Lorde is getting intimate in more ways than one on her new album.
The Grammy-winning songstress, 28, is stirring up controversy on social media thanks to the artwork from her latest record "Virgin." The 11-track LP, coproduced and cowritten by Lorde (real name: Ella Yelich-O'Connor), marks the alternative pop singer's return to the music scene after 2021's "Solar Power."
The vinyl edition of the album features an eight-page photo booklet, according to Lorde's official website. The product description includes the advisory warning, "Adult images." One of the images in question reportedly includes a nude shot of Lorde, with the photo showing the crotch of an individual wearing see-through pants.

A representative for Lorde confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that the singer is the individual featured in the photo. USA TODAY has reached out to representatives of Lorde for comment.
The album artwork drew scrutiny online for its racy depiction of the singer, dividing fans who were shocked by Lorde's apparent embrace of nudity and others who were unfazed by the skin-baring photo.
"Me when I saw Lorde's vinyl cover on my timeline," X user @leasweetener wrote alongside a clip of Anne Hathaway's "Idea of You" character Solène Marchand slamming a laptop shut in horror.
"Just saw that Lorde vinyl cover," @sayfoncaffeine wrote, inserting a GIF of "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" character Rowley Jefferson looking confused.
"Should've stayed curious about the Lorde vinyl😭😭," @deluluboy2 wrote alongside a clip of "Real Housewives of Atlanta" alum NeNe Leakes exclaiming, "What?! That is shocking."
Despite the musical controversy, some fans came to Lorde's defense. "The Lorde vinyl was not that bad. Y'all love to overreact," X user @serialexpplain wrote.
"That Lorde vinyl cover ain't even that serious (for real), and y'all are dragging it," @lele_westwood wrote.
"I really thought the Lorde vinyl insert would be a lot worse than people are saying it is," @lqbyrinths wrote. "You guys are kinda dramatic 😭"

In a May interview with Rolling Stone, Lorde reflected on the "vulnerable" and "messy" nature of "Virgin" and the impact the album could have on her public image.
"There's going to be a lot of people who don't think I'm a good girl anymore, a good woman. It's over," Lorde told the outlet. "It will be over for a lot of people, and then for some people, I will have arrived. I'll be where they always hoped I'd be."
This isn't the first time Lorde has featured explicit imagery in her work. The album cover for "Solar Power" showed a bikini-clad Lorde "jumping over a friend on a beach," but the ground-level angle gave an unfiltered view of the singer's buttocks.

During a June 2021 interview on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," the singer said the image was "a little hardcore, but it was so joyful to me."
"It felt innocent and playful and a little bit feral and sexy," Lorde continued. "You've got to do it while you've got it."

Phylicia Rashad lands role in HBO's ‘The Gilded Age'

The post Phylicia Rashad lands role in HBO's 'The Gilded Age' appeared first on ClutchPoints. Legendary actress Phylicia Rashad joins season 3 of HBO's 'The Gilded Age.' Black elitism is the new focus of season 3 of the American historical drama series. Rashad joins Tony Award-nominated actress Audra McDonald and others in the upcoming season. 'We just got more and more interested in the history of the Black bourgeois community at the end of the 19th century,' the show's creator, Julian Fellowes, told Entertainment Weekly. 'People are not really taught it. They're taught one vision of that society, and the Black bourgeois community has been left out of it, largely. The more we learned, the more we wanted to put it into the show.' Actors Denée Benton as Peggy Scott and Audra McDonald as Dorothy Scott were already part of 'The Gilded Age.' Now, Broadway sensation Jordan Donica will play Benton's new love interest, Dr. William Kirkland, along with his parents, Phylicia Rashad and Brian Stokes Mitchell. 'I feel like people love our show because of the beautiful, camp drama. And I do think they come to learn something,' Benton said, per The Wrap. 'Exploring the nuances of the Black communities in that time, Black wealth, and the white supremacy that still found its way into those dynamics is really interesting meat to get into.' Fans are happy to see Rashad return to acting after she stepped down as the dean of the Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts at her alma mater, Howard University, last year. In 1970, Rashad earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Howard. She then began her acting career, and her most well-known part was that of Clair Huxtable on the renowned comedy The Cosby Show. In May 2021, she began working at Howard as the dean of the College of Fine Arts. Rashad led important developments at the Howard University Fine Arts Department while serving as its dean. The Chadwick A. Boseman Memorial Scholarship, which provides new theater students with a four-year scholarship paying the entire cost of university tuition, was established thanks in large part to her negotiating a $5.4 million grant from Netflix. She was also in charge of hiring several of the department's esteemed faculty members. Viewers can watch 'The Gilded Age' every Sunday at 9 P.M. ET on HBO. McDonald's Snack Wrap is back, and we tried it: Here's our review

An oldie but a goodie is officially back on the McDonald's menu. After months of teasing from McDonald's about the possible return of the Snack Wrap, the highly anticipated (and beloved) menu item was made available for purchase on July 10, after nearly a decade away. Snack Wraps, which come in either the "Spicy" or "Ranch" flavor, costs $2.99 a la carte but can be made into a combo meal consisting of two Snack Wraps, a medium fry and a drink of choice. And we, just like the rest of the U.S., were eager to try it. So, we did. A handful of USA TODAY reporters and video producers who tried the McDonald's Snack Wrap either again or for the first time, offered their thoughts and genuine reactions to the entrée on camera. Here's our review, including review and reactions from others who were equally as ecstatic about the Snack Wrap's return. McDonald's Snack Wraps are back. Are they healthy? Our review: McDonald's Snack Wrap is just OK The group who taste-tested McDonald's Snack Wrap have spoken, and the truth of the matter is that many people thought the entrée is just OK. But it did receive a stamp of approval from video producers Ariana Triggs and Christina Cardona. Julie Gomez, a trending reporter, was not as easily impressed, saying that she was disappointed by the lack of sauce, since the majority of the sauce that came in her Snack Wrap was located on the bottom, instead of being evenly spread throughout. "There's no difference to me," Gomez says. "That doesn't have any sauce. It's just chicken." Senior reporter Mike Snider, who ordered a 'Spicy' Snack Wrap, said it was 'pretty spicy' and better than he thought it would be. USA TODAY reviews McDonald's, Popeyes and Taco Bell snack wraps USA TODAY senior reporter Mike Snider taste tested each chicken snack wraps from McDonald's, Popeyes and Taco Bell. "(It's) Definitely an easy thing to grab as a quick bite to eat if you're on the go or something like that," Khan said. Internet reacts to the return of the McDonald's Snack Wrap July 10 will forevermore be known as the day the Snack Wrap returned to McDonald's. (At least that's what everybody's been saying.) Most everyone who is talking about Snack Wraps on social media is itching to try it or are posting pictures once they've gotten it. A small minority were a little miffed that Honey Mustard was not among the Snack Wrap flavors released. The netizens have spoken and here's what they're saying about McDonald's "new" Snack Wrap:
