Heavy rain cripples Vijayawada, turns roads into pools across city
The downpour began around 7 pm and intensified rapidly, continuing for nearly 90 minutes before tapering off to a drizzle.
Stretches near Pinnamaneni Polyclinic Road, Tikkle Road, NTR Circle, Nirmala Convent Road, Benz Circle, RTC Bus Station, and Low Bridge Area near KR Market were submerged under ankle-deep water. Several sub-arterial roads including Surya Rao Pet and Eluru Road also experienced similar flooding.
Overflowing drains and accumulated rainwater severely impacted traffic flow at Benz Circle, PCR Junction, and One Town.
Meanwhile, continued inflows from local catchments have raised the water level at the Prakasam Barrage. Authorities will lift the barrage gates at 6 am on Monday to release 3,000 cusecs of water downstream.

Update for Inverclyde train users as engineers work overnight to clear storm damage
RAIL bosses have issued an update to train passengers in Inverclyde after engineers worked overnight to tackle damage caused by fallen trees. All services on the Gourock and Wemyss Bay lines were cancelled from around 3pm onwards on Monday after the high winds of Storm Floris blew a tree on to the overhead electric wires on a stretch of the railway between Paisley and Bishopton. Network Rail says its engineers have been working overnight to fix the damage and that the line has now reopened. Public transport bore the brunt of the Storm Floris disruption in [[Inverclyde]] on Monday, while a fallen tree blocked Inverkip Road in Greenock, with other trees torn out of the ground at Darroch Park in [[Gourock]] and Mallaig Road in Port Glasgow - look back at our Storm Floris round-up from Monday here. CalMac's ferry services between [[Gourock]] and Dunoon, [[Gourock]] and Kilcreggan, and [[Wemyss Bay]] and Rothesay were all disrupted on Monday. CalMac says that its Gourock-Dunoon route - already reduced to an hourly frequency because of a long-running technical problem that is keeping one of the route's two vessels out of service - remains liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice on Tuesday. Western Ferries' service between McInroy's Point and Hunters Quay remained in operation throughout Monday.

Eutelsat reports better-than-expected full year earnings
By Gianluca Lo Nostro (Reuters) -French satellite operator Eutelsat reported better-than-expected annual earnings on Tuesday, driven by growing interest in its satellite internet services from government and corporate customers. Eutelsat gained the spotlight this year as European governments sought home-grown solutions for satellite services, aiming to reduce their reliance on U.S. providers. Revenues from video, connectivity and government services reached 1.24 billion euros ($1.43 billion) in the year ended June 30, up 0.8% from a year earlier. Financial analysts had expected those revenues to total 1.21 billion euros, according to a consensus poll provided by Eutelsat. The Paris-based group hopes to offset declining income from its video business by gaining a foothold in the satellite internet market, where SpaceX's Starlink dominates. Eutelsat said revenues from its low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites rose 84.1% yearly to 187 million euros. Higher revenues for government services reflected services delivered in Ukraine and increased demand from other non-U.S. governments, the company said. Eutelsat expects LEO revenues to grow by 50% next year, saying it will compensate, but not yet outweigh the decline in its legacy business, which are impacted by additional Russian sanctions. Argentines hooked on watching livestream of Mar del Plata Canyon deep sea exploration
Transparent-faced fish drift through dusky waters. Snowlike flecks of dead plants sift down from the world above. Soft sponges peek through the soot of the seafloor. Only occasional mutters among marine biologists break the thick silence. And somehow, this livestream of sea life in the South Atlantic feels like it has everyone in Argentina watching — or talking and making memes about it. (AP Video: Cristian Kovadloff and Victor R.
