'Liverpool fans will take to Kerkez'
BBC Radio Solent's Jordan Clark says Milos Kerkez has developed "a great deal" at Bournemouth but feels there is more to come from him. Having covered the full-back extensively when working for the station, Clark told BBC Radio Merseyside: "I think Liverpool fans will take to him very quickly. He is a player that can get you from one end of the pitch to the other very quickly and cause some damage at the right end of the pitch but also has developed into a really good defender too over the last couple of seasons."One goal that stands out to me from last season was the one Bournemouth scored at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium where he picked the ball up on the edge of his own 18-yard area and before you knew it, the ball was in the back of the net at the other end."That was the other thing they really wanted to add to his game this season, Andoni Iraola spoke about it and Kerkez himself talked about it quite a bit himself too - was more in the final third. "You could see the potential there but certainly in the season just gone by he has added assists and a couple of goals to go with that as well. A really exciting prospect who has already developed a great deal over the last couple of seasons and you only feel there is more to come from him too."Personality-wise I think Liverpool fans will take to him. He's a bit of a livewire, high energy, definitely one of the louder ones in the dressing room, lots of personality and I'm sure that will fit in nicely at Anfield."Listen to the full interview on BBC Sounds

Western Force 7-54 British & Irish Lions PLAYER RATINGS: Who was imperious in Perth? Which star made a case to partner Maro Itoje and who had an ill-fated audtion?
The 2025 British & Irish Lions bounced back from their tour's false start against Argentina last week to claim a 54-7 over Western Force in Perth. But given that warm-up matches are judged by performances rather than results, Andy Farrell still has much to ponder after a solid, if unimpressive, first-half display.

Sunderland make club-record signing in £30m deal as Black Cats make statement of intent on return to Premier League
Sunderland have made a statement of intent ahead of their first Premier League season in eight years by signing a player for a club-record fee. The Black Cats will bolster their midfield with a £30million signing of a player who has shone in Ligue 1 for Strasbourg. He made his debut for them in 2021 and has gone on to make 92 league appearances for the French side. But the player in question is now set for a big-money move to the Premier League ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. The midfielder has also made 11 appearances at international level for Senegal since making his debut in 2024. Now he will have a chance to impress on a bigger stage ahead of his move to the Stadium of Light. Regis Le Bris will be hoping to keep his side in the top flight after winning promotion Habib Diarra will make the switch to Wearside in a transfer that was confirmed by Fabrizio Romano. His move comes after Sunderland secured promotion to the top flight courtesy of a dramatic play-off final victory over Sheffield United in May. Regis Le Bris' side were trailing for the majority of the contest after Tyrese Campbell's 25-minute opener. But Sunderland drew level with 14 minutes remaining thanks to Eliezer Mayenda's strike to drag them back into the contest. Their supporters were then sent into dreamland when substitute Tom Watson scored in the 95th minute to seal his team's ascension to the Premier League. Sunderland will be hoping their latest campaign in the top flight is far more successful than the last time they were in English football's premier division. The 2016-17 season was one to forget on the pitch as they finished bottom of the table with just six wins all season. That saw them rooted to 20th position as they ended the campaign 16 points from safety - a feat they will hope they do not emulate under Le Bris.

Tottenham told to raid Liverpool after Arsenal muscle in on Eze transfer
Tottenham are looking for reinforcements ahead of Thomas Frank's first season at the helm at Anfield and former star Jamie O'Hara believes he knows who the perfect signing would be Tottenham have been told to make a move for Liverpool star Harvey Elliott following his starring England under-21 role this summer. The former Fulham starlet has turned in some brilliant displays for the Young Lions at the Euros. He has scored four goals throughout the tournament - his brace against the Netherlands sealing their spot in the final against Germany. And O'Hara believes the youngster would be an excellent alternative to Crystal Palace 's Eberechi Eze, who is being eyed by North London rivals Arsenal. Speaking on talkSPORT, the former Tottenham star said: 'I'd have him at Tottenham. 100 per cent I'd have him at Tottenham. He'd play on the right and compete with Brennan Johnson and Dejan Kulusevski. 'Kulusevski is quite a similar player, but I think Harvey Elliott has got something about him. He can play in the No10, further back in central midfield – there's a lot to like and he's only 22. He could definitely play for a team that is playing in Europe.' Elliott's future with current employers Liverpool is far from certain. He has just two years remaining on his contract at Anfield, having started just six games under Arne Slot last season. The midfielder still managed to score five and notched three assists. He admitted that he might be forced to look elsewhere for first team football. 'It's just a situation that me and the team on my behalf have to have a conversation about,' Elliott said earlier this month. 'I'm coming into an age now where I'm 22, I'm going to be 23 next season and I don't really want to be wasting years on my career because it's a short career. 'You don't know what's going to happen. Touch wood it doesn't, but injuries and things, it could shorten it. It's a situation that, as I've said before, I need to reflect. I need to see if I'm content in doing what I'm doing and how can I improve as a player because that's the most important thing. That's the main thing, really. Should Liverpool sell Harvey Elliott please? Share your thoughts in the comments below 'I just want to improve and be the best possible version of myself and the best player I can be. If that's to go somewhere else, then it's a decision that I'm going to have to make and I just need to see what happens.' He added: 'Nothing makes me want to leave. I love the club, I love the fans, the team. I support them as well. But as I said, most importantly, it's just about what's best for my career. I just need to make that decision.'
