A spokesperson for South Hams District Council said: "The council recognises the importance of our public toilets to our residents and visitors and our council plan has committed to investing over £250,000 over the next three years to refurbish its 27 toilet blocks."This includes upgrading the sanitary facilities."The council added: "We agree that providing these facilities is important and disposing of the waste safely is equally as important."We appreciate the work that Ms Hey has done in supporting the facilities in Hope Cove and this is a great example of individuals helping support the wider community."

Not only this, but the man's anger has continued to grow, as now the large tree has begun growing into his home. And if you thought that was bad enough, think again, as this anonymous man even claimed that the tree is also home to rats too. Posting on social media, the man uploaded a snap of his neighbour 's overgrown tree, which is towering onto his roof and is extremely close to his window, leaving many open-mouthed. Writing on the r/GardeningUK thread on Reddit, alongside the post, the user, who shares content under the username @Jacktheforkie, explained: 'Neighbours got a massive tree growing directly against my house.' Not only this, but he claimed: 'It's blocking my sunlight and the rest of her jungle is host to a fair amount of rats. 'The rats are digging under and jumping over from the weeds.' And it's not just rats that have emerged, as the man later recognised: 'I certainly get birds, and the grey furry birds with long pink tails.' Unsure on how to proceed and desperate for advice, he then penned: 'She doesn't want to deal with the mess. 'I never see the neighbour, she used to take pride in the garden but now it's a jungle that requires periodic attack with power tools to fight the weeds back. 'What can I do about it?' Newbury leisure centre set for £3.1m energy efficiency refit
A leisure centre is set for a £3.1m refit to improve its energy by West Berkshire Council as a "major green upgrade" the revamp will see Northcroft Leisure Centre in Newbury fitted with air source heat pumps, new wall insulation and solar refit at the centre that has a 25m (82ft) main pool and smaller teaching pool, a gym, exercise studios and heated 50m (164ft) outdoor summer lido is set to start in 2026 and finish by March work is being paid for by a £2.8m grant from the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme and an additional £387,000 from West Berkshire Council. Everyone Active, who manage the centre on the council's behalf, said the work would be carefully planned to minimise disruption for centre users. Residents back home after Southampton bin fire causes gas leak
People have been allowed back into their homes and businesses have reopened after a fire in a bin caused a gas leak in a city fire behind shops on Southampton's High Street broke out on Wednesday at about 19:00 firefighters put out the blaze, they found a gas supply unit had ruptured and worked to help get residents from nearby homes to said engineers quickly isolated the leak by disconnecting the supply.
