Sabrina Carpenter is being lined up to star in 'Mamma Mia! 3'.
The 'Espresso' hitmaker is wanted by producer Judy Craymer to star in the third movie based on the ABBA musical of the same name in a role connected to the late Donna Sheridan–Carmichael (Meryl Streep).

Craymer told Deadline: "She'd be a goddess or some relation who would look very much like Meryl Streep."

Sabrina, 26, is known to be a huge fan of ABBA and has performed some of the legendary Swedish group's hits on her Short n' Sweet tour.
The producer came up with the idea for the 'Mamma Mia!' musical, which launched in London's West End back in 1999, and explained that she has a script ready to go for the third flick.
Craymer said: "Well, we know what we want to do with the movie, and it will happen.

"And I mean, we brought together this amazing group of movie stars that were all connected through it, and huge friendships evolved."
The original 'Mamma Mia!' film was released in 2008 and featured an all-star cast including Streep, Pierce Brosnan and Amanda Seyfried. It was followed by the sequel 'Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again' in 2018.
Seyfried has previously championed the idea of Sabrina appearing in the third flick as her character Sophie's daughter should the movie come to fruition.

Quizzed about the prospect despite the singer only being 13 years her junior, the 39-year-old actress told ABC News last year: "You know what? Old age makeup for me. That's what it will be. ... I'm an actor. I'll do it.
"If Sabrina Carpenter wants to play my daughter, I'll make it happen. It's fine. She's ... I'm a big fan."
Amanda revealed at the time that she hadn't seen a screenplay for the third 'Mamma Mia!' installment but underlined that "everybody says it's gonna happen".

She said: "'Mamma Mia! 3', let's go baby.
"Everybody says it's gonna happen. But I mean, I haven't seen a script."
Fellow cast member Christine Baranski previously revealed that Craymer was working on getting a third entry in the franchise to the big screen.

She told The Hollywood Reporter: "I was in London with Judy Craymer at our favourite watering hole, she is planning 'Mamma Mia! 3'. She gave me the narrative plotline of how it's going to happen. That's all I can say!
"But, it's not like, 'Oh, I wish it could happen!' Judy Craymer makes things happen."
Baranski is convinced that the producer has the pulling power to get such a starry cast back together for a third film.

The 73-year-old actress said: "[Craymer] made number two happen, and it was a phenomenal hit. I wouldn't put it past Judy Craymer to get everybody back together."

WNBA star Sophie Cunningham brutally mocks league bosses after being punished for TikTok video

Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham has slammed the WNBA after revealing she was fined $500 for criticizing referees. The guard, who has been christened Caitlin Clark 's 'enforcer' this season, recently released a TikTok in which she called out 'some refs' in the league. Clark is among the other stars to have clashed with officials but Cunningham has now been punished over her comments. In the viral video, she wrote '@ some refs' while mouthing a line from Sabrina Carpenter's hit, 'Manchild.' The lyrics she lip-synced were: 'Stupid. Or is it slow? Maybe, it's useless' On Wednesday, Cunningham took to social media once more to reveal her punishment and mock the WNBA. 'I got fined $500 for this TikTok,' Cunningham wrote on X alongside several laughing emojis. I got fined $500 for this TikTok 🤣🤣 idk why this is funny to me… like ok 👍🏼 you got it bud! Cause there's not more important things to be worried about with our league right now — Sophie Cunningham (@sophaller) July 23, 2025 'Idk (I don't know) why this is funny to me…like ok (thumb emoji) you got it bud! Cause there's not more important things to be worried about with our league right now.' She then reposted a reply that read: 'The endless WNBA war on the people who are bringing attention to their product while protecting the behavior that turns people off NEVER ceases to amazed me.' The Fever star did not specify what she meant by 'more important things.' But her comments come amid tension between the WNBA and its players over a new collective bargaining agreement. At least week's All-Star Game, Clark and many of her WNBA rivals staged a protest. They wore t-shirts which read: 'Pay Us What You Owe Us' Cunningham previously made headlines after criticizing the WNBA's expansion plans. Earlier this season, the league announced plans to add teams in Cleveland (2028), Detroit (2029) and Philadelphia (2030). 'You want to listen to your players, too. Where do they want to play? Where are they going to get excited to play and draw fans?' Cunningham said. 'I do think that Miami would have been a great (location). Nashville is an amazing city. Kansas City, amazing opportunity.' She continued: 'I'm not so sure what the thought process is there, but at the end of the day, you want to make sure that you're not expanding our league too fast. 'I think that that's also another thing. It's kind of a hard decision-making situation. But man, I don't know how excited people are to be going to Detroit or (Cleveland).'

