Opening up about her initial hesitation, Ekta admitted, 'You can never compete with nostalgia. It always remains supreme.' She reflected on how Kyunki was more than a television show; it was a phenomenon that brought families together and bravely tackled subjects like domestic abuse, ageism, and women's independence—long before these topics became trending conversations.
As discussions with her creative team unfolded, Ekta felt a deep sense of purpose. 'Can we keep Kyunki away from today's storytelling formats and focus once again on the issues that television once bravely addressed and dealt with?' she asked.
