These leopard print Adidas samba trainers are bound to sell out – here's when they drop

Independent06-02-2025
When it comes to trainers, the adidas samba is as ubiquitous as it gets. In the last couple of years, it's been nearly impossible to walk down the street without spotting their recognisable design.
Inspired by an archive adidas football boot from the Fifties, the samba had a moment in the sun during the Nineties, but nothing compared to its renaissance in 2022. The style has since amassed more than 1.7 billion views on TikTok, leading to limited edition drops, the launch of more than 70 colourways and approval from the likes of Harry Styles, Hailey Beiber, Kendall Jenner and Jennifer Lawrence.
Made from full-grain leather, the shoes are characterised by a streamlined silhouette, the iconic three stripes and the adidas logo on the tongue.
But with the sambas reaching peak popularity last year, their star began to fade (after all, who wants to wear a trainer that everyone and their mother also has?) Then, Rishi Sunak wore the black and white pair and it seemed the final nail in the coffin for the viral shoe.
Now, the trainer design has had a wild makeover for 2025. The start of the samba redemption arc, the trainers are returning in a pony hair leopard print for the sports brand's upcoming spring/summer collection. The new colourways will likely sell out fast, so here's everything you need to know.
A fashionable spin on the hugely popular style, the latest adidas samba trainers are designed to be a style statement in their own right. Characterised by an all-over leopard print, the trainer features the signature white three stripe detailing, tongue and heel, while burnt orange laces and panelling add a playful touch. The style is also available in black stripe with forest green panelling (£100, Adidas.co.uk), for a darker look.
If you missed out on the Wales Bonner x adidas collaboration, the brand's latest design boasts the same textured finish and print but will set you back just £100 (the Wales Bonner style is re-selling for upwards of £500).
Launching on 11 February, you can sign up for a reminder when they drop on the Adidas website.

Viral 'bunnies on a trampoline' video is revealed to be AI - These are the subtle clues that give away the hoax

Young, tech-savvy social media users might like to think they could never be deceived by a fake video. But a viral clip showing cute rabbits bouncing on a trampoline has now proven that nobody is above falling for online trickery. The video, posted by TikTok user rachelthecatlovers, has amassed 229.3 million views and over 88,000 comments. However, despite how adorable it might be, the clip is nothing more than an AI-generated hoax. In the video's description, rachelthecatlovers wrote: 'Just checked the home security cam and… I think we've got guest performers out back!' If you fell for this fake video, then the good news is that you weren't alone, as social media users have flocked to share their surprise at being caught out. On TikTok, one user complained: 'This is the first AI that has ever got me.' But if you're still having trouble separating fact from fiction, these are the subtle clues that give away the deception. On TikTok, commenters have complained that this was the first time they had ever fallen for an AI fake First, as the video starts, pay close attention to two bunnies on the left-hand side of the trampoline. What initially looks like two grey rabbits sitting side-by-side, unnaturally warps into a single bunny, which bounds away. A similar transformation occurs with two other rabbits around the five-second mark. To spot the subtle flaw, focus on the leftmost rabbit as it starts to run across the trampoline. The rabbit jumps up and obscures another rabbit sitting on the back edge, which has vanished by the time the first rabbit lands. Finally, keep your eye on the single dark grey rabbit in the middle-right of the screen. Around seven seconds into the video, the rabbit unexpectedly gives up its grey colouration and becomes brownish-white like the others. Although these hints might be difficult to spot at first, once you've seen them, it is clear that this video is a fake. For more evidence that this viral clip is a fraud, you can also look at the other videos posted by the account rachelthecatlovers. In one AI-generated video, a hand is shown injecting raisins with water to transform them back into grapes. Another video shows what appears to be a rabbit entering through a kitchen dog door. However, on closer inspection, the video is clearly AI-generated, as you can see the dog flap fading out of existence. Addressing the claim that the videos are fake, the account posted a bizarre video in which a woman, lit by flashing orange lights, shouts into the camera over loud music. In the clip, the woman repeatedly says: 'Guys, the rabbits are real. D A A R E. Real.' Despite the subtle hints and the account's unusual behaviour, many people still found themselves falling for the clip. Despite these hints, many social media users still couldn't bring themselves to believe that the video was fake Some younger commenters even joked that they had thought only their parents would fall for fake AI content 'OMG this is the best thing I've ever seen,' added another. Even Gen Z found themselves unable to spot the fake, as one commenter wrote: 'A few years ago I was laughing at my mother for believing ai. Another joked: 'I'm getting scammed when im older.' This is not the first time that an AI-generated image has gone viral before the internet realised that there was deception involved. In 2023, Eliot Higgins, founder of open-source investigative journalism website Bellingcat, created a series of AI-generated pictures showing Donald Trump being arrested outside Trump Tower. Although Mr Higgins said that he had made the pictures with AI in his initial post, the images were shared and spread without that context. As the images went viral, many people were convinced that Trump had, in fact, been arrested. Likewise, AI-generated images of the late Pope Francis wearing a puffer jacket were detailed enough to convince thousands of people that the photos were real. AI systems rely on artificial neural networks (ANNs), which try to simulate the way the brain works in order to learn. ANNs can be trained to recognise patterns in information - including speech, text data, or visual images - and are the basis for a large number of the developments in AI over recent years. Conventional AI uses input to 'teach' an algorithm about a particular subject by feeding it massive amounts of information. Practical applications include Google's language translation services, Facebook's facial recognition software and Snapchat's image altering live filters. The process of inputting this data can be extremely time consuming, and is limited to one type of knowledge. A new breed of ANNs called Adversarial Neural Networks pits the wits of two AI bots against each other, which allows them to learn from each other.

