AKT lovers, listen up: The UK's most awarded deodorant (our favourite deodorant EVER) has officially just released in a new, limited-edition scent – and this one is gorgeous .
If you've ever wished your deodorant worked harder for you (think: no sweat, no bad smells, no crusty clothes), then AKT and its natural deodorant in an array of swoon-worthy scents is the brand you're going to want to know.
Designed to keep you sweat and smell free all day – whether you're burning up in a London heatwave or hitting the gym, AKT Deodorant Balm is the one deodorant you can really rely on – tried and tested (and loved) by not just us, but thousands of equally obsessed shoppers, too.
If you want the full spiel on why AKT truly is the G.O.A.T. when it comes to deodorant then check out our full article here, but today is all about celebrating the brand new, limited-edition scent: Hay Fever.
Crisp, fresh and perfect for summer, Hay Fever opens with Crisp apple, marmalade, boasts heart notes of a splendid English garden, Earl Greyand plump apricots, and finishes with cashmere, soft leather, and generational wealth. What bliss! shop £21w3
Inspired by the dazzling Noël Coward play of the same name, the new Hay Fever deodorant is a seductive summer scent that'll have people thinking you've just spritzed on some expensive perfume.
Hay Fever transports you to an English country garden in the roaring 1920s. Think: high tea, high drama, and lots of marmalade.
This triple threat formula combines an opening number of crisp apple and marmalade, followed by an encore of earl grey and apricots, leading to a grand finale of cashmere and soft leather.
An iconic homage to Noël Coward's infamous comedy of manners, this fragrance is your backstage pass to a particularly English kind of summer – filled with roses, marmalade, mischief and the occasional dramatic exit.
And truly, this deodorant smells amazing , truly like a sophisticated and refined perfume rather than the medicinal and powdery 'deodorant' smell of times gone by.
Enjoy instead the smell of plump fruits, Earl Grey tea and cashmere with just a sprinkling of generational wealth. Did someone say bliss?
'Our new deodorant fragrance was designed to capture the spirit of a quintessential British summer — languid, sun-dappled, and ever so slightly unhinged,' say AKT founders Ed Currie and Andy Coxon.
'And what better muse than Noël Coward's Hay Fever? …and, in Ed's case, beastly seasonal allergies!'
Tested and perfected on the stage by the people who perform there, AKT Deodorant Balm is infused with AKT's exclusive DEO-BARRIER COMPLEX™, the super-special secret to the brand's unwavering success.
This Deo-Barrier Complex has been designed to transform from a skin-nourishing balm into a dry, invisible powder that actively cleanses, deodorises and absorbs perspiration for persistent protection, keeping you sweat-free, even in the summer sun, all day long.
This natural deodorant really does look after your armpits, too – made without pore-blocking aluminium unlike many standard deodorants, instead utilising natural ingredients that work to moisturise the skin while eliminating odours and keeping you dry all day.
Yup, zero aluminium, zero phthalates, zero compromises.
And you can really feel the goodness. The balm glides on easily (they recommend applying a pea-sized amount to clean underarms each day), hydrating and nourishing the skin without greasiness or wetness, meaning you don't have to wait to throw on your outfit.
And it doesn't get all over your clothes, either, meaning no crusty, yellow armpits in this joint. Game-changer.
But, especially with the new Hay Fever scent, the magic really lies in the stunning fragrances. More Trending
The brand collaborated with leading experts in fragrance to curate each deodorant balm like a fine fragrance, each named like 'scenes' as a homage to their theatre roots. These include SC.01 Orange Grove, SC.02 After Thunder and SC.03 The Onsen. But I have to say, Hay Fever is our absolute favourite.
As AKT put so beautifully in its own words: 'Hay Fever is not just a fragrance, it's a standing ovation to British eccentricity, queer legacy, and the sheer joy of a good scandal in the garden!'
What bliss!
Shop this limited-run deodorant fragrance while you can – this is truly one for the ages.

Sugababes ‘honoured' to share same stage as Mariah Carey after headlining Pride

On Sunday, the English girl group closed the weekend of celebrations in Preston Park with a show full of throwbacks and synchronised dance moves. After taking to the stage, they said 'last night headlining was Mariah' before adding: 'It's a complete honour to be on the same stage.' Just like Carey on Saturday, the group told the audience that the LGBT+ community has always been the 'core' of their fanbase. Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy had the whole crowd bouncing as they closed the show with About You Now, despite some microphone issues. Buena seemed to struggle as she sang the introduction, with her vocals fading out, but the trio recovered well, bringing the curtain down on this year's Preston Park performances. The group referenced their 'long journey', having started when they were around 12 years old in 1998 before splitting and then regaining the name Sugababes in 2019. Images of each of them as kids flickered up on screen accompanied by a voiceover describing their story so far. 'We found our way back to each other,' Buchanan said. They almost forgot to sing their 2025 single Shook, starting the intro for the next song before doubling back, admitting they are 'not used' to having it in the set. According to the BBC, roughly 300,000 people were in Brighton over the weekend. Many of the acts across the weekend have made sure to remind their audience that Pride started as protest, with some making reference to Gaza and also transgender rights being rolled back in the UK. Drag queen Tayris Mongardi, who performed at Brighton Pride this weekend, told the PA news agency that Pride is about being 'present and vocal' while also having a 'good bloody time'. She said that while living and working in the UK is 'privileged' compared to other countries, it is still important to remember 'what we're fighting for'. The performer said: 'Look, we're so blessed in so many ways to have the privileges we do here versus other countries and whatnot but really like it is a protest and you do have to remember not only its roots and where it's come from but what we're fighting for. 'Yes I might be queer and of colour but I have so many trans brothers and sisters, siblings and we're watching their rights actually being taken away – it's about being present, being vocal.' Ms Mongardi has performed at every Brighton Pride since 2017, excluding the pandemic year, and now feels like she is 'part of the furniture' at the event, and said that Pride is about community. She added: 'Protect trans lives, protect black lives, and have a good bloody time you know, we're all fighting, we're all trying to get through the place but have a good time while you're doing it right?'

