The move aims to achieve sustainable economic growth and spotlight Egypt's role as a key player in the global entrepreneurship community in order to enhance entrepreneurs' confidence and attract more investors and investments into the Egyptian market, he added.
The premier's remarks came while chairing a meeting of the Ministerial Group for Entrepreneurship on Monday.
The meeting was attended by Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance, Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Hassan El-Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade along with a number of senior state officials.
During the meeting, Mashat, presented a report highlighting positive indicators in many startups in Egypt.
She noted significant progress in the first five months of this year, with startups attracting approximately $228 million in funding through 16 deals—11 of which totaled $156 million. This marks a 130% increase, compared to the same period in 2024.
The minister also outlined the key points of Egypt's forthcoming Startup Charter, which will be launched soon.
The Charter aims to build trust between startups and the government by clearly committing to the system's priorities as well as coordinating efforts by different government bodies to create a more efficient, transparent, and innovation-friendly environment in a move meant to serve entrepreneurship, she added. Both ministers discussed developments in the region, particularly the Palestinian cause and the catastrophic situation in the Gaza Strip and addressed ongoing efforts to resume a ceasefire in Gaza. Abdelatty highlighted Egypt's intensive communications with all parties to reach a ceasefire and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. They also discussed the upcoming conference on the early recovery and reconstruction of Gaza, which Egypt plans to host in cooperation with the United Nations and the Palestinian government once a ceasefire is achieved. The ministers reviewed intensive communications underway to solidify the ceasefire between Iran and Israel and resume negotiations on Iran's nuclear program in a manner that contributes to de-escalation and the achievement of calm. They also exchanged views on developments in Sudan and the Levant (Arab Mashreq) region. The ministers agreed to continue consultations and coordination to serve mutual interests and support security and stability in the region, in line with the directives of their countries' leaderships. Egypt steps up diplomatic push to cement Iran-Israel ceasefire - Foreign Affairs
Egypt's foreign minister held a series of high-level diplomatic calls on Friday and Saturday to cement a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, following directives from President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to intensify regional and international engagement for de-escalation and stability in the Middle East. OPEN//President Sisi approves deal on preparing roadmap for reducing methane emissions in Egypt
CAIRO, July 5 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has issued Decree No. 31 of 2025 approving an agreement on preparing a roadmap for reducing methane emissions in Egypt. A 959,006-dollar grant will be provided under the agreement between the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation and the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA).
