Linda Evangelista still can't 'look in the mirror'

Perth Now25-04-2025
Linda Evangelista still doesn't "look in the mirror" following her botched cosmetic procedure.
The 59-year-old supermodel - who previously sued CoolSculpting for $50 million after being left "permanently disfigured" by a non-surgical fat-freezing treatment in 2016 - underwent therapy following the 2021 procedure because she found it hard to even "like" herself afterwards.
She told Harper's Bazaar magazine's Beauty Issue: 'I have to go through therapy to like what I see when I look in the mirror, and I still don't look in the mirror. I didn't want to see myself because I didn't love myself or like myself...
'I'm doing the work, and I'm trying to get to the place where I like myself, flaws and all, and trying to love myself."
Linda underwent a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018 but she is "fine" with the resulting scars, as well as those from other medical treatments, including operations following collapsed lungs on more than one occasion.
She said: 'My double mastectomy, I'm fine with it. I did put in very small implants. What they took out, I put in, cc-wise.
"I've had all those lung surgeries, oh my God, and my keloids and all the chest-tube scars and my C-section scar. There were a lot of surgeries. I'm cool. I'm fine with those. I won. I'm here. I won.'
Despite her struggles, Linda - who has 18-year-old son Augustin with François-Henri Pinault - is "finally getting comfortable" with herself and hopes to lead a long and happy life.
She said: 'I don't care how I age. I just want to age. It doesn't have to be gracefully. I really, really, really don't want to die. I have still so much to do. I'm finally getting comfortable with myself and with everything, and now I want to enjoy it.
'I want to be a grandmother, but not in the immediate future.
'I'm alive. I'm alive. I'm alive, and I'm going to do what I have to do. I'm going to fight because I don't want it any other way. I'm not done.'
The catwalk star still undergoes Botox injections but has had filler dissolved from her face.
She explained: 'I wasn't looking like me.'

World's oldest baby has been born

A baby boy has been named the "world's oldest baby" after he was born from an embryo that was frozen in 1994 and "adopted" 30 years later. Lindsey, 35, and Tim Pierce are the parents of Thaddeus Daniel Pierce - who was born on July 26. Thaddeus' arrival came after the Ohio, USA, couple struggled to conceive for eight years, and chose to "adopt" an embryo. And in May 1994, their embryo was created when Linda Archerd, 62, and her ex-husband underwent in vitro fertilisation (IVF) because they also had difficulty conceiving naturally. Linda and her ex-husband produced four embryos, with one resulting in the birth of their daughter, 30, and the other three were frozen in case they wanted to add to their brood. After the couple split, Linda was awarded custody of the embryos and she later put them up for adoption because Linda felt "it was the right thing to do". Linda gave them to Nightlight Christian Adoptions - a Christian embryo adoption agency - and because the embryos were considered "hard to place", they were placed under its Snowflakes' Open Hearts scheme. And years later, Lindsey and Tim applied for the Snowflakes' Open Hears Scheme, and their dream of becoming parents became a reality following IVF. Lindsey - who had the embryo implanted by the Rejoice Fertility clinic in Tennessee, USA, is quoted by the Daily Mail newspaper as saying: "We are in awe that we have this precious baby. "We had a rough birth, but we're both doing well now."

