Emphasising that India's heritage and the influence of
Shaiva philosophy
are no longer confined to its geographic borders, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday recalled that when India became the first country to land near the Moon's South Pole, the designated lunar site was named "Shiv-Shakti" and is now recognised globally.
Speaking at the valedictory function of the 'Aadi Thiruvathirai' festival at the Gangaikonda Cholapuram Temple, held to mark the birth anniversary of King
Rajendra Chola I
, the Prime Minister said, "India's Shaivite tradition has played a vital role in shaping the nation's cultural identity. The Chola emperors were key architects in this cultural development, and Tamil Nadu continues to be an important centre of vibrant Shaivite heritage."

Recalling his recent meeting with the Dikshitars of the Chidambaram Nataraja Temple, the Prime Minister said they had presented him with a sacred offering from the temple, where Lord Shiva is worshipped in his Nataraja form.
He said the Nataraja symbol reflects both India's philosophy and scientific foundations. The Prime Minister added that a similar Ananda Tandava idol of Lord Nataraja adorns Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, where global leaders had gathered during the G-20 summit in 2023.

PM Modi
said the world is facing instability, violence, and environmental crises, and that the Shaivite philosophy could offer meaningful solutions. Referring to the teachings of Tirumular, he said, "Anbe Sivam," meaning "Love is Shiva," could help resolve many global problems if widely accepted. He added that India is advancing this philosophy through the motto 'One World, One Family, One Future.'
He said modern India takes pride in its heritage. "Today, India is guided by the mantra of 'Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi,' and modern India takes pride in its history," the Prime Minister said.
He also said that efforts have been made to recover India's cultural artefacts. "Since 2014, more than 600 ancient artefacts have been repatriated from various countries around the world," he said, adding that 36 of these items belonged to Tamil Nadu. "Many valuable heritage items, including Nataraja, Lingodbhavar, Dakshinamurthy, Ardhanarishwara, Nandikeswara, Uma Parameshwari, Parvati, and Sambandar, are once again adorning the land," he noted.
During the event, PM Modi also released a commemorative coin in honour of Rajendra Chola I.
This year's celebration also marks 1,000 years since Rajendra Chola I's maritime expedition to Southeast Asia and the beginning of construction of the Gangaikonda Cholapuram temple, a major example of Chola architecture.
Rajendra Chola I (1014-1044 CE) was among India's most powerful rulers. His empire expanded across South and Southeast Asia. He built the Gangaikonda Cholapuram temple after his military campaigns and made the town his capital. The temple served as a centre of
Shaiva
worship and administration for over 250 years and is now a
UNESCO World Heritage Site
, known for its sculptures, bronzes, and inscriptions.
The
Aadi Thiruvathirai festival
also celebrates the Tamil Shaiva Bhakti movement, supported by the Cholas and immortalised by the 63 Nayanmars--the saint-poets of Tamil Shaivism. Rajendra Chola's birth star, Thiruvathirai (Ardra), began on 23rd July this year, making the festival even more special.

Samsung may drop S Pen support from future devices: Report

Samsung recently unveiled its latest range of foldable smartphones – Galaxy Z Fold 7 , Galaxy Z Flip 7 and all-new Galaxy Z Flip7 FE. One of the key changes that the new Fold 7 phone comes with is the missing S Pen stylus. Once a key selling point for Samsung's flagship devices—particularly the Galaxy Note series—the S Pen appears to be getting less priority in recent launches, including the latest foldables and tablets. Is Samsung gradually phasing out its long-running S Pen stylus across its smartphone and tablet lineup? A report by 9to5Google says 'things aren't quite as positive as they seem. Over the past seven months, Samsung has pretty clearly deprioritized the S Pen in its lineup, removing features deemed unpopular before'. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 launched without S Pen support As mentioned before, one of the most notable changes that comes with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung's latest foldable smartphone, is the absence of the S Pen. For the first time, the device lacks the internal hardware needed for S Pen input. According to the report, Samsung removed the digitizer from both sides of the Fold 7's display to achieve a slimmer design. This move saved about 0.6mm in thickness but at the cost of full stylus support. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Paras Sector 59 Gurgaon | Luxury Awaits at Paras Floret Paras The Florett Book Now Undo 'Right now, that appears to be a focus on thinner, lighter devices that simply don't mesh with the size constraints needed for a stylus,' the report states. While earlier Fold models like the Z Fold 3 and Z Fold 4 supported the S Pen, even if only with an external accessory, the Z Fold 7 offers no such compatibility. However, the report suggests that Samsung has not ruled out bringing back stylus support in future foldables, but that would require both a technical redesign and significant user demand. Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra's S Pen loses key features In another shift, the Galaxy S25 Ultra still includes a built-in S Pen, but it no longer supports Bluetooth features. This means users can no longer access remote-control functions like Air Command or camera shutter control. Samsung has said less than 1% of users used those functions, which led to the removal. Although some rumors hinted at a separate, Bluetooth-enabled S Pen being sold as an optional accessory, the final device shipped with a more basic version. The report notes that while the S Pen is lighter without a battery, its functionality is now limited. Samsung's tablet lineup may also follow suit Leaked images of the upcoming Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra suggest further changes in Samsung's stylus strategy. The renders reportedly show no back-mounted magnetic charging area for the S Pen, which could indicate the removal of Bluetooth support from the tablet stylus as well. It remains unclear whether the S Pen will attach magnetically elsewhere on the device or if it will be sold separately. Samsung Galaxy Watch8: AI on Your Wrist AI Masterclass for Students. Gurugram startup intern reveals he left home, spent Rs 30,000 for dream job, only to be fired in 23 days; Internet furious

