See Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. Stun in Rare Red Carpet Moment

Yahoo16 hours ago
and Freddie Prinze Jr. stepped out for a rare public date night.
The longtime couple are known for projects like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and She's All That, but folks may have forgotten they first met on the set of the 1997 cult film I Know What You Did Last Summer. Even though the duo (who married in 2002 and share daughter Charlotte and son Rocky) don't often display their love for the public, they had to make an appearance at the Los Angeles premiere for the 2025 movie reboot of the same name on July 14.
Dressing in color-coordinated looks for the event, Sarah and Freddie (who is reprising his role as Ray Bronson in the 2025 I Know What You Did Last Summer film) had fans screaming when they turned up for the carpet. As they posed for the cameras, they looked just as in love as when they first got together years ago. And if that's not enough, Sarah even got in on a joint Instagram post comparing the couple attending both movie premieres, just 28 years apart.
"History repeating itself!" the caption read. "Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. at the I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER premiere in 1997 and again in 2025."
When fans caught Sarah and Freddie's rare public display of affection online, they all bombarded them over how much they still love the two years later.
"They seem like the real deal. They both look even better than they did back then," one person wrote in the comments. "... And they are still going strong ❤️," another declared. "Favorite couple EVER 🥰🙌❤️," a different follower replied.
Even though Sarah isn't making a reappearance as Helen Shivers in I Know What You Did Last Summer, Freddie was ecstatic to be able to step into Ray's shoes once again.
"You have no idea what's changed, what's the same," he told People in July 2025. "You're excited to show what you think you're better at, you know what I mean? You hope they notice it. It was all those things."
We love this for them!

'Invincible' just got a major update ahead of season 4 — and it's adding a new cast member

"Invincible" season 5 is officially greenlit. Yes, season 4 still won't be here until next year, but according to Variety, Prime Video has seen enough to renew its animated superhero show for another season — despite the fact that audiences haven't seen an episode of the show since the season 3 finale. But that's not the only "Invincible" news we've learned. In its report on the season 5 renewal, Variety also revealed that Matthew Rhys will be joining the cast in an undisclosed role — but I think I know who he's voicing. When "Invincible" creator Robert Kirkman's Skybound Entertainment announced that season 4 will debut sometime in 2026 via an Instagram post, that wasn't the only thing it revealed. The post also announced that "Thragg has been cast." A post shared by INVINCIBLE (@ A photo posted by on Thragg is a familiar name for fans of the "Invincible" comics. Also known as Lord Thragg or Grand Regent Thragg, he is the ruler of the Viltrumite Empire. Since his casting was announced, he's been expected by fans to serve as the main antagonist for Mark Grayson / Invincible going forward. It's been expected that a bigger name will be cast to voice Thragg, and with the announcement of Rhys joining season 4 in an undisclosed role, I think we've just learned who Thragg is. To be clear, this is entirely speculation. But an actor of Rhys' caliber would make total sense to voice the villainous emperor. Hugh Hefner's widow, Crystal, files to legally ditch his last name

What's in a name? Hugh Hefner's widow, formerly known as Crystal Hefner, 39, is now going back to her maiden name. She filed a petition in Los Angeles Superior Court to legally change her name from Crystal Margaret Hefner to Crystal Margaret Harris, reported Us Weekly. 'I am a widow and reclaiming my maiden name,' the former Playboy model reportedly wrote in her filing. 9 Hugh Hefner and Crystal Hefner at Playboy Mansion's Annual Halloween Bash on October 25, 2014. In her 2024 memoir, 'Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself,' she wrote, 'I was never in love with Hef, but I loved this old man in the ways you are supposed to love your elders.' I had spent a lifetime feeling small. So I clung to the story I was fed. And it worked — for a while.' She added that, under the Hefner name, she made 'eight figures' and 'launched businesses.' In July 2023, Harris told The Post why she decided to name her book 'Only Say Good Things.' Hefner's widow revealed that she once had 'a conversation with Hef and he let me know: 'Once I go, when I'm gone, please only say good things about me.'' She explained, 'I kept that promise for the last five years. After going through a lot of therapy and healing, I realized that I needed to be honest about my time there. The book is about healing from a toxic environment.'

Does Sarah Michelle Gellar come back in the ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer' sequel?

Warning: spoilers below! And we thought Buffy was slain. Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played murdered pageant winner Helen Shivers in the 1997 teen horror flick 'I Know What You Did Last Summer,' actually has a surprise cameo appearance in the new sequel, in theaters Friday. So, did Helen make a miraculous recovery, soap-opera style, even after being clearly shown as a corpse on ice at the bottom of the killer's boat in the original movie? 4 Sarah Michelle Gellar starred as Helen Shivers in the original 'I Know What You Did Last Summer.' ©Columbia Pictures/Courtesy Everett Collection Nope. Helen, who was fatally stabbed by the Fisherman in an alley as a scream-muffling parade passed by, is very much six feet under. Gellar, 48, comes back thanks to somebody's traumatized imagination. During a nightmare sequence, college girl Danica Richards (Madelyn Cline), the seaside town of Southport, North Carolina's reigning Croaker Queen, comes face to face with her foremother. 'You're the girl from the picture!' Danica, who just got a nasty head injury from the Fisherman before falling unconscious, says to Helen. 4 Helen was brutally killed by the Fisherman, so she returns in the sequel in a dream sequence. ©Columbia Pictures/Courtesy Everett Collection 'I mean, I do have a name,' Helen's ghost, with the Fisherman's hook in hand, dryly replies. 'Helen Shivers!' chirps Danica. The 'Buffy the Vampire' star snaps back, 'And don't you forget it.' Gellar's one-off scene won't have anyone shielding their eyes in terror. The bit is played mostly for laughs. 4 She comes face to face with Danica (Madelyn Cline), Southport's new Croaker Queen. ©Columbia Pictures/Courtesy Everett Collection 'I was Southport's Croaker Queen way back in, well, I shouldn't date myself,' she says. 'Nineteen ninety-six,' Danica quickly adds. 'Careful, sweetheart. I have the hook.' Helen ultimately imparts a chilling warning to Danica, whose group of friends is being chased by yet another bloodthirsty maniac in a spooky black raincoat. 4 Gellar attended the film's premiere with husband Freddie Prinze Jr. Xavier Collin/Image Press Agency/MEGA 'You're gonna die, Danica,' she says. 'Stay in the dream as long as you can.' Gellar's part in the new 'I Know What You Did Last Summer,' which also features her former co-stars Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr., had been denied for months. Sort of. 'I tried, OK? I harassed her! But she is dead,' writer-director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson told People back in April. 'I tried to pitch some crazy s–t too. I was like, 'What if it's like you weren't dead and you're actually alive, but in hiding?' And Sarah's like, 'I was on ice. I was the most dead a person could be. You can see my frozen body.' I was like, 'Yeah, but what if?' And she said, 'I am dead. I am Sarah Dead Gellar.'' Robinson wasn't lying. Gellar's Helen is dead. But it turns out not having a pulse didn't disqualify her from donning her old Croaker Queen crown one last time.