Isla Fisher ready for next chapter after ‘tough' few years

Following her divorce from Sacha Baron Cohen, Perth-raised Isla Fisher is embracing her next move in a career that's seen her tackle countless genres and multiple continents. The 49-year-old was born in Oman to Scottish parents, then spent her early life in Cambridge in the UK, before her family emigrated to Perth when she was six. In a recent interview with Harpers Bazar, Fisher elaborates on her childhood in Perth and how she considers herself Australian at heart. 'I definitely have a complicated cultural identity because I ended up becoming friends with everyone from all these different backgrounds,' she told Harpers Bazar. 'I feel like a citizen of the world, but Australia is ultimately where I'm the happiest, because my most influential years were spent in Perth.' Fisher attended Perth's Methodist Ladies' College and discovered her passion for acting as a teen; she featured in local TV ads and children's series Bay City and Clowning Around before securing her first major role as Shannon Reed on Home and Away in 1994. Once established in Hollywood, Fisher built a diverse career, earning acclaim in comedies like Confessions of a Shopaholic , thrillers like Now You See Me , and dramas such as Baz Lurhman's The Great Gatsby which Fisher notes was a career highlight. 'Baz was my best experience ever for so many reasons – because of the scale of the sets, the attention to detail visually,' she said. Isla Fisher claims her favourite role has been playing Myrtle Wilson in Baz Luhrmann's 2013 adaptation of The Great Gatsby. 'In my twenties, I don't know if it was homesickness or just life challenges, but I used to cry a lot. I was so worried that I wasn't going to meet anybody or get a job that I wanted. So, I would tell [her], 'Don't worry. It all works out,'' she said. When considering future roles, Fisher is hoping to push herself out of her comfort zone to avoid slipping into being typecast. 'If you do a certain job and you nail that character, every time a character that's similar to that [comes up], a casting director will think of you. Now my goal is to be more fearless around my choices and to push myself into areas where there's room for growth,' Fisher reflects. Fisher admits she's had a 'tough couple of years.' Credit: James Anastasi for Harper's Bazaar / Supplied Fisher's personal life has been in the spotlight for the past few years following her split from actor Sacha Baron Cohen in 2023, after 14 years of marriage. Their divorce was finalised in June, though they have emphasised their mutual respect and commitment to co‑parenting their three children. 'I've had a tough couple of years, but I'm making it through,' remarks Fisher. 'I'm really excited for the next chapter. I'm refocusing on my career, because previously I was very much focused on my kids, which I still am, obviously, because (they're) my true love. But I'm enjoying tackling work again.' Fisher says she's embracing the huge change that comes with the challenge of moving forward post-divorce. 'That's been one of the benefits of a challenging situation: the luxury of asking myself, ' What would I like to do professionally and privately?' I'm trying to remind myself of my new identity as somebody outside of a partnership and to stay as buoyant as possible. Any time there's change, it's hard to adapt. But hopefully I'm doing an okay job, ' she said.

Hulk Hogan's ex-wife Linda Hogan gushed about sharing ‘good old days' with him days before his death

Hulk Hogan's ex-wife Linda Hogan gushed about sharing 'good old days' with the wrestling icon days before his death. Her post has come to light after Hulk passed away aged 71 on Thursday (24.07.25) morning following a cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida. Linda shared a nostalgic photo of her with Hulk on Instagram and captioned it: 'The good old days.' Her throwback snap, taken by a photography agency, showed her gazing at Hogan while dressed in a black costume at a 1996 convention. Hulk, real name Terry Bollea, was pronounced dead at Morton Plant Hospital after emergency services were called at 9.51am and he was treated by fire crews. Linda Hogan, 65, was married to the wrestling star for over two decades before the couple divorced in 2009. The pair were familiar to fans through the VH1 reality show Hogan Knows Best, which aired from 2005 to 2007. Linda and Hulk had two children together – Brooke and Nick – after marrying in 1983 at a ceremony attended by fellow wrestling figures Andre the Giant and Vince McMahon. Despite having previously criticised Hogan in the media, calling him a 'complete liar' and 'sex addict' in a video posted in March, Linda later acknowledged Hulk had been 'a good father'. In recent years, Hulk had faced several health issues, including chronic back and neck pain. Last month, he underwent a four-level Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion, a major spinal surgery. His wife Sky Daily, 45, a yoga instructor whom he married in 2022, addressed false reports at the time Hulk was in a coma. She said: 'His heart is strong, and there was never any lack of oxygen or brain damage. None of those rumors are true.' Writing on Instagram, Sky added: 'He's been recovering from a major four-level Anterior Cervical Discectomy and (Fusion), which is an intense surgery with a long and layered healing process. If you look it up, you'll see what the last six weeks have involved… not just for his spine, but also for his vocal cords, and the eating/breathing tubes that are clamped over during surgery. 'He's healing and we're taking it one day at a time with love, strength, and patience.' Days before Hulk's death, Jimmy Hart, the wrestler's former close friend and ex-manager, posted a health update on X, writing: 'Hulk is doing great, doing phenomenal!' According to police and hospital documents, Hulk had been in and out of medical care for some time prior to his death, which came after a prolonged period of health complications linked to his years of physical exertion in professional wrestling.