Emmerdale Dylan star reveals how 'stars aligned' on unexpected comeback story

Back in February Emmerdale viewers were stunned by a special episode which revealed what happened to April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) after she ran away from home. We saw her having a tough time living on the streets and in a squat, and how she was befriended by a young man called Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle), who was also living rough. When April returned to the village, Dylan later came looking for her. Desperate to protect his daughter, Marlon (Mark Charnock) tried to get rid of Dylan – who was battling drug addiction – by various means. Eventually Marlon agreed to pay for rehab for Dylan and the character left the village. Now he's back, and Fred Kettle told us what's in store for Dylan. 'I think Dylan's going to get introduced with a few new characters, including Ray (Joe Absolom),' he revealed. 'There's a bit of a County Lines idea there that we're going to do which has been really fun to play. It's Ray that actually helps him. He sort of takes him under his wing and helps him get away from drugs. 'I think Ray's trying to get him to gain a bit of trust. I feel like there's a little bit of a son father figure relationship going on. So Ray can gain trust to make Dylan deal drugs, basically.' Of course the main attraction of the village, as far as Dylan is concerned, is to see April again, as Fred explained. 'Their bond they had during that special episode, their time on the street, it was so special,' he said. 'They both helped each other get through really, really tough times. And when they parted, I feel like that's all Dylan would be able to think about, you know. So she's bound to be on his mind and he's bound to want to go back and see her.' These two things are quite contrasting, on the one hand dealing drugs for Ray and on the other trying to keep his life together for April. Fred said that Dylan knows that Ray is manipulating him but it's the best option he sees open to him: 'Dylan knows he's doing the wrong thing but it's more morally correct than what he was doing when he was back on the streets.' Whichever way the character goes, Fred is relishing the chance to explore the character some more. 'I feel like there's a few different routes it could go down and I'm willing to take any of them,' he said. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? Fred had some hints when he was previously at Emmerdale that the character of Dylan might have a future in the show, he revealed. More Trending 'I think before I finished there were definitely little talks happening. It was like, 'Oh you could come back.' I was like, 'Yeah I'd love to.' I think it's been perfect, really, because I've just finished college and two days later I was back on set filming. So it was ideal how that happened. I feel like the stars sort of aligned there.' He's looking forward to what's in store for his character. View More » 'It's going to be good. It's going to be a nice journey for a few different characters actually. David Attenborough fans left facing ‘nightmares' after spider sequence

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video For most people, just the thought of a cluster of spiders crawling on top of each other within a large, entangling web is enough to send a shiver down your spine. But for David Attenborough and his latest series Parenthood, which explores the trials and tribulations of parenting within the animal kingdom, clearly, that's not enough. The 99-year-old natural historian seems to be intent on showcasing one of the most nightmarish sequences possible as a 1,000-strong pack of young African social spiders can be seen eating their mothers. Captured by TV cameras in a never-before-seen moment, the premier episode of the series saw the spiders prey in a game of 'grandmother's footsteps' where they freeze in unison like musical statues before eating their elderly relatives. Attenborough explained 'demands of parenthood are finally taking their toll' on the mothers who offered their body as a 'gift' to their offspring before they departed. The atmospheric music, toe-curling sound effects and Attenborough's iconic voice combined to create the painstaking moment. 'Unsurprisingly, the moment left many viewers in complete shock. Oh my GOD they eat their Mum then all their relatives. It just confirms what I have always know spiders are EVIL,' Viki posted on X. 'These spiderlings are nightmare fuel,' Melanie shared. 'A lioness, a giraffe,a hippo & a gang of cannibal spiders, it's been a bit of a blood bath in tonight's #Parenthood I can hardly watch,' Neil added. Series producer and director Jeff Wilson described it as 'probably one of the best' sequences he had worked on in 30 years of film-making. '[I've] never heard Sir David deliver a sequence as good as that… it sort of brings a lump to your throat… he's the master at delivery,' he told the Guardian. 'It makes one feel quite sort of chilled to the bone that you know that your own young could do that. It's an extraordinary behaviour [but] when you step away from it and from the horror of it, it sort of makes sense.' He added that Attenborough was both 'delighted and horrified' by the groundbreaking footage. Joking, he also said that 'there will not be a parent of the land who won't turn up to school pickup without snacks ever again'. This comes after Metro exclusively shared a spectacularly tender moment from Parenthood between a female western lowland gorilla and her newborn baby. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video The snoozing baby gorilla is in a state of peaceful relaxation while lying on his mother's chest, his eyes closed as the forest hums gently around them. The five-part series Parenthood promises to show viewers never-before-seen animal behaviours while delivering a 'universal message about preserving the natural world.' More Trending Speaking to The Mirror, BBC head of specialist factual commissioning, Jack Bootle, described Parenthood as 'wonderful, warm, engaging, and surprising'. He said that it is 'made by some of the very best wildlife filmmakers in the world,' adding: 'I'm thrilled Sir David is joining us again to narrate it.' Parenthood is streaming on BBC iPlayer.
