Homa has been having a tough time this year with 16 events played and only 1 top 25 finish. This time he has a shot at the John Deere Classic trophy. He opened up about his feelings during a press conference on Friday.
But alongside his sentiments, he made a surprising revelation about his wife, Lacey Homa, and fellow PGA Tour golfer Rickie Fowler. They go way back to high school, and Fowler used to give Lacey rides to school.
"They used to live by each other. They've known each other forever. He's in her older brother's yearbook, so it's kind of funny. Small world." Homa revealed.

Homa is a good friend of Fowler and he expressed his enjoyment playing with his buddy during a press conference on Thursday.

"I'm super lucky to have a group like that. Two of my closest buddies out here." Homa said. "I've known Rick and Jake forever. So three SoCal guys in the same group and everybody started making a lot birdies, so that was fun."
Homa is eyeing the trophy this time around. This is his best 36-hole performance this year.
"It's definitely the best 36 holes off the tee I've had in a while consecutively, so that's nice. I'm just trying keep getting better every day," he said on Friday.
"I don't particularly worry about what place I'm in on the leaderboard. If I'm up near it on Sunday, that's when you start to think a little bit and game plan."

Rare Footage of Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash Recording Duet in 1969 Has Fans Reeling

Rare Footage of Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash Recording Duet in 1969 Has Fans Reeling originally appeared on Parade. When it comes to iconic musical partnerships, it doesn't get much better than Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash. Not only did the legendary musicians have a decades-long friendship — they started out as pen pals — Dylan and Cash collaborated multiple times, a fact some fans are just learning now. In 1969, Cash joined Dylan in the recording studio during his Nashville Skyline sessions on a number of tracks, though only one — "Girl From the North Country" — would go on to be included on the album, as ScreenRant reported. Years later, Dylan would release the remaining tunes on 2019's The Bootleg Series Vol. 15: Travelin' Thru, 1967-1969, including a version of "One Too Many Mornings" (from Dylan's 1964 album The Times They Are a-Changin'). After a clip of Dylan and Cash recording "One Too Many Mornings" resurfaced this week on Instagram, fans were quick to express their amazement. "Never heard Dylan sing like that. Wild footage," one person wrote, with a second saying, "I wish I could have been there." "MAGIC," declared someone else, as another declared, "This a banger if you know you know." Later that year, Dylan and Cash were reunited when the former made an appearance on The Johnny Cash Show, where he sang "I Threw It All Away" and the pair reprised their "Girl From the North Country" duet. Following Cash's death in 2003, Dylan paid tribute to his friend and creative partner in a eulogy for Rolling Stone. 'I think we can have recollections of him, but we can't define him any more than we can define a fountain of truth, light and beauty," he wrote, adding, 'If we want to know what it means to be mortal, we need look no further than the man in black."Rare Footage of Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash Recording Duet in 1969 Has Fans Reeling first appeared on Parade on Jul 4, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jul 4, 2025, where it first appeared.

DeWanna Bonner to reportedly sign with Mercury after being waived by Fever

Weeks after a messy breakup with the Indiana Fever, WNBA veteran DeWanna Bonner has found her new landing spot. Bonner is reportedly expected to sign with the Phoenix Mercury, a team where she spent the first decade of her career, per ESPN. Bonner's return to Phoenix will mark a sweet homecoming: The 37-year-old was drafted by the Mercury in 2009, spending 10 seasons with the team and winning two WNBA championships (2009 and 2014). Three of Bonner's six All-Star nods came while she was in Phoenix. The other three came with the Connecticut Sun, where Bonner played for the past five seasons before signing with Indiana this offseason. Bonner was one of the Fever's flashiest offseason signings, agreeing to a one-year, $200,000 deal with Indiana with the hopes of giving the team a veteran boost. She became the WNBA's third-time leading scorer at the beginning of the season, during the Fever's sold-out season opener. Advertisement But things quickly went sour, as Bonner went from an early-season starter to being benched in favor of guard Lexie Hull. As a result, the forward reportedly wanted out of Indiana, and missed multiple weeks in June due to "personal reasons." Bonner was released by the Fever on June 25 after the team failed to find a trade partner. The veteran has only played in nine games this season, averaging 7.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists. She hasn't played since June 10. Now, Bonner will reportedly join a thriving Mercury team, which is currently tied for second in the league with a 12-6 record, winning seven of their last ten games. Bonner will join her fiancée and former Sun teammate Alyssa Thomas in Phoenix, and will also take the court alongside stars like Satou Sabally and Kahleah Copper.

LSU top NFL Draft prospect Garrett Nussmeier reveals key to denying transfer portal

The 2026 NFL Draft, at first glance, offers several enticing quarterback prospects, spanning different archetypes, journeys, and physical traits. No quarterback in this class has the athleticism of South Carolina's LaNorris Sellers. Texas' prodigal son, Arch Manning, has taken casual college football fans by storm. Clemson's Cade Klubnik, Indiana's Fernando Mendoza, and Penn State's Drew Allar should all make plays for Round 1, too. Among the Heisman hopefuls and potential first-round picks is LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, who had the opportunity to search for greener pastures after a 9-4 season kept the Tigers out of the College Football Playoff. Instead, he stayed home in Baton Rouge, opting to conclude his collegiate career where it started. Advertisement Nussmeier's loyalty stands out in NIL era There's nothing wrong with a prospect pivoting to a bigger school for a better shot at the NFL or a player maximizing their earnings in a sport known to end careers in a flash. But there's something satisfying about continuity and finishing what one started. Nussmeier has a chance to do that with the Tigers. Part of the reason why Nussmeier may have been convinced to stay was the talent waiting for him at LSU. Draftable talents at receiver like Nic Anderson and Aaron Anderson complement a strong defense, opening the door for a playoff run this winter. Nussmeier recently spoke with Yahoo Sports about keeping his focus on the Tigers, despite the temptations waiting for him in the college football offseason. Advertisement 'For me, I'm just focused on our team,' Nussmeier said. 'I'm focused on our team goals and I'm focused on being the best that I can be for my teammates. Obviously, you can't completely ignore all the outside noise. You're lying if you say that you don't hear it. So I definitely hear it. 'As I spoke about, our team with the expectations coming from within, I obviously have expectations for myself, as well. The way that I kind of straddle those and keep those in check is focusing on our team. My main goal is to help lead the LSU Tigers to a national championship and let the rest fall into place.' MORE: Arch Manning not a top-two CFB QB, insiders say Nussmeier will enter the year as one of the top quarterbacks in this class and a fairly comfortable first-round pick. With an entire season until the NFL Draft, he'll have to play well to maintain his stock. Still, there's reason to believe in his upside. Advertisement The son of former NFL quarterback Doug Nussmeier, LSU's senior passer has a good grasp of the offense and uses it to his advantage. He's a big-game hunter with a strong enough arm to capitalize on his aggression, even with an undersized (6'1", 200 pounds) frame. LSU knows what it has at the sport's most important position, throwing (and completing) more passes than any team in the SEC a season ago. His 12 interceptions also led the conference, although the rest of his production profile, including 4,052 yards and 29 touchdowns, helps offset those concerns. Continuity at quarterback is important, and with a top prospect under center, the Tigers are poised to find success in 2025. With a strong season, Nussmeier could follow Joe Burrow and Jayden Daniels' footsteps and help establish LSU as a quarterback factory. MORE NCAA NEWS
