritised the use of silver-bearing concentrate in quarter one itself, and we will continue to do so. I am very certain that we will have better silver numbers in the remaining part of the year,' Misra added.

Electricity futures to deepen power market, says Sebi Chairman Pandey
As the Indian markets open up for electricity derivatives, Tuhin Kanta Pandey, chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi), on Friday said that the regulator has taken steps to ensure that these contracts remain a tool for hedging rather than undue speculation. Speaking at the launch of electricity monthly futures at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) in Mumbai, the Sebi chairman highlighted that safeguards have been put in place to ensure that electricity derivatives 'remain true to their intended purpose'. Electricity futures are financial contracts that allow participants to lock in the price of electricity for a specified future month without involving any physical power delivery. 'Electricity has been categorised as a highly volatile commodity, thereby attracting a high initial margin requirement. This will discourage undue speculative activity. Additional margins may be imposed in times of heightened volatility,' said Pandey. The electricity futures will help players hedge against price volatility and complement the physical power trading. The key participants who will trade these contracts are power generators, distribution companies, power exchanges, end consumers, and other traders. The Sebi chairman said that these contracts will address challenges such as price volatility in spot markets due to demand-supply dynamics, financial stress on discoms which are locked into long-term power purchase agreements, and facilitate investments in power generation infrastructure and renewable energy. Further, discoms will also be able to procure electricity at predictable prices and avoid extreme short-term price fluctuations and their downstream effects on tariffs and subsidies. 'Electricity derivatives mark the next phase of India's power market reforms. As India marches toward its net-zero commitments and a greener grid, a deep and liquid electricity derivatives market will be essential for a reliable, sustainable, and investor-friendly power sector,' noted the Sebi chairman. On the NSE, the trading of electricity futures contracts started on July 14 with a minimum unit trading of 50 MWh (50,000 units of electricity) and a minimum tick size of Rs 1 per MWh. The exchange has also specified norms for open position limits for individual clients, aggregate limits, and initial margin requirements. These contracts will be cash-settled. The Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) also launched electricity futures contracts on July 10.

Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Retail has acquired the well-known home appliances brand Kelvinator, which was highly popular during the 1970s and 80s. With this acquisition, Reliance aims to further strengthen its presence in the consumer durables sector. Reliance Retail Acquires Kelvinator It pegged the transaction value at SEK 180 million (nearly Rs 160 crore), as the country's largest retailer seeks to accelerate growth in the rapidly expanding premium home appliances market across India. Reliance Retail had earlier used the Kelvinator brand under license from Electrolux Home Products Inc. The brand offers a range of products, including refrigerators, air conditioners, air coolers and washing machines in India. 'The acquisition of Kelvinator marks a pivotal moment, enabling us to significantly broaden our offering of trusted global innovations to Indian consumers. This is powerfully supported by our unmatched scale, comprehensive service capabilities, and market-leading distribution network,' Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd Executive Director Isha M Ambani said in a statement. She further said, 'This is powerfully supported by our unmatched scale, comprehensive service capabilities, and market-leading distribution network.' While Reliance Retail did not disclose the value of the acquisition, Electrolux Group in its interim report for Q2 2025 said 'its operating income included a positive effect from the divestment of the Kelvinator trademark portfolio in India of SEK 180 million' and it had net sales of SEK 31,276 million in the quarter. How Will Acquisition Help Reliance Retail? Reliance Retail said the acquisition of the Kelvinator brand is poised to significantly amplify the company's leadership in India's fast-growing consumer durables sector. According to a joint report by EY and CII, India is the fastest-growing major market for consumer durables in the world and is expected to become the fourth-largest by 2027, with projected market size to reach Rs 3 lakh crore by fiscal year 2029. As per Crisil Ratings, the total industry size for consumer durable segment (TV, refrigerator, AC and washing machine) is estimated at around Rs 1.17 lakh crore in fiscal 2025. The total volume is estimated at 47 million units. The company said by integrating Kelvinator's rich legacy of innovation with Reliance Retail's expansive retail network, the company is set to unlock substantial consumer value and accelerate growth in the rapidly expanding premium home appliances market across India. This synergy will ensure that high-quality, globally-benchmarked products are accessible to every Indian household, enhancing their daily lives, it added. Reliance Retail has in the past boldly acquired legacy brands such as Campa Cola, in the consumer space and relaunched successfully in the market.