Imagine packing your bags, leaving home, spending Rs 30,000 from your savings, and heading to Gurugram for a dream internship, only to be shown the door in just 23 days. That's exactly what happened to a young intern who recently shared their story on Reddit, and now, it's gone viral. The Reddit user, posting under the name @Regrets_only_, revealed they had moved to Gurugram to work at a startup after being promised mentorship and a full-time job within three months. The expected salary? At least Rs 40,000 per month. The intern was suddenly told their role was no longer needed because a client had backed out. No notice. No warning. Just gone. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Malaysia: New Container Houses (Prices May Surprise You) Container House | Search ads Search Now Undo "I was shocked... I regret believing the founder," the intern wrote, calling the entire experience a disaster. Now jobless and stuck in one of India's most competitive job markets, they're trying to figure out their next step, and they're not alone. The story hit a nerve with many online. Several people on Reddit shared similar experiences of being let down by startups. Live Events One person commented, "Same happened to me. Keep applying on LinkedIn, even if most jobs are fake, you'll get a few calls if you're consistent." Another advised, 'Don't lose hope. At that time, it was the best decision you could've made. Maybe ask the founder if he knows someone who's hiring.' This story has reignited an old debate, are Indian startups taking young interns for granted? Many of them work long hours, often unpaid or underpaid, only to be replaced without reason. The shiny promise of 'experience' sometimes hides a darker truth.

Mother donates skin to save burned infant after Air India plane crash

Eight-month-old Dhyaansh now smiles brightly, his cheeks glowing with health after surviving life-threatening burn injuries. The infant, who suffered 36% burns, has made a remarkable recovery following skin grafts donated by his mother, Manisha, 30. Both mother and child, wife and son of Dr Kapil Kachhadiya , a urology resident at Civil Hospital, were discharged recently after five weeks of treatment for severe burns sustained in the aftermath of the AI 171 plane crash on June 12, The Times of India reported. According to ToI, the mother-son duo was in the BJ Medical College hostel and residential quarters in Meghaninagar when the crash caused a fire. "Everything went black for a moment and then heat engulfed our home," recalled Manisha. "I grabbed Dhyaansh and ran through thick smoke and flames. There was a moment I thought we would not make it out. But I had to, for my child. We have both been through pain I cannot put into words." From a medical standpoint, every department came together to ensure the best possible outcome." He added that the hospital provided free treatment to six patients injured in the AI 171 crash. Plastic surgeon Dr Rutvij Parikh explained that both the infant's own skin and his mother's skin grafts were used for treatment. "His age was a major factor. We had to prevent infections and ensure normal growth. His and his mother's recovery has been satisfactory," he said. Live Events "Dr Kapil's involvement as a father also helped immensely," Dr Parikh noted. "As a medical professional himself, he ensured the dressings were done properly, even late at night." According to ToI, the multidisciplinary team treating Dhyaansh included neonatologist Dr Snehal Patel, pulmonologist Dr Tushar Patel and intensivist Dr Mansi Dandnaik. Dr Snehal Patel highlighted a serious complication: "Blood had rushed into one side of the child's lungs. He was on ventilatory support, and an intercostal drainage tube was inserted until good lung expansion was achieved." With inputs from ToI
