OPPO Find N5 Foldable Phone Launched in UAE and GCC
OPPO, the global smart device brand, has announced the launch of its latest flagship foldable smartphone, the OPPO Find N5, in the UAE and GCC region.
The company revealed that the Find N5 combines a thin and light design with the largest inner display in any book-style foldable. It also features long-lasting battery life and advanced AI-powered performance.
According to Lay Ren, President of OPPO MENA, this launch marks a key milestone in OPPO's commitment to the Middle East. He reported that the Find N5 aligns with the region's demand for innovation and premium experiences.
OPPO Find N5 is just 8.93mm thick and weighs only 229g. It is the world's thinnest book-style foldable when closed. The device offers a secure grip with contoured metal and flat sides. Its design is highlighted by the signature Cosmos Ring and an aircraft-grade fiber back.

OPPO reported that Find N5 is the world's first IPX9-rated foldable, built to withstand high-pressure water jets and extreme temperatures.
The new Titanium Flexion Hinge is 26% smaller and 36% more rigid than the previous version. Made from Grade 5 titanium alloy and Ultra-High Strength Steel, the hinge offers industry-leading durability. The device has also received TÜV Rheinland Reliable Folding Certification.
When unfolded, Find N5 features an 8.12-inch inner display, the largest in its category. The 6.62-inch outer display supports comfortable one-handed use. Both screens support OPPO Pen, enabling productivity and creativity. The displays deliver: Over 400PPI clarity

OPPO noted that Find N5 is the first smartphone to earn TÜV Rheinland's Minimized Crease Certification.
Powering the device is a 5600mAh Silicon-Carbon Battery, offering the best battery life among foldables. With 10% silicon content in a 2.1mm slim battery, the device supports 80W SUPERVOOC wired charging and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging. When paired with the magnetic case, wireless charging becomes faster and more convenient.
The Find N5 is the first foldable to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform, offering a 45% boost in AI performance. It includes hardware-level security for data protection.
Photography is enhanced through the Hasselblad Master Camera System. This includes an ultra-wide camera, wide primary camera with 2x zoom, and a 50MP periscope lens with 70mm focal length. Features such as Hasselblad Portrait Mode, Master Mode, and Dolby Vision 4K/60fps video elevate imaging performance.
The device runs on Android 15 and ColorOS 15, offering five years of security updates. OPPO also introduced smart features such as: Boundless View for three-app multitasking

The OPPO Find N5 is now available across the UAE and GCC with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, priced at AED 7,999.
From May 16 to May 22, customers who pre-order will receive free OPPO Enco X3i earbuds and a one-year screen protection plan worth AED 2,499. After the pre-order period, all purchases will continue to include the Enco X3i earbuds.
OPPO confirmed that Find N5 buyers will benefit from International Warranty Service. This includes repair and upgrade support in official sales regions. Devices out of warranty or with non-covered damage can have parts like the screen, battery, or mainboard replaced for a fee.
The brand reaffirmed its customer-first approach by offering ongoing software updates and access to certified service centers.

Launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Human–Machine Collaboration classification marks a shift in content disclosure standards. The initiative requires government entities to adopt the system immediately, marking a drive towards accountability and public trust in an era of rapid AI integration. The HMC framework comprises five primary icons: All Human, Human-Led, Machine-Assisted, Machine-Led, and All Machine, each reflecting increasing levels of machine involvement. Developers can further specify nine functional icons to indicate AI contribution across tasks such as ideation, data analysis, writing, translation, visuals, and design. ADVERTISEMENT The system, developed by the Dubai Future Foundation and endorsed by Sheikh Hamdan in his capacity as Chairman of its Board of Trustees, is compulsory for all Dubai government research and knowledge publications. Media content, academic papers, technical reports, videos, academic journals and other multimedia outputs must now prominently display the appropriate icons. For non-government creators, the icons are voluntary but available for ethical transparency. Sheikh Hamdan said transparency is essential for distinguishing human creativity from machine efficacy. He urged global content creators—researchers, publishers, writers, and designers—to adopt the new classification as a norm. The HMC system addresses this by offering concise visual indicators of machine involvement throughout a document's lifecycle. Beyond classification, the icons offer practical guidelines. Each icon can appear on the cover, footer, or bibliography of a document, with no numerical thresholds assigned. The nine functional icons enable precise reporting by highlighting stages influenced by AI, such as data collection or translation. The system avoids quantification due to challenges in objectively assessing AI contribution levels. Dubai's icon strategy is modelled on enhancing trust in public knowledge creation. Anthropic will extend its data processing infrastructure on 19 August 2025 to include servers across the United States, Europe, Asia and Australia. This expansion applies to Anthropic API and Claude for Work customers, aiming to enhance operational reliability through geographic redundancy. The company emphasises that data storage will remain strictly within the US. Customers requiring data processing solely within US-based servers must opt out of international regions by the effective date. Those who have already specified this preference through a custom agreement or order form are unaffected and need not take further action. This strategic shift reflects Anthropic's broader infrastructure evolution. As AI workloads grow, the company is adopting a multi-region architecture to reduce latency, enhance service continuity, and bolster failover capabilities. The decision mirrors industry practices where global coverage mitigates regional outages and performance bottlenecks. UAE executives trust AI to take lead on pay rises, recruitment and even personal health
UAE business leaders are showing record-breaking trust in artificial intelligence (AI), with nearly 80 per cent saying they are comfortable with fully automated systems making high-stakes decisions—including those affecting pay, hiring, health, and even personal life choices. The findings, from a new study by next-generation technology firm Endava, show that AI in the UAE is no longer just a support tool—it's becoming a strategic decision-maker. According to the research: 79 per cent of UAE executives trust AI to allocate company budgets, even if those decisions influence individual compensation 80 per cent are comfortable with AI overseeing health and safety functions 79 per cent support AI-driven hiring, performance, and redundancy decisions AI in the UAE Remarkably, the trust in AI extends beyond the workplace. Four in five respondents said they would rely on AI to: Guide their career trajectory Determine ideal salary progression Provide personal financial advice, including retirement planning Offer health recommendations David Boast, General Manager – UAE and KSA at Endava, said: 'Trust is the critical enabler of any AI strategy. The UAE's clear national vision, its youthful and tech-savvy demographic, and its digital-first mindset are combining to give organisations a unique opportunity to innovate with confidence. 'While other regions remain cautious, weighed down by debates over job displacement, our research shows that businesses in the UAE can move forward with certainty, knowing their workforces are not only ready for AI, but actively embracing it.' This growing confidence comes amid the UAE's multi-billion-dollar investments into AI infrastructure and a clear national ambition to lead in the sector. Nearly 46 per cent of respondents believe the UAE is ahead of the global curve in AI adoption, ranking the Middle East third worldwide behind only the US and China.
