Kansas City radio host rips ‘disgrace' Patrick Mahomes for offseason dad bod

New York Post10 hours ago
Three Super Bowl rings are not good enough for Patrick Mahomes to avoid criticism.
Kansas City radio and podcast host Kevin Kietzman claimed that Mahomes' dad bod is 'a disgrace' in a rant on Monday after Fourth of July photos of the quarterback went viral as he celebrated with friends on a yacht trip.
'Vacation photos are popping up of Patrick Mahomes, and he's fat,' the host said on his 'Kevin Kietzman Has Issues' podcast.
'I'm gonna say it, and I'm gonna tell you the truth, that's why you hit the play button, he's an embarrassment.'

Mahomes is coming off perhaps the most disappointing performance of his career, throwing two interceptions in a 40-22 blowout loss to the Eagles in Super Bowl LIX in February.
While Mahomes threw for three touchdowns, most of that came with the game well out of reach after the Eagles rolled to a 24-0 halftime lead.
'You're a $500 million quarterback, you've made all these comments in the offseason that 'We're gonna do our talking on the field, we got our butts kicked in the Super Bowl, we're coming back with a vengeance,' said Kietzman, who covers sports and politics on his programs.
'Dude, you're fat. Your belly would be fat at my pool, hanging out with us, 60-year-olds. My skin is flabbier than yours, I get it. Stop. Stop the fast food. Do a sit-up. Do something.'

While the 29-year-old Mahomes does not have a perfect body chiseled from stone, that has not proven to be an impediment on his eventual road to the Hall of Fame.
Mahomes has been one of the most prolific passers in the NFL in his career. On top of three Super Bowl victories, Mahomes has won two MVP awards and has 32,352 passing yards.
It is not the first time Mahomes' physique has gone viral in his career.

The quarterback first reacted to the 'dad bod' chatter in January 2024 when 'Inside the NFL' profiled his shirtless victory speech after Kansas City's AFC Championship win over Baltimore.
'Yoooo why they have to do me like that!?!?!? #DadBodSZN,' Mahomes posted on X.
Mahomes' trainer, Bobby Stroupe, went after Kietzman on social media in since-deleted posts, according to The Sun.
'You obviously need attention,' Stroupe said.
'If you want to see what in shape is — go make it through a practice at Saint Jo or run hurry up offense scrambling back to back to back plays. You don't have a clue what it takes. I's not a look, it's performance.'
Mahomes is currently preparing for his ninth season in the league.

Steelers scout Tim Rooney, architect of 1970s dynasty, dies

This article originally appeared on Tim Rooney, the nephew of Pittsburgh Steelers founder Art Rooney Sr. and one of the architects of the team's 1970s Super Bowl dynasty, died on Tuesday, his family announced via social media. Advertisement Born Vincent Timothy Rooney, Jr., the son of Art Rooney Sr.'s younger brother, Tim Rooney was a member of the Steelers front office from 1972-79, joining a front office scouting department that consisted only of Dick Haley, Art Rooney Jr. and Bill Nunn. Tim Rooney had been a college coach at Villanova, and Chuck Noll envisioned him as an advanced NFL scout that could attend the games of upcoming opponents, and also serve as a pro scout for free agency. 'Noll and Haley talked about the need to start up a pro personnel department,' Rooney said in 2020. 'They wanted to be out in front of free agency – they anticipated it and wanted to be the first team to have scouts ready in advance for it. They anticipated that need.' Part of the reason why the Philadelphia Eagles didn't try to fight harder to keep some of their defensive free agents on board was due to the fact that they had to begin thinking about the future contracts they had to put on the table. Taking care of their younger homegrown talents will be a priority for Howie Roseman and the Eagles' front office. As the General Manager has drafted well since the Eagles reached the Jalen Hurts era, soon it will be time to start paying younger stars some big money. The defensive lineman Jalen Carter will be first in line. One anonymous NFL coach recently summed up the reason for that during an on-record discussion with ESPN. "Young player with elite tools, elite instincts and game-changing play ability," an NFL head coach told ESPN. "Think the best is yet to come from him if he can keep his life in order. Has Hall of Fame-type ability and instincts." Read More: NFL Exec Makes Confident Saquon Barkley Prediction Heading into the NFL, Carter's biggest knock was his off-field concerns. It was something the Eagles had to take a long and hard look at. Without those concerns coming out of Georgia, Carter might've been a higher pick. Instead, he nearly fell outside of the top 10. The Eagles made sure that wouldn't happen. Howie Roseman and the Philly front office called on Carter with the ninth-overall pick. He joined the team as the clock was ticking on Fletcher Cox. Since Cox was still in the building, Carter started just one game for the Eagles in 2023. Despite the lack of snaps, Carter lived up to the hype. He registered six sacks and even took one of his two fumble recoveries back for a score. Read More: Eagles Vet Reveals Truth About Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown Duo In year two, Carter saw his snaps increase, and he became the focal point of the Eagles' defensive front. As expected, he produced a career-high 42 tackles, with 12 going for a loss. While he picked up only 4.5 sacks during the regular season, Carter hit the quarterback 16 times. He was named an All-Pro on the Second Team. Over two years, Carter hasn't dealt with any off-field problems. And he's been a problem for offenses on the field, showcasing his elite talent at the highest level. All the free agent defensive linemen with a hand in the Patrick Mahomes dominance during Super Bowl LIX got paid. It's only a matter of time before Carter gets his.
