Travel content creator Kalash Rajvansh, who regularly shares budget-friendly travel hacks, took to Instagram in November 2024 to share his take on how to explore Nepal on a budget, while keeping the mountain experience intact.
Here are some of the budget-friendly tips Kalash shared: 1. Skip direct flights from India
Kalash pointed out that booking a direct flight from India may be expensive. Instead, he recommended crossing the India-Nepal border, and from there take a domestic flight to Kathmandu or Pokhara for as low as Rs. 3,000- Rs. 4,000. 2. Best seasons to travel
The prices often tend to spike or dip depending on the tourist season, so, of course, when the crowd pours in, demand rises, and so do the rates. Kalash instead suggested planning the trip in February to April or September to October, when one can bag 20-30% discounts on hotels. It's a big win-win situation, as the weather is better and the crowd is also smaller. 3. Opt for hostel dorms
If not hotels, then hostel dorms are also available. A hostel dorm is an accommodation which is in a dormitory style, with multiple bunk beds and lockers. It's one of the go-tos for cheap stays. Kalash shared that hostel dorms cost around ₹ 400- ₹ 500 per night. 4. Eat at local stalls
While it may be tempting to step into fancy cafes and restaurants that promise an aesthetic experience, Kalash pointed out that eating at local stalls is not only much cheaper but also far more authentic, helping you savour the taste of the local cuisine. 5. Public transport
Taxis are usually expensive, especially in the tourist-dense areas. Kalash recommended renting a scooter or bike for Rs. 700 to Rs1,000 per day, which helps you to explore the place at your own pace. Along with this, the bus is also cheap, and it also gives exposure to local life.

If you spill water, you cannot wipe it up with them. If you need to wipe your face or your hands, it is pretty much worthless." She goes on to reveal that these are actually "pastry napkins", which she claims you will only find at bars in Italy. She points to some of the pastry items on her plate and then demonstrates how to use the napkin to hold them up carefully to eat them while keeping your hands clean. Some were in favour of their use, while others were frustrated that they were not absorbent. Jaipur Gets An Hour Closer To Delhi With Bandikui Spur Ready On Delhi-Mumbai Expressway
Last Updated: The four-lane access-controlled spur connects Bandikui with Jaipur and won't just ease journey for commuters but also freight traffic by 20 to 30 per cent in terms of time saving. Reducing the travel time between Delhi and Jaipur by close to an hour, the 67 km Bandikui Spur is ready on the Delhi-Mumbai expressway, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced on Wednesday. The road is open to traffic on a trial basis ahead of formal inauguration. In a post on X, Gadkari said that the new spur will reduce travel time between Delhi and Jaipur from 3 hours 45 minutes to just 3 hours, significantly improving mobility. 'We have successfully completed the 66.916 km long, 4-lane Greenfield Bandikui Spur, constructed at a capital cost of Rs 2,016 crore. This strategically significant project provides direct, access-controlled connectivity between the Delhi – Vadodara Expressway and Jaipur – addressing the lack of a direct route that previously compelled commuters to take longer, fuel-intensive journeys," he said. The commuters going from Delhi have to exit the expressway at Bhandaraj toll plaza in Dausa. The remaining journey had to be completed on the Jaipur-Agra highway (NH 44). Decongestion of Existing Highways, Saving Fuel By offering an alternative route, the spur will help ease traffic pressure on NH 48, NH 44 and NH 21, leading to smoother traffic flow and less wear and tear on these busy corridors. 'This access-controlled road will connect Delhi, Gurugram and Jaipur and ease traffic on the congested NH 44," a ministry official told News18. In the absence of this new road, the travel time from Dausa to Jaipur was around 1.5 to 2 hours. While the travel on the Sohna-Dausa section takes about 2.30 hours. As the direct link was missing, commuters had to take longer and fuel-consuming routes. The spur will cut fuel costs, reduce emissions, and lower logistics expenses by about 20 to 30 per cent, the Ministry official said.
