Diego Luna slams Trump's immigration policies while guest hosting for Kimmel

Andor star Diego Luna is guest hosting for Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week, and his first show started with one hell of a speech.
During the powerful 12-minute monologue above, the Mexican actor discusses Donald Trump's immigration policies, and the state of fear that many immigrants in the U.S. are living in as a result.
"I have never been able to fully understand how it is that someone like Donald Trump is able to acquire this level of power. I always struggle to understand how his hate speech can take root in a country whose nature has always been a welcoming one," says Luna. "Today, many people are feeling persecuted. Far too many people live in fear. Fear of taking their kids to school, or going to places where they earn an honest living. These people, they're your neighbors, your friends, immigrants. This is very unfair, and let me tell you why: The multiple times that this country has had to rebuilt itself, immigrants were always there to pick up the slack."
Luna finishes by encouraging people watching to call their representatives, and to support legal advocacy organisations like Public Counsel and Kids In Need of Defense (KIND).

Trump Family Member Reportedly 'Seriously Considering' Run For Senate

Another Trump could soon be on the ballot. Fox News host Lara Trump — the daughter-in-law of President Donald Trump — is 'seriously considering a bid' to replace retiring Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) in her native state of North Carolina, NOTUS reported this weekend. NBC News' Vaughn Hillyard wrote on X, formerly Twitter, that a source close to the Trump family said Lara, who is married to Trump scion Eric, is 'strongly considering jumping in the race.' 'I'd put it as high as one could be considering it…The race will be over before it begins,' they reportedly added. Tillis, who has come under fire from the president for his criticism of his so-called Big, Beautiful Bill, announced on Sunday that he won't seek reelection in 2026. The lawmaker explained: 'As many of my colleagues have noticed over the last year, and at times even joked about, I haven't exactly been excited about running for another term. That is true since the choice is between spending another six years navigating the political theater and partisan gridlock in Washington or spending that time with the love of my life Susan, our two children, three beautiful grandchildren, and the rest of our extended family back home. It's not a hard choice, and I will not be seeking re-election.' Lara Trump was previously linked to a Senate run in 2020, for North Carolina, and in 2024, for Florida. Last year, she briefly served as the former co-chair of the Republican National Committee. She now hosts 'My View With Lara Trump' on weekends. Trump admin live updates: Senate to begin 'One Big Beautiful Bill' vote-a-rama Monday

The Senate on Sunday afternoon began debate on President Donald Trump's megabill for his second term priorities after a dramatic procedural vote late Saturday night. There could be up to 20 hours of debate. While Democrats will use their allotted 10 hours, Republicans are expected not to. The Senate will begin its "vote-a-rama" at 9 a.m. Monday, during which time senators will offer amendments to the bill. Overnight Sunday, the Senate parliamentarian ruled more provisions out of order with the reconciliation process Republicans are using to pass the bill with a simple majority. If it passes in the Senate, the bill goes back to the House to consider changes the Senate made to the House's version of the bill, which passed by one vote.

Agriculture a 'red line' in trade talks with US, Indian finance minister tells Financial Express

NEW DELHI (Reuters) -India's agriculture and dairy are "big red lines" in its ongoing trade negotiations with the United States, Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman told the Financial Express newspaper in an interview published on Monday. India and the U.S. are negotiating a trade deal ahead of President Donald Trump's July 9 deadline to impose reciprocal tariffs. "Agriculture and dairy have been among very big red lines, where a high degree of caution has been exercised," Sitharaman told the newspaper. "Yes, I'd love to have an agreement, a big, good, beautiful one; why not?" Sitharaman said, adding that an early conclusion of the trade deal would serve India better. In the trade talks, the U.S. is pushing for greater access to agricultural goods and ethanol, citing a significant trade imbalance, along with expanded market access for dairy, alcoholic beverages, automobiles, pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Meanwhile, India's auto, pharmaceutical, and small-scale firms are lobbying for a gradual opening of the protected sectors, fearing competition from U.S. firms. Discussions on the trade deal will address concerns of the automobile and other industries with "deep consultations," said Sitharaman.
