Woman on mobility scooter dies after crash with car
The collision occurred in Flore Hill, Flore, at about 17:05 BST on Saturday, Northamptonshire Police said.
It involved a grey Range Rover Evoque, which was travelling north east, and the mobility scooter, which was travelling in the opposite direction.
An investigation into the accident has been launched after the woman in her 60s died at the scene.
Officers from the force's serious collision investigation unit have appealed for anyone who saw the incident, or has dash-cam footage, to contact them.

‘We want an answer': They fear their relatives are among the hundreds of bodies piled up at a crematorium in Mexico
Families are demanding answers after authorities in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, discovered that 383 bodies had been stored in a crematorium for months and years after the people had died. Norma Guardado Meraz was one of many locals who visited the Chihuahua Prosecutor's Office this week to get more information about its investigation into the discovery, fearing that among the bodies are those of their relatives. The discovery was made on June 26 after several municipal police officers found a hearse containing two bodies and other corpses piled up in a room in the building's courtyard. Prosecutor César Jáuregui said the pile of bodies had accumulated since 2020, suggesting that the Plenitud crematorium had failed to perform services it had been subcontracted for by six funeral homes. 'We want an answer so we can be satisfied and for the authorities to help us see what's going on, so we can be sure we have the right person in our urn,' Guardado Meraz told CNN. She and her family want clarity about the fate of the remains of her mother, María Nieves Meraz, who died three years ago and was mourned at one of the funeral homes that had subcontracted the crematorium. Another resident, Javier Ramírez, went to the prosecutor's office Wednesday to determine if the remains he had received actually belong to his father, who died two months ago and whose wake was held at one of the other funeral homes. CNN is trying to contact the managers of the funeral homes for comment. 'They just tell us they'll let us know when they have information, but they don't know how long it will take. In other words, we just have to wait and see what they tell us,' Ramírez told CNN. CNN has asked the prosecutor's office how many complaints it has received in this case and is awaiting a response. The office said Tuesday that of the 383 bodies found, 218 were men, 149 were women and the gender of 16 could not been identified. Authorities have detained the owner of the company that operated the crematorium and his assistant in connection with the discovery. They were scheduled to appear in court on Friday. CNN is trying to contact their legal defense team to find out how they will respond to the charges against them. As the case moves forward, the prosecutor's office is promising a thorough investigation and says it encourages more people to come forward and demand answers. A 46-year-old Oshawa woman is facing multiple charges, and police are searching for a male suspect following a human trafficking investigation. On May 1, Durham Regional Police say a probe was launched following allegations involving a young woman allegedly coerced into the sex trade and investigators determined the victim initially met the suspects in Oshawa in February. It's alleged that, over the course of several weeks, the female suspect exploited the victim and coerced her to engage in sexual acts with men in exchange for money. A male suspect was also identified in connection with this incident and investigators issued arrest warrants for both suspects. On Thursday, officers went to an Oshawa address near Bond St. E and Ritson Rd. N. for a disturbance call. Tina Baker was arrested and charged with multiple offences, including trafficking in persons, forcible confinement, material benefits from sexual services, procuring/exercising control, extortion, assault and robbery. Man jailed over 'extreme' assault on woman
A man who stormed into a woman's home and dragged her from her bed before launching an "extreme and prolonged assault" has been jailed. The attack on 14 December last year left Samuel Kelham's victim with a complex facial fracture that required surgery, said Nottinghamshire Police. The 37-year-old, of Cherry Tree Close in Brinsley, pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent, criminal damage and possession of cocaine during a hearing at Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison, with an additional five years on extended licence, and given an indefinite restraining order. Warning - this article contains distressing content. On the day of the attack, Kelham stamped on and kicked his victim's head several times after punching her and pulling her on to the landing by her hair. The woman managed to run outside to get help, but Kelham chased her, police said, and threw her to the ground before kicking her in the head twice. Officers arrived minutes later, by which time Kelham had already posted about what he had done on social media and fled in a car. After ramming a police car to make his escape, Kelham's vehicle was spotted by officers in Derbyshire later that day and he was arrested. Det Sgt Parminder Ahluwalia said Kelham "deserves" his prison sentence. "His decision to subject his victim to the extreme and prolonged assault he did that morning was cowardly and disgraceful," she said. "In contrast to Kelham's cowardly behaviour, the victim deserves immense credit for the strength and bravery she's shown in helping us lock him up."
