Detroit second baseman Gleyber Torres will lead off for the AL, followed by Tigers left fielder Riley Greene, New York Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge, Seattle catcher Cal Raleigh, Toronto first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr,. Baltimore designated hitter Ryan O'Hearn, Tampa Bay third baseman Junior Caminero, Tigers center fielder Javy Báez, and Athletics shortstop Jacob Wilson.
Ohtani led off for the AL in the 2021 All-Star Game, when the two-way sensation also was the AL's starting pitcher. He hit leadoff in 2022, then was the No. 2 hitter for the AL in 2023 and for the NL last year after leaving the Los Angeles Angels for the Dodgers.

Skenes and Skubal are 1-2 in average four-seam fastball velocity among those with 1,500 or more pitches this season, Skenes at 98.2 miles per hour and Skubal at 97.6, according to MLB Statcast.
Skenes, 23, is 4-8 despite a major league-best 2.01 ERA for the Pirates, who are last in the NL Central. The 2024 NL Rookie of the Year has 131 strikeouts and 30 walks in 131 innings.
Skubal, 28, is the reigning AL Cy Young Award winner. He is 10-3 with a 2.23 ERA, striking out 153 and walking 16 in 121 innings.

Royals reacquire Adam Frazier in an All-Star break trade with the Pirates
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Royals reacquired veteran utility player Adam Frazier in an All-Star break trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Kansas City sent minor league infielder Cam Devanney to Pittsburgh. Frazier, 33, has played in 78 games this season split between second base, left field and right field, hitting .255 with 21 RBIs. He spent last season with KC after bouncing around the majors following his start with the Pirates and has played every position except catcher and pitcher during his career since debuting in 2016. Frazier joins the Royals as they are 4 1/2 games back of the American League's final wild-card spot. They are 12 games behind Detroit for first in the AL Central. Devanney, 28, has spent this season at Triple-A Omaha and has not yet made his major league debut.

Sky forward Angel Reese held out for 'precautionary' reasons vs. Dream due to leg injury
Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese will not play in Wednesday afternoon's game against the Atlanta Dream, the team announced. The Sky said Reese has a leg injury, but didn't designate which leg is injured or how she was injured. Sky head coach Tyler Marsh said Reese will sit out for "precautionary" reasons. Reese scored 22 points and 10 rebounds in her last game against the Minnesota Lynx Reese is scheduled to play for Team Napheesa Collier in the WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday against Team Caitlin Clark in Indianapolis. Clark's availability for the game is also in question following a right groin injury late in Tuesday's game against the Connecticut Sun. Reese is averaging 14 points, a WNBA-leading 12.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.6 steals per game this season, shooting 45% from the field for Chicago (7-14).

Players poll forecasts Caitlin Clark as future face of the WNBA
As Saturday's WNBA All-Star Game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis swiftly approaches, The Athletic has been conducting an anonymous survey based on the opinions of 40 non-rookie WNBA players across the league's 13 teams on various superlatives. On Monday, the publication released its results on who the group of players felt was the league's top athlete, as well as the top "trash-talker", with Minnesota Lynx's Napheesa Collier and Phoenix Mercury's Alyssa Thomas each claiming the top spot. On Tuesday, The Athletic revealed the results behind who the anonymous pool of players believed would be the face of the WNBA in the next five years, which showed Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark as the victor by a landslide margin. According to the data collected, Clark received 53.8% of the total votes. In a distant second place is current USC guard JuJu Watkins with 17.9% of the vote, followed by Dallas Wings' 2025 No. 1 overall pick and current rookie guard Paige Bueckers at 14.1% in third, Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese in fourth place at 6.4%, and Las Vegas Aces center A'Ja Wilson closing out the top five with 3.8%. Players such as Los Angeles Sparks forward Cameron Brink and Seattle Storm forward Dominique Malong combined to represent the remaining 3.8% of the vote. Contrary to the opinion of her peers in the WNBA All-Star players' vote, Clark's influence on the league's rapidly growing popularity, record-setting television viewership numbers, and her inspiration amongst the younger generation was properly acknowledged. While Clark continues her second year in the WNBA, time will tell whether she will indeed become the face of the league amongst both the fans and her peers.
