Echo reporter stages popular pre-Wembley livestream ahead of Blues' final

SOUTHEND Echo reporter Chris Phillips staged a successful pre-Wembley live-stream at the Railway Pub tonight.
Chris - who has covered the Shrimpers for the Echo since 2003 - was joined by a number of key names from the club and community ahead of Sunday's play-off final with Oldham Athletic.

And he was keen to thank those who helped him raise funds for the Mind of the Student charity.
Chris said: "These things are always hard to put together and run but it was great to have so many great guests.
"It was nice to speak to those who played such a key part during the club's struggles and to really sit back and reflect on how far we've come before we kept caught up in the madness of Wembley.
"A big thanks also goes to Data Migrator for sponsoring the livestream and the Railway for hosting.
"We had more than 6,000 people tuned in for most of it and we raised a good amount of money for a cause so close to my heart too."

Among those to join Chris for interviews were Darryl Flahavan, Justin Rees, Steve Tilson, Tom Lawrence, Daniel Cowan, Barry Corr, Duncan Jupp and Jason Demetriou.
Chris also spoke with Mitchell Drew - the young fan he memorably photographed cleaning the never give up sign at Roots Hall - plus several supporters who have flown in from all around the world to be at Wembley.
National League expert Sam Collyer also gave his views on Sunday's game.
Chris added: "The stream can still be watched via my Twitter channel and on Facebook for anyone who might be interested.

I anticipate he will be getting a chance to show what he has at the next level during summer league, and we should hopefully hear of a signing in the next week. Child reportedly fell overboard on Disney cruise. Her dad jumped in after her.
A horrifying moment aboard a Disney Cruise Line ship turned into an unbelievable rescue at sea after a child fell overboard and her father leapt in after her. The June 29 incident occurred as the Disney Dream was returning to Fort Lauderdale from a four-night Bahamian sailing, including a stop at Disney's Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. As first reported by The Street, the emergency code 'Mr. M.O.B.' (man overboard) rang out over the ship's intercom, signaling an urgent response. "The Crew aboard the Disney Dream swiftly rescued two guests from the water," a Disney Cruise Line spokesperson told USA TODAY in a statement. "We commend our Crew Members for their exceptional skills and prompt actions, which ensured the safe return of both guests to the ship within minutes. We are committed to the safety and well-being of our guests, and this incident highlights the effectiveness of our safety protocols." Social media posts from cruisers described the rapid reaction from crew members, who launched life preservers and deployed a rescue boat within minutes. In a Facebook post, passenger Kevin Furuta said, 'A girl fell overboard from the 4th deck & her dad went in after her ... Thankfully the DCL rescue team was on it immediately and both were saved!' 'Why is our ship leaving?': Mom and daughter stranded as Norwegian Epic breaks from port Despite assumptions that the ship may have been docked, passengers confirmed the rescue took place while the Disney Dream was cruising between The Bahamas and Florida, with the child reportedly falling from Deck 4, which features a walking track. It remains unclear how the child fell overboard, despite the ship's plexiglass safety barriers. According to Giants RB Tyrone Tracy Jr., Heyward's massive hit in Week 8 last season was an eye-opener as to how 'different' the NFL really is: "It was Cam Heyward," Tracy said on NFL Network's Good Morning Football. "He's in the middle, obviously — he's a big dude, you can't miss him. I'm doing my inside zone and I'm thinking the gap is there. If you're a running back, you understand that like the hole is there, until it's not. And Cam Heyward, he's two-gapping, so he's making it look like it's there, and I try to hit in there.