'Hopeless romantic' Welsh sends his gang looking for love

But it is the characters he created for Trainspotting that he keeps returning to – even if their latest adventures may be something of a departure for Renton, Sick Boy, Spud and Begbie. Read more: The fourth sequel to Trainspotting, which picks up shortly after the end of the first novel, sees them leaving heroin behind in pursuit of romance and raves. And Welsh has admitted he has drawn on his own experience as a 'pretty hopeless romantic' for the novel, which sees the characters seeking sex and looking for love in London, Amsterdam, Paris and their home city of Edinburgh, where Welsh suddenly emerged as a major new literary voice in the early 1990s. Irvine Welsh shot to fame with his debut novel Trainspotting in 1993. (Image: Getty) Within three years of Trainspotting's publication, it had been turned into an acclaimed feature film starring Ewan McGregor, Robert Carlyle, Ewen Bremner and Jonny Lee Miller, who were reunited in 2016 for a sequel set around 20 years on from the original. Men In Love, Welsh's latest novel, is the second Trainspotting novel since the movie sequel, although the new book unfolds as the 1980s are drawing to a close with Margaret Thatcher still Prime Minister and rave culture sweeping the UK. Welsh said: 'I've never really left these characters behind. They are in my head as the go-to guys that I'm always writing stories about to try to understand the world. 'To write a novel I really need to have a theme. I really wanted to write a positive book as there is so much hate in the world just now. I wanted to get people thinking about the more emotional and romantic side of life.' Welsh has been working on Men In Love since getting married for a third time, in 2022. He said: 'I was thinking back to that era when guys in their twenties first get serious about romance and their partner becomes more important than their mates, but they are not really equipped for it. 'I was looking back and thinking about how useless most guys are at that time. I thought I'd get the most useless guys of all and see how they shape up. 'I think I've always been quite serious about relationships. I was always obsessed with any women who were daft enough to go out with me. I've always been a pretty hopeless romantic at heart.' Welsh, who worked in Edinburgh City Council's housing department before pursuing a career as a writer, said he had never intended to create a whole series of books on the Trainspotting characters. The author told The Herald: 'I don't know if it is a blessing or a curse, but I have always lived in the present. I don't really have the ability to look back or forward. 'When I go out with pals they come out with all these stories and tell me what I was wearing 35 years ago. I can't even remember what colour of underpants I put on in the morning. 'I always said in the past that I was done with the characters from Trainspotting, but I'm not going to say that now. I will probably revisit them again. 'But I've just written a contemporary book, which is coming out next year, which is set in Las Vegas and has a whole new cast of characters. It's a very different book, which has been incredibly freeing to write.' While his new book offers Welsh's fans a nostalgic trip, the author bemoans the impact of new technology on younger generations, society, culture and nightlife. The author said: 'Things have changed massively, when I think about the freedom that we had. We could do anything. 'The internet was supposed to be this great liberation, but it's become such an intrusive and confining thing now. We are being monitored all the time and we are policing each other. 'I do think about how much more boring my life would have been if we had had the internet, surveillance technology and all that kind of stuff back then. I do really feel for the youth of today. They are not really allowed to transgress in any way. 'Nobody has really got money to do anything now. That's the main reason pubs are shutting down. 'So many music and literature festivals have shut down this summer because people just don't have the money to go to them. 'The internet is also driving us to a post-culture society where a lot of people, particularly working-class people, are not engaging in culture in any way. It's a horrible development.' Welsh's interest in music has seen him co-write a Trainspotting stage musical, which is hoped to be launched next year, and release a disco-inspired Men In Love album to coincide with the release of his new novel. After his book launches in Edinburgh and Glasgow this week, he will also be performing late-night DJ sets at the official after-parties. Welsh will also be making further appearances in his home city over the next few weeks, with a Men In Love book festival event and the world premiere of a new documentary, Reality Is Not Enough, made by Edinburgh-based filmmaker Paul Sng, who followed the author around the world for more than a year. The film, which is described as 'a gripping and revealing deep dive' into the mind of the author, is said to find Welsh 'at a crossroads, acutely aware of his own mortality.' Welsh said: 'By god, it makes me look interesting, which is quite an achievement. 'You spend so much time in your own head, you don't really perceive of yourself as someone who has an interesting life. 'You are in all these locations, talking to different people and doing different things. You don't really think of it as being particularly glamorous as you are transit all the time. 'But I have met so many interesting people down the years. 'In some ways, watching the documentary was like meeting a version of myself for the first time.' Welsh is launching Men In Love days before the main Edinburgh Festival season gets underway. He said: 'It's great that the Festival happens, but the downside of it is that we put all our eggs into the one cultural basket. It's an importation. There's not really a living, breathing thing going in the town.'

