The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has announced the provisional results of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Compartmental & Improvement Examinations 2025 on the afternoon of July 16, 2025. Students who appeared for these exams can download their provisional marksheets from the official NBSE portal — According to the official notification issued on July 11, soft copies of the result will be available online, and candidates can use them to check their performance. Meanwhile, the Board has informed that documents related to the results will be issued to Centre Superintendents only from July 18, 2025. Centre Superintendents are responsible for collecting the documents and distributing them to the schools under their respective centres. Stream-wise result statistics In the Arts stream, 965 candidates appeared, with a total of 444 students passing, resulting in a pass percentage of 46.01%. Male candidates had a pass rate of 42.22%, while female candidates performed better with a pass rate of 51.23%. In Commerce, 146 candidates appeared, with 65 passing and an overall pass percentage of 44.52%. Male students passed at a rate of 42.06%, while female students had a pass percentage of 51.28%. The Science stream saw 645 candidates appear, with 234 passing and an overall pass percentage of 36.28%. The pass percentage for male candidates was 36.65%, and for female candidates, it was 35.99%. Mizoram Board Compartment Exam 2025: The Mizoram Board of School Education (MBSE) has postponed the HSSLC and HSLC compartment and improvement exams 2025 to June 12, following continuous heavy rainfall across the state. Along with the rescheduling of exams, the board has also postponed the Centre Superintendents' meeting to June 10 at 11 am. Due to severe weather conditions, including landslides, mudslides, and rockfalls, schools in Aizawl, the state capital, have remained shut. Educational institutions were closed on May 29, May 30, and June 2, and remain closed today as well. 'Due to incessant rains and natural calamities across the state, it is hereby notified for the information of all concerned that the meeting of the Centre Superintendents and the conduct of HSSLC (Compartmental & Improvement) Examinations, 2025 are rescheduled," the official notice from MBSE stated. Earlier this year, the MBSE Class 12 board exams were conducted from February 14 to March 17, with vocational subject exams held on February 27. The Class 12 results were declared on May 6. The MBSE Class 10 exams were conducted from February 10 to March 13, and the results were announced on April 29. The last date to submit the application form for the HSSLC compartment or improvement exam was May 20. Forms submitted after the deadline were accepted with a late fee of Rs 250. Except for the Saitual district, all district administrations announced the closure of schools as a precautionary measure to protect students from potential hazards caused by the relentless rain. In a notification, Aizawl Deputy Commissioner and District Disaster Management Authority Chairman Lalhriatpuia advised all schools in the Aizawl district to suspend student attendance on June 3 to ensure the safety and well-being of children. On Tuesday morning, the state capital Aizawl recorded heavy rainfall once again. Previously, schools statewide had been closed on May 29, May 30, and June 2 due to similar weather conditions.

1 2 Aizawl: Pass percentage for the Mizoram Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examination in 2025 has risen to 81.1%, surpassing last year's 78.04%, results of which were published by the Mizoram Board of School Education (MBSE) on Tuesday. Girls have outperformed boys across the arts, science, and commerce streams, securing top positions in all of 12,105 students — 5,499 boys and 6,529 girls — who appeared for the examination, 9,817 students — 4,391 boys and 5,426 girls — successfully cleared it. Ninety-one students have a compartmental chance, while 2,197 students were unsuccessful. The overall pass percentage for boys stands at 79.19%, while the success rate for girls is 82.71%.In the arts stream, the pass percentage is 80.13%, with boys achieving 77.65% and girls 82.3%. The science stream recorded an overall pass percentage of 85.63%, with boys scoring 86.25% and girls 85.2%. Commerce stream results show a pass rate of 74.42%, with boys securing 73.65% and girls 75.34%.Girls have claimed the top positions in all three streams. In the arts stream, Lalrammawii Tochhawng of Mount Carmel School in Aizawl secured the highest marks with 471 out of 500. Cynthia Lalhlupuii Shangpliang of St Paul's Higher Secondary School in Aizawl topped the science stream by scoring 477 out of 500, while Kristin Laldinpuii Ralte led in the commerce stream with 470 private schools recorded the highest success rate in the arts stream at 87.54%, followed closely by deficit schools (mainly church-run institutions) at 87.45% and aided schools at 84.33%. Govt schools lagged behind with only a 71.46% success the science stream, deficit schools topped the chart with 93.42%, followed by private schools at 87.38% and lumpsum schools at 83.33%, while govt schools stood at 74.92%. In the commerce stream, lumpsum schools led with 87.5%, followed by deficit schools at 82.67% and private schools at 78.82%. Govt schools recorded a pass rate of just 63.44%.Forty-six schools achieved a 100% success rate in the arts stream, while nine schools in the science stream and two in the commerce stream recorded a perfect pass rate. However, two schools had zero successful candidates in the arts and commerce chairperson J H Zoremthanga said 50-60% of this year's exam questions were based on Lower Order Thinking Skills (LOTS), while 40-50% focused on application and Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). He said there is a proposal to increase the percentage of HOTS-based questions to enhance the education system in Mizoram.
