What keeps Nagarjuna agelessly fit even at 65? His diet and fitness routine hasn't changed in 35 years

Time of Indiaa day ago
South Indian superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni, known for his youthful looks at 65, has often been admired for his fit physique and glowing health. Contrary to popular belief that he skips meals, the veteran actor clarified during a 2024 conversation with music composer MM Keeravani that he does, in fact, eat dinner every day—just much earlier than most people. By 7 p.m., he wraps up his evening meal, which typically includes a combination of salads, rice, chicken, and fish. He described this practice not as a trend but as a 'way of life' that he has embraced for decades.
Fitness First: A Non-Negotiable Routine
Nagarjuna's approach to health isn't limited to food. He has followed a structured fitness regimen for almost 35 years, which he attributes as the foundation of his well-being. In an earlier conversation with Hindustan Times, the actor revealed that his day begins with exercise, and he prioritizes working out even over professional engagements. Whether it's strength training, cardio, swimming, or simply walking, he ensures he stays physically active almost every day of the week.
He shared that he trains for about 45 minutes to an hour, five to six days a week. On days when the gym isn't an option, he opts for other forms of movement like swimming—a habit he has maintained since his teenage years.

Smart Workout Techniques for Sustainable Results
One of Nagarjuna's fitness tips is to maintain an elevated heart rate during workouts. He advises keeping it above 70% of the maximum heart rate, avoiding long breaks, and staying off distractions like mobile phones. This practice, he says, not only improves metabolic activity but also enhances overall energy levels throughout the day. His focus on consistency and mindful movement has helped him maintain peak physical condition without chasing extreme regimens.
Food Discipline: Intermittent Fasting and Probiotics
When it comes to diet, Nagarjuna follows a structured and mindful eating plan. He adheres to the 12:12 intermittent fasting method, which involves eating within a 12-hour window and fasting for the remaining 12. His day starts with a pre-workout meal that includes natural probiotics such as kimchi, sauerkraut, or fermented cabbage, along with warm water and coffee. This combination, he believes, helps set the digestive system in motion and supports gut health.
Health experts have noted that many of Nagarjuna's practices, such as early dinners, intermittent fasting, and consistent exercise, are supported by scientific evidence. These habits can improve sleep, regulate metabolism, and aid in long-term weight management.
Ultimately, Nagarjuna's fitness philosophy is built not on extremes but on simplicity, regularity, and making health a daily priority. For those seeking sustainable well-being, his lifestyle serves as a realistic blueprint—one that values consistency over complexity.

Made more money doing this than playing cricket: Former England Cricketer Jack Russell shares the skill that changed his life

Tucked away in a posh lane in central London, Jack Russell is hard at work, not at the crease, but in front of a canvas. The former England wicketkeeper-batter is now better known in art circles than cricketing ones, though his love for the game has never truly faded. As reported by PTI, Russell remains as delightfully eccentric in retirement as he was in his playing days, a man who paints obsessively, avoids mobile phones, and is still not on WhatsApp. The only way to reach him? An email. And if you're lucky, you might spot him at the Chris Beetles Gallery in London, where his cricket-themed artworks bring nostalgic joy to purists and fans alike. He was England's heartbeat behind the wicket for years. But more than two decades after retiring from county cricket, it's his brushstrokes, not his footwork, that get him praise. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 임플란트 부담되서 미루셨다면, 지금이 기회입니다 과잉진료, 추가금액 없는 치과 지금 신청하기 Undo 'I retired from England in 1998, county cricket in 2004, and I've just been painting ever since. It's the only skill I've got left,' he told PTI with a chuckle. 'That's what I do. I just paint, paint, paint.' And he's not exaggerating. Russell has been painting for over 35 years, longer than his entire professional cricket career. It all started during rain breaks in county games. While teammates grumbled, Russell would pull out sketchbooks and paint whatever he saw, often amusing or annoying the dressing room. Live Events Painting Ranjitsinhji, and a Little Piece of India Russell's love for cricket still runs deep through his brushes. He recently unveiled a portrait of Ranjitsinhji, the first Indian to play for England. 'Every year, I try and paint someone from cricket history. Last year it was Douglas Jardine. This time I thought it was the right moment to paint Ranjitsinhji, such a colourful character and a stroke player. It's one of my favourites,' he said. A big chunk of his followers are Indian fans, and Russell has fond memories of touring India, for the Nehru Cup in 1989 and again during the 1996 World Cup. One of his prized paintings is of Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium. 'I loved India and Pakistan. On days off, I'd wander through local markets and sketch people. People would knock on my hotel room door asking to be painted! I'd sit in restaurants, sketch musicians and landscapes, sometimes even paint on the street, though once the police had to move me on, which is fair enough,' he laughed. 'I could paint all day in India. I had such a great time.' 'I Probably Earned More Painting Than Playing Cricket' Some of Russell's works have fetched impressive prices, one from the 2019 Ashes sold for £25,000. But for him, it's not about the money. 'Back in our day, we got paid well, but not like now. Players today, if they play for England for 10 years, they can retire comfortably. But I don't paint for the money. I do it for the love. Still, yes, I've probably earned more as an artist than I ever did as a cricketer.' Watching Pant, Backing Smith Despite being immersed in the world of art, Russell remains deeply connected to the game. He visited Lord's during the ongoing India-England Test series and says he has watched 'more than he should,' often putting painting aside to follow the matches. As a fellow wicketkeeper, he keeps a close eye on the current crop. 'Pant, you've got to watch him, whether he's batting or keeping. He's an entertainer. I'm glad to see him back after that accident.' 'Jamie Smith, I think he could become England's greatest ever batsman-wicketkeeper. He's a big guy, but agile, with great batting power. Maybe even in the Gilchrist mould.' On Pant's wicketkeeping skills, he says: 'He'll make mistakes, there are a few technical things to iron out, especially when standing up to the stumps. But those are small things, more mental than anything. If he asks, I'll happily share what I've noticed.' He also fondly recalls Indian greats like Syed Kirmani and his Gloucestershire teammate Javagal Srinath, 'He could bowl quick,' he says with admiration. Inputs from PTI