Kerry Katona goes solo as she lands new job without Katie Price amid tour chaos

Former Atomic Kitten star Kerry Katona has landed a huge new job amid her on and off tour with best pal Katie Price as they've been hit with cancellations and scheduling woes Kerry Katona hasn't let her pal Katie Price get in the way of her heading out on the road, as she secures a new lucrative deal. The former Atomic Kitten star, 44, suffered a setback when her scheduled appearance with the former glamour model, 47, was cancelled at the last minute. ‌ They also revealed they would be travelling the country on a mammoth tour, stopping off at over 30 towns before it was cancelled. However, Katie and Kerry managed to revive their shows as just weeks later they confirmed it was back on. ‌ While their tour looks set to happen, Kerry has secured another all on her own. Without needing to rely on mate Katie, Kerry is set to spend two months on the stage as part of the cast of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. ‌ The theatre show of the hit movie will travel across the UK in June and July next year as Kerry takes centre stage. Kerry's agency confirmed the exciting project as they said: "Our client @kerrykatona7 will be touring in the musical Here We Go Again in June and July 2026 across the U.K. and Ireland." Her celebrity pals have already signed up to support her when the tour kicks off as Love Island's Olivia Hawkins commented: "Yessssss finally! Superstar! Ready to be front row." ‌ The news comes as Kerry has faced uncertainty over her performances with Katie. This past weekend, Katie pulled out of Glasgow Pride due to "another urgent obligation." It came just weeks after she and Kerry pulled out of Barnsley Pride due to "unforeseen circumstances" and "personal reasons." Back in May, Katie and Kerry also cancelled their entire "tell-all" tour, which had been scheduled to visit venues around the UK. An Evening With Katie Price & Kerry Katona was given the axe when Katie was reportedly prevented from committing due to her "busy schedule." ‌ A source told The Sun: "Katie is gutted and tried everything she could to make it work, but she has had to step away from the tour because she has childcare commitments and also a very busy schedule." However, the tour is now back on and the shows will go ahead as originally planned. A source added to the publication: 'For the last few weeks, the team putting this together have been in crisis talks with Katie's people and they've managed to find a solution that suits everyone. "Some of the dates will be rescheduled to fit around Katie's childcare clashes, meaning she is back in. Everyone behind the scenes is thrilled because it would have been a financial nightmare to pay back all the tickets that had been re-sold. "Katie and Kerry are chuffed too as they didn't want to let any fans down.' Their show will kick off in September in Ellsmere Port and end the following month in Hull. The pals plan to "share stories of their friendship, marriage and divorce, bankruptcy, 'I'm A Celebrity', the importance of family, their constant press attention and turning their lives around."
