Almost 200 Marilyn Monroe lookalikes take the plunge for charity swim
Sporting retro swimsuits and blonde wigs, swimmers dressed as the famous film star took the plunge at Balcarrick Beach in Donabate for Marilyn's Mater Paddle.
Sunday's event, now in its second year, was organised to raised funds for women's cancer care in Dublin's Mater Hospital.
The goal was to generate funds to support the hospital in speeding up cancer diagnosis, enhancing treatments and providing world-class care to women from all over Ireland who come through its doors.

In an exclusive interview with the Irish Sun a week on from her victory over the Puerto Rican, Pete sought to dispel preconceptions concerning their relationship. He said: "We posted online that we were training together, but we were still very close. I was still over visiting her. "This is a media thing that me and Katie got back together for the fight. It's not true. "We've always been close, and we've been talking for the last five or six years. It was just that I didn't get involved in the training. "We were always talking boxing. That's just natural. When I call over to her, we go to the gym together. "She just asked me to help out in this camp, and that was it - but it wasn't that we rekindled this relationship. "We were close all the time. "People love these stories. I think they must have boring lives or something, because they're so interested in other people's lives. "I don't post anything about my own personal life on Instagram. Katie's the same, and then, when we put it up, you could say it went viral. "We've always been close. I was actually shocked that it went so viral, to tell you the truth."

Week-long Fleadh festivities to get underway in Wexford from Sunday
Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2025 will kick off on Sunday in Wexford Town for the second year in a row. Approximately 500,000 visitors are expected over the 10-day period of the largest cultural event on the island. Advertisement Singers, musicians, and dancers will gather alongside street performers and big names. RTÉ and TG4 will support Comhaltas Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann as official media partners and, in addition to a large-scale national campaign, RTÉ programmes and presenters will be going to the Fleadh in Wexford town. This year's Fleadh will see another Guinness World Record attempt, after the 2024 event set the record for the largest group playing tin whistles together over a five-minute period. This year, organisers are attempting to break the record for the largest céilí band ever assembled. The Fleadh has something for everyone - with book/music launches, céilís, children's events, concerts, exhibitions, gig rigs, walking tours, as well as lots of food and drink to enjoy. This year's Fleadh will be officially opened by President Michael D Higgins at 3pm on Sunday, August 3rd, with the launch day also featuring the WexWalks Historical Walking Tour, O'Riada Mass, Credit Union Rig Gig, Glenside Céilí Band, and Scoil Éigse.

Seán Rocks: Funeral of RTÉ broadcaster to take place in his hometown Monaghan
The funeral of RTÉ broadcaster and actor Seán Rocks will take place in his hometown of Monaghan on Monday. Mr Rocks, who was the host of arts and culture programme Arena on RTÉ Radio 1, died suddenly at St Vincent's University Hospital on Wednesday following a short illness. Advertisement The 64-year-old, who lived in Dundrum in Dublin, had been on air the previous Friday. In a notice on Mr Rocks' family offered their thanks to the staff at the intensive care unit in St Vincent's for the 'excellent and devoted care' they gave him. They also expressed their appreciation for the kindness extended to them by staff onsite at a very difficult time. Mr Rocks will lie in repose at Clerkins Funeral Home Milltown, Monaghan, on Saturday and Sunday from 3pm until 6pm. The funeral procession will arrive to St Macartan's Cathedral in Monaghan on Monday for 11am mass with burial in the adjoining cemetery. The funeral service will be live streamed.
