Syria welcomes Trump's lifting of sanctions as ‘turning point' toward recovery

Roya News15 hours ago

Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani welcomed US President Donald Trump's decision to lift sanctions on Syria, calling the move 'a significant turning point' in the country's path toward economic and political recovery.
In an official statement, Shaibani said that the removal of the majority of sanctions imposed on the Syrian Arab Republic, as outlined in President Trump's historic executive order, would 'help propel Syria into a new phase of prosperity, stability, and openness to the international community.'
He stressed that lifting this major barrier to economic recovery would open the door to long-awaited reconstruction and development efforts, as well as the rehabilitation of vital infrastructure, creating the necessary conditions for the safe and dignified return of displaced Syrians to their homeland.
The minister added that the decision presents a genuine opportunity to strengthen engagement with various international actors and to reintegrate Syria into the global economic system after years of isolation and restrictions.

'Trump Fragrances' are here, get yourself a bottle for $250

ALBAWABA - US President Donald Trump is once again trending on social media after taking to Truth Social to promote his newly launched fragrance product line, "Victory 45-47." Fans interested in the new products will have to shell out a whopping $250 for a single 100 ML bottle, with the exception of buying two to save $100. The US President doesn't discriminate, so he launched a perfume for women and a cologne for men. The limited edition fragrances take inspiration from Trump's win against Kamala Harris during the most recent US Elections. It features a Trump-themed statue on top, which is described on the official website as "bold, beautiful, and iconic—perfect for the Trump fan and collector." The US President announced the launch on Truth Social and wrote, "Trump Fragrances are here. They're called 'Victory 45-47' because they're all about Winning, Strength, and Success — for men and women." He added, "Get yourself a bottle, and don't forget to get one for your loved ones too. Enjoy, have fun, and keep winning!" Following a link to the online shop. The new fragrances sparked widespread debate on social media, with several users calling out the US President for the "unreasonable" $250 price tag. Others criticized him for using his Presidency to promote and sell products. A social media user wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter), "MAGA must be rich, they can afford $249 for a 3.3 oz bottle." They added, "The Trumps want some of that money." Another wrote, "$250 a pop… for the working man."

Gold rises on weaker dollar, tariff uncertainty before deadline

Ammon News - Gold prices rose on Tuesday, supported by a weaker dollar and heightened uncertainty over U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff policies ahead of the July 9 deadline, driving investors toward safe-haven assets. Spot gold was up 0.6% at $3,322.55 per ounce, as of 0430 GMT, while U.S. gold futures rose 0.8% to $3,334.80. "Weaker dollar and concerns about the impact if Trump's tariff deadline is not extended are supporting gold at the moment," said Nicholas Frappell, global head of institutional markets at ABC Refinery. The U.S. dollar index fell 0.2% to a more than three-year low, making bullion more affordable for holders of other currencies. Spot silver rose 0.2% to $36.16 per ounce, platinum was steady at $1,352.49, while palladium gained 1.4% to $1,113.18. Reuters

U.S. Pressures Mount for Gaza Deal, but Key Dispute Remains - Jordan News

U.S. Pressures Mount for Gaza Deal, but Key Dispute Remains Following President Donald Trump's renewed call to secure a Gaza deal and ensure the return of all remaining hostages, The Times of Israel reported—citing a U.S. official and an Arab diplomat—that Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer is expected to face heavy pressure from the Trump administration during his meetings in Washington this week to finalize a ceasefire agreement that would end the war in Gaza. اضافة اعلان While mediators are urging Israel to send a delegation to Cairo to close the remaining gaps in the negotiations, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has so far refused, preferring to dispatch Dermer to the U.S. capital first in an effort to align with Washington before committing to another round of indirect talks in Egypt. Ceasefire vs. Permanent End to War The core sticking point, according to the sources, is Hamas's demand for a permanent end to the war, while Israel insists on only a temporary ceasefire, preserving the option to resume military operations later. Hamas—supported by Arab mediators—is also pushing to return to previous humanitarian aid distribution mechanisms or replace the current system, which is managed by the Israel- and U.S.-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. Israel accuses Hamas of diverting humanitarian aid for military purposes, a claim the movement consistently denies.
