Shows of ‘Saiyaara' increased in theatres, screens go from 800 to 2000, as the Ahaan Panday, Aneet Padda movie continues its dream run at the box office after crossing Rs 150 crore
Ahaan Panday
to the movies and starred
Aneet Padda
with him, has gone on to do a phenomenal box office business. While this is not Aneet's first film, it is like her big breakthrough. The film directed by
Mohit Suri
has already crossed Rs 150 crore at the box office in the span of 6 days.
But that's not all. One sees the euphoria around it through viral reels from the theatres. Thus, the number of screens for the movie have been increased.
The film was earlier released in 800 screens but the number of screens as well as the number of shows have increased. According to NDTV, the film is now released in 2000 screens with 11,000+ daily shows. Earlier, it had around 8000 shows across the country. But the overwhelming response led to the increase in demand.
As trade analysts often say, it's always the demand and supply rule which works. Trade expert Taran Adarsh was quoted by the portal saying, 'There are innumerable examples of films starting out on a slow note or with limited screens and gradually expanding after public acceptance.
Like Rajshri's Maine Pyaar Kiya which had a controlled release, or Hum Aapke Hain Koun, which saw a phenomenal expansion. In recent times, 'Saiyaara' is the biggest example of a controlled release.'

Even with less number of shows, 'Saiyaara' has managed to do much better than some big movies which released in 4000-5000 screens like 'Sikandar' and 'Housefull 5'.
With the word of mouth, the movie is still expected to continue its run over the next week as well. On August 1, 'Son Of Sardar 2' and 'Dhadak 2' will be releasing. That's when the number of screens of 'Saiyaara' may be reduced as these two movies will give a competition to it.
