Christina Aguilera Puts a Gothic Spin on Her Early 2000s Hair and Makeup Combo at ‘Burlesque: The Musical' Photo Call
Christina Aguilera evolved her early 2000s beauty combo into an otherworldy aesthetic for the 'Burlesque: The Musical' photo call in London on Monday night. Instead of the bold, fiery red lipstick she once routinely partnered with her bleach blond hair, the 'Lady Marmalade' vocalist opted for a darker, more sinister lip shade and a stark hair color. Outside the Savoy Theatre, Aguilera's moody makeup consisted of dark brown brows undercut by white-gold shimmer on her lids, lash clusters on the outer corners of her eyes, highlight layered over a purple-toned blush on her cheekbones and a deep wine-colored lipstick that blended seamlessly with her black lip liner. There was a thin stripe of charcoal shimmer under her waterline, bringing out her cool-toned contour on the sides of her face. More from WWD EXCLUSIVE: Revlon Teams With Guy Fieri to Drop a Wing-inspired Lip Balm Named 'Flavortown' How Christina Aguilera's 'Burlesque' Style Has Evolved in 15 Years: From Classic Hollywood Flair to West End Edge Noah Cyrus Channels Amy Winehouse While Joining the Beehive Trend Revival For the most part, Aguilera's hair was its typical bleach blond shade. In certain lights, however, it appeared as if the coloring was tinged with white; her dark roots casting a shadow around her head. Her long tresses were flat-ironed and smoothed down, brushing over the front of her shoulders. Partnered with her murky green ribbon corset gown and black over-the-knee baggy boots, her entire aesthetic settled somewhere between the Evil Witch in 'Snow White' and a rebellious, medieval princess, both a far cry from the soft, old Hollywood-esque glam she donned over the weekend at the 'Burlesque: The Musical' show. Typically, Aguilera will collaborate with makeup artist Etienne Ortega — who also works with Lana Del Rey, Kris Jenner, Mariah Carey and Demi Lovato — and hair architect Igor Rosales; however, it's not confirmed whether either worked with her on this look. Even at the very beginning of her career, with the launch of her debut album in 1999, Aguilera was always a fan of a heavy eye look and prominent lip shade. The cover of her eponymous record saw her pose with ultra-thin brows — a resurging beauty trend now — and black shadow dragged over her lids and under her eyes. Moving into the 2010s, the 'Beautiful' singer centered her persona around her love for red lipstick. Occasionally, she would wear a pale nude color, but it was a rare sighting when she wasn't sporting a vibrant shade. In the years since, she's noticeably leaned into natural makeup trends, wiping away her matte lip for a glossy pink one instead. Aguilera starred in the film version of 'Burlesque' alongside Cher in 2010. Simone Ashley and Pauline Chalamet Film ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2'
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is currently filming in New York City, which means fans and paparazzi have been around much every single shoot that takes place in public. And so far there are a lot—like, to the point where multiple looks of Anne Hathaways have already been leaked. But on top of Anne (and Meryl Streep!) being spotted filming the highly anticipated sequel, The Devil Wears Prada newcomers Simone Ashley and Pauline Chalamet were just seen on set by fans. Obsessed! And here's a closer look at Simone Ashley's dress, which appears to be the Harness Tapestry Dress by Monse (FYI Taylor Swift wore a similar one to the VMAS). Discover our alien UFO print, inspired by the iconic sci-fi films of the 1950s. This nostalgic design adds a playful yet sophisticated twist to your wardrobe, blending vintage charm with modern flair. Perfect for making a statement wherever you go! According to Variety, The Devil Wears Prada 2 follows Miranda Priestly "as she navigates her career amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing and as she faces off against Blunt's character, now a high-powered executive for a luxury group with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs." Other new additions to the cast include Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Helen J. Shen, Conrad Ricamora, Caleb Hearon, and Kenneth Branagh. No info yet on Simone and Pauline's roles (they were cast in early July so this is all very new), but judging from their characters fashionable fits they appear to be Runway adjacent. Meanwhile, Anne Hathaway spoke about rebooting The Devil Wears Prada and The Princess Diaries with WWD, saying "I was so beautifully cared for on both of those films. I was a baby, like a legal child, when I made Princess Diaries — I turned 18 while we were making it, and I was a very, very young woman when I made Devil Wears Prada. I was so guided and looked after and cared for by the communities that made both of those films in particular, each of their directors, Garry Marshall and David Frankel. I'm so excited that now I can do that for other people, that now I have the knowledge and the experience and the confidence to take care of other people on sets in which I'm looked at as a leader."

How Lindsay Lohan Reimagined the Princess Look in Miu Miu for the ‘Freakier Friday' Premiere
Lindsay Lohan had a Disney princess moment in a blush pink custom Miu Miu dress for the premiere of 'Freakier Friday' in Los Angeles on Tuesday. Lohan's custom gown featured a fitted bodice and a V-shaped neckline. The dress included a cinched waist, which flared out into a flowing skirt. Throughout the soft pink shade of the dress were silver sparkling elements that added a touch of whimsy and a princess-like sensibility to the ensemble. The straps of the Miu Miu look were also encrusted with silver gems. More from WWD How Christina Aguilera's 'Burlesque' Style Has Evolved in 15 Years: From Classic Hollywood Flair to West End Edge Noah Cyrus Channels Amy Winehouse While Joining the Beehive Trend Revival Margaret Qualley Makes the Case for Summertime Knits at 'Happy Gilmore 2' Premiere The actress added further to her princess look, wearing Lorraine Schwartz's rose-cut diamond and pink diamond necklace and earring set. Among other accessories, Lohan nodded to the original 'Freaky Friday' with her purse, which carried a Judith Leiber silver microphone clutch. The purse was crafted with gradient flatback crystals on the bold dome and the stem, covered in silver crystal in a geometric pattern with round crystals for a unique web effect. When it came to her glam, Lohan turned to hairstylist Danielle Priano, who gave the actress' blond tresses a soft wave and styled her hair with a middle part. Lohan's makeup, by artist Ash K. Holm, featured bold brows, lined eyes and a soft, glossy lip. Lohan's look was curated by stylist Andrew Mukamal, who's also collaborated with Vanessa Kirby during her 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' press tour. Lohan's Disney princess-inspired gown coincides with a recent collaboration between Disney and Coperni. The Parisian brand's spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection took place at Disneyland Paris, with cofounders Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant crafting a collection partially inspired by the company. 'It's probably the biggest project of our life,' Vaillant said at the time. Disney's collaborations with other brands extends well beyond fashion. The 101-year-old entertainment company's Disney princesses, in particular, were previously highlighted with Bath & Body Works and Aldo collaborations, among others. Other Disney stars have also followed suit with similar princess-inspired dressing. Rachel Zegler, who stars in the live-action iteration of 'Snow White,' wore gowns by Elie Saab and Dior during her press tour for the film. 'Freakier Friday,' starring Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, is a sequel to the 2003 film 'Freaky Friday.' The movie follows mother-daughter pair Tess and Anna, played by Curtis and Lohan respectively, as they find themselves in the midst of yet another identity crisis similar to the one they experienced 22 years ago. The film hits theaters Aug. 8.