Seth Rollins' injury bug breaks the mold of OTC1's much-anticipated return plan

Seth Rollins' injury altered Roman Reigns' return plan: Image via Getty Dodging all the bullets of betrayal over the years, Roman Reigns is back in his power. Just when it looked like everything was settled for good between Gunther and CM Punk, with the latter being on the back foot, the Original Tribal Chief showed up and turned the tables upside down. On the July 14 episode of WWE Raw, the big dog of the yard got a piece of Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, who dared to get under the skin of Punk and Jey Uso following the match. Reigns saved Punk and his cousin, but that was never his main goal to be back. It's always Seth freakin Rollins and his former Wiseman who launched the most ruthless Judas kiss on him from the stage of WrestleMania 41. Then why did the other members of the 'visionaries' taste the king's wrath first? Well, it's Seth's injury that made the creative revise the plan. Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins at SummerSlam was a reportedly long-settled plan At the 40th edition of WWE's Saturday Night Main Event, the injury horror was back. And this time it was none but the Visionary himself. While butting heads in a gruesome fight against LA Knight, the Architect pulled off a Lionsault off the second rope and couldn't retain the balance. He fell on his feet and was visibly shirking his legs in pain, but somehow managed to crawl to the corner of the ring and talked to the medical team. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Villas For Sale in Dubai Might Surprise You Dubai villas | search ads Get Deals Undo That was it for the 39-year-old. Initially, the injury looked a little more serious than it was. Media houses started to speculate that Rollins could be out for a long time, possibly leaving his big SummerSlam appearance in severe jeopardy. Triple H and the team didn't want to take the risk, and right after, on Monday Night Raw, they brought out the Tribal Chief. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE originally wanted to pitch a grand return match of Reigns against Rollins at the August PLE. That was quite significant in the latest promos and hints that were circulating over the months. Everyone seemed to be sold that Reigns would be back at SummerSlam, and against whom was not even a question. But the injury got in the way and put the blood-sucking rivalry to a halt. Now the question is, how long? Nobody really knows. Triple H has already updated the media and the fans that Rollins' injury is still inclusive, and a lot will depend on his MRI report that's yet to come to dish more clarity on his status for the biggest MetLife Stadium event next month. Then what is the wisest alternative for the OTC1? Is WWE scheming a better alternative SummerSlam plan for Reigns? Replacing Seth directly with Bron Breakker looks like the most convenient one. The Superiority of the 'Spears' sounds like a good excuse to lock horns. Also, Bron is in a decent place to secure a one-to-one match with the OG like Reigns. He deserves it, and they will look triggered in the graphics, no doubt about that. But WWE can go for a little tweak as well, tagging Jey Uso and Bronson Reed into the equation and making it a full-fledged tag team match. The only thing that the OTC fans can take a chill pill about is that it's nearly inconceivable that Seth's sidelining will deter Reigns from having his grand match at SummerSlam, anyway. Hold your horses, folks, your OTC1 is on the charge, sleek and solid!