Amy, who has children aged between one and 16, took to TikTok to share how she is able to keep her kids busy for a whole day without spending any money. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 2 Amy is a single mum of seven Credit: TikTok/@singlewithseven 2 Her kids love playing with water blaster backpacks from B&M Credit: TikTok/@singlewithseven The single mum revealed that her bumper brood were "fighting like mad" during the morning of her no-spend day, so she got the little ones up and out of the house by half past 8. "We went for a walk for about an hour and a half and left the teenagers in bed", she said. After returning home, the younger kids played with kinetic sand for half an hour, before the family had lunch. After lunch, Amy took her younger ones out for another walk and her daughters decided to take their B&M Water Blaster backpacks with them. The nifty backpacks have water guns attached to them, so kids can have water fights whilst out and about. Amy said she got her kids' pink mermaid backpacks for £5 from the budget store, but online it currently looks like they are only selling Marvel water backpacks, priced at £8.99. Unfortunately, one of Amy's younger daughters was too small for the backpack, but she was happy carrying around a little spray bottle. During their walk, the kids also went to the park, and on a hunt for blackberries to pick. They managed to find a whole bush full of ripe berries, took them home and then gave them a good wash, before making a fruit crumble. The kids were happy and entertained for the entire day, and Amy didn't have to spend a single penny. I bought two splash pads from Temu and TikTok shop for £9.99 for my kids to compare - one of them is HUGE for the price The video, posted under the username @singlewithseven, has likely left many impressed, as it has racked up over 24,000 views on the video-sharing platform. TikTok users raced to the video sharing platform, to share how impressed they were with Amy's no spend day. One person said: "Aw I love this! "A no-spend day is so tough, you've done a great job keeping them occupied!" 'I visited popular London park and couldn't believe how much deck chair hire cost'

A tourist in London filmed herself looking at the prices for deck chair hire in a popular park in the capital, as even using one for an hour can incur a hefty cost A London visitor has been left gobsmacked by the unexpected expense of hiring a deck chair in Hyde Park, taking to social media to vent her frustration over the additional cost of living sting. Nadia Scott shared her disbelief on TikTok, showing a sign in Westminster's iconic Grade I-listed park that listed the rental prices. ‌ "So we're in London and they're charging £4 an hour to sit down," she exclaimed. "You can sit down for two hours for £5.50, £6.50 for three hours and £14 to sit on your a**e all day." She went on to highlight the sea of unoccupied chairs, suggesting most people were too savvy to fork out when they could simply sit on the grass at no cost. ‌ And when asked for her thoughts, Nadia's friend, Molly, bluntly remarked: "You've got be having a f*****g laugh." ‌ The park's signage also mentions a reduced rate for concessions (students, seniors over 65, and disabled persons), and even season tickets for frequent visitors, costing £180 for standard and £80 for concessions. Reacting to the clip, one TikTok user noted: "The bedrock of capitalism is supply and demand... the only reason this exists is because people are willing to pay for it." Another criticised: "Fair enough to charge for the chairs but those particular prices are extortionate!". ‌ And a third disgruntled individual remarked: "I wouldn't mind if it was some luxury chair, leather, Bluetooth, or massage, but they're chairs from the Victorian era." WARNING – explicit language in video below, viewer discretion advised. ‌ However, not everyone is critical of the deck chair rental scheme. One person defended the concept, explaining: "You're not paying to sit. You're paying to use the chair. It's a business and a service and optional." Whilst a second quizzed: "So what's the problem? If its too expensive for you then you're not the target audience. Not everything has to be good value to everyone." Promoting their offering on the web, Parkdeck Chairs Ltd, the enterprise behind the deck chair hire initiative, proclaims: "We believe London's parks are sanctuaries where people relax, connect, and enjoy nature. Our mission is to enhance these beautiful spaces by providing high-quality, comfortable, and sustainable deckchair services." The company further commits to environmental stewardship, stating: "We are committed to preserving these treasured green spaces through eco-conscious practices, responsibly sourced materials, and a service that supports both people and the planet." The service extends to several Royal parks including The Regent's Park, Kensington Gardens, St. James's Park, and The Green Park. These deck chairs are up for grabs from March to October, available during daylight hours, provided the weather plays along.
