N. Sembilan KPDN disposes of items seized under Op Tiris
Its director, Muhammad Zahir Mazlan, said the disposal of items that were confiscated last year, related to three investigation papers under the Control of Supplies Act 1961.
The items included 45 translucent Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCS), five hose pump machines, a Skid Tank with a 15,000-litre capacity and two mobile phones.
'The Negeri Sembilan KPDN also disposed of seized diesel worth RM15,527. All investigation papers were resolved through compound actions against the individuals involved, amounting to a total of RM13,000,' he said in a statement today.
He urged those with any information regarding the misappropriation of controlled and subsidised goods to contact the KPDN through its official channels, including WhatsApp at 019-848 8000 and the KPDN's Ez ADU mobile application.

335 cases submitted to KPDN by enforcement agencies as of May
PUTRAJAYA: A total of 335 cases have been handed over to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) by enforcement agencies between January 1 and May 31, 2025. Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali revealed this during a press conference following the Strategic Partner Appreciation Ceremony held in conjunction with KPDN Enforcement Day. Armizan stated that these cases form part of a larger total of 2,811 cases recorded since 2021, a result of strategic collaboration between KPDN and multiple enforcement agencies. 'All these case submissions involve various legal frameworks, including smuggling and abuse of subsidised controlled goods,' he said. The cases were forwarded to KPDN after arrests were made by the respective agencies for further action. Armizan also highlighted the execution of integrated operations with these enforcement partners to enhance effectiveness. Among the agencies contributing the highest number of cases were the General Operations Force with 1,146 cases, followed by the Marine Police Force (866 cases), the Royal Malaysia Police (661 cases), and the Malaysian Armed Forces (69 cases). Armizan noted that the steady rise in case submissions demonstrates the success of joint efforts between KPDN and enforcement agencies, leading to more structured and targeted operations. 'We hope this cooperation continues to strengthen KPDN's role in tackling subsidy abuse and cross-border smuggling,' he added.

Five family members granted bail in teen kidnapping case
SEREMBAN: The High Court here today allowed the bail application of five family members charged with kidnapping a 16-year-old girl in April. Their lawyer, T. Harpal Singh, informed Sessions Court judge Datin Surita Budin of the High Court's decision, which was made after a review of the initial bail rejection. On May 14, the Sessions Court had denied bail to the five accused: D. Sasveena, 31; T. Boharaj, 32; Farhin Muhamad Ariffin, 23; and siblings P.K. Koshenn Kumar, 21, and P.K. Siveeshinaa, 23. Harpal said the High Court allowed bail of RM15,000 for each of the accused, with two sureties from among family members. The court also imposed five additional conditions: the accused must surrender their passports to the court and must not contact the victim or any prosecution witnesses. Deputy public prosecutor Norazihah Asmuni told the court that all documents had been handed over to the defence, except for the closed-circuit television forensic report, the accused's mobile phone analysis, and the victim's medical report. According to the charge, the five allegedly acted in concert to abduct the teenage girl with the intent of demanding a RM2 million ransom. The offence was allegedly committed at 5.45pm on April 10 in front of a hair salon on Jalan S2 B10, Uptown Avenue Seremban 2. They were charged under Section 3(1) of the Kidnapping Act 1961, read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code, which carries a mandatory jail term of not fewer than 30 years and whipping upon conviction. Five family members granted bail in teenage kidnapping case, lawyer tells court
SEREMBAN: The High Court has granted bail to five family members charged with kidnapping a 16-year-old girl. Defence lawyer T. Harpal Singh informed Sessions Court judge Surita Budin of the decision when the case was mentioned. Harpal said the High Court allowed each accused to be released on RM15,000 bail with two sureties, both of whom must be family members. He added that the accused were also ordered to surrender their passports (if any), stay away from the victim and prosecution witnesses, obtain a court order before leaving the district, and report to the nearest police station once a month until the case is concluded. On May 14, the Sessions Court had initially denied them bail. D. Sasveena, 31, T. Boharaj, 32, Farhin Muhamad Ariffin, 23, and siblings P. K. Koshenn Kumar, 21, and P. K.
