He congratulated President Mahama for his victory in the December 2024 general elections, being elected for a second term.
He said the victory reflects the deep trust of the people of Ghana in his leadership and vision.
'President Mahama and I have decided to elevate our bilateral partnership to the level of a 'Comprehensive Partnership'. In Ghana's journey of nation-building, India is not just a partner but a co-traveler,' he said.

'Today, we have set a target to double our mutual trade over the next five years,' the PM said.
He said in the field of FinTech, India is ready to share its UPI digital payment experience with Ghana.
Stressing that development partnership is a foundational pillar of the bilateral ties, he assured India's full support for President Mahama's efforts toward economic restructuring.
India has decided to double the ITEC and ICCR scholarships for Ghana. 'To promote vocational education for youth, we will work to establish a Skill Development Centre.'
'We are pleased to cooperate in President Mahama's "Feed Ghana" agricultural programme. Through Jan Aushadhi Centres, India proposes to offer Ghana's citizens affordable and reliable healthcare,' the PM said.
The two countries also discussed collaboration in vaccine production.
'In defense and security, we will move ahead with the mantra of 'Security through Solidarity'. Cooperation will be strengthened in military training, maritime security, defense supplies, and cyber security,' he added.
Indian companies will collaborate in exploration and mining of critical minerals.

'We are in complete agreement that terrorism is a threat to humanity. We thank Ghana for its cooperation in our fight against terrorism. Accordingly, we have decided to strengthen our collaboration in counter-terrorism,' the PM said.
'Our views on UN reforms are aligned. We have expressed deep concern over the ongoing conflicts in West Asia and Europe. We believe this is not an era of war. Problems must be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy,' the PM said.
On the vibrant Indian community, the PM said they comprise a special link in our people-to-people relations. Indian teachers, doctors, and engineers have long served in Ghana and contributed positively to its social and economic progress. "I look forward to meeting the Indian community tomorrow."

Kharge flays Modi govt over China 'pulling officials' from Indian manufacturing sector
New Delhi, July 3 (UNI) Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge today targeted the Modi government over news reports that China has recalled its officials from India's manufacturing sector. In a post on X, Kharge accused the government of compromising national interest and economic security in the name of foreign investment and policy schemes. "According to reports, China has pulled back its officials from India's manufacturing sector. Isn't it true that the Modi government, having failed entirely on its 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' promises, laid out the red carpet for Chinese companies and eased visa rules for Chinese nationals — all while forgetting the sacrifices at Doklam and Galwan — to ensure benefits under the PLI scheme?" Kharge asked. The Congress chief further criticised the government for remaining silent as China imposed strict restrictions on the export of rare earth magnets and minerals to India. These materials are vital for key sectors such as automobiles, electric vehicles, defense production, and high-security currency printing. 'Isn't it true that the Modi government has taken no concrete steps in response? Chinese officials haven't even granted official appointments or approvals to delegations from India's automobile industry,' Kharge added. Highlighting another serious concern, Kharge alleged that China has stopped exporting speciality fertilizers to India in the past two months, while continuing supply to other countries. India depends on China for 80% of its speciality fertilizer imports, which are crucial for the productivity of fruits, vegetables, and other high-value crops. "Won't this severely affect millions of our farmers, who are already suffering due to a shortage of urea and DAP fertilizers?" he asked. In a sharp remark, Kharge said the Modi government's 'Chinese guarantee' appears to have no expiry date. "Five years ago, after the martyrdom of 20 brave soldiers in Galwan, your government gave China a clean chit. Today, China is fully exploiting that — and it seems we are left watching helplessly," he added UNI RBE PRS

Bengaluru stampede: Karnataka HC questions suspension of 5 cops, seeks govt reply
Bengaluru: The Karnataka high court on Thursday sought an explanation from the state government over the suspension of five police officers in connection with the June 4 stampede outside Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy Stadium, which left 11 people dead, questioning whether a milder action—such as transferring them to other posts—might have been more appropriate. The June 4 stampede outside Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy Stadium left 11 people dead. (PTI) A bench of Justices SG Pandit and TM Nadaf said the state will have to 'justify whether it was proper to keep the officers under suspension, or, whether shifting them to another post would have been sufficient?' The court was hearing an appeal filed by the Karnataka government challenging the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) July 1 order quashing Indian police service (IPS) officer Vikash Kumar Vikash's suspension. Terming the state's suspension order 'mechanical' and not supported by sufficient material, the tribunal had directed the state to 'immediately' reinstate Vikash. It had also suggested that the government extend similar relief to the other four officers suspended along with Vikash, including the then commissioner of police B Dayananda. Urging the court to stay the tribunal's order, advocate general Shashikiran Shetty on Thursday said that the tribunal had acted in haste and had also overstepped in suggesting the remaining four officers, who were not even parties before it, also be reinstated. Shetty said the state was ready to show the court that all five officers who had been suspended were guilty of 'dereliction of duty.' 'I will be able to show from the records that the suspension order was justified,' Shetty added. Shetty told the court that the tribunal had granted Vikash relief on July 1 and he had reported to duty in his uniform on July 2 without waiting for any formal order from the state reinstating him. The high court, however, said it will hear the matter further on July 9 and until the next hearing, Vikash must show restraint and not precipitate the matter any further. Also Read: Bengaluru stampede: Karnataka moves HC against quashing of officer's suspension Vikash's counsel, senior advocate Dhyan Chinappa, assured the court that his client will 'not do anything' until the next hearing before the high court. Vikash and the four other officers of Bengaluru police were suspended on June 5, a day after the stampede. Vikash had challenged his suspension before the tribunal, claiming he was not responsible for the tragedy and that the police had no prior notice of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)'s Indian Premier League (IPL) victory parade, which triggered the stampede. It blamed RCB for unilaterally announcing the event via Instagram without informing the authorities. Also Read: HC allows govt to file reply on stampede plea in sealed cover In its order, the tribunal held that RCB announced free public entry, drawing massive crowds to the stadium, and failed to formally seek police permission or coordinate with authorities for the victory parade and celebrations. The Karnataka government, however, has challenged the tribunal's order claiming that the revocation of suspension of the officers while the magisterial and judicial inquiries into the stampede were ongoing was likely to adversely impact the probes. Vikash's 'presence in service during this period might adversely affect the examination of witnesses' and undermine the process of justice, the state has argued.
