Recorded April 15–16 at Tee Line Nashville, the 2025 TCG All-Star Game united the sport's top athletes for a high-energy, two-day celebration of curling excellence, featuring a celebrity pro-am, a skills competition, and a mixed-gendered All-Star skins game.

Elvis Andrus inducted into the Texas Rangers Baseball Hall of Fame with assist from Adrian Beltré
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Elvis Andrus was a 20-year-old kid when he went to spring training in 2009 with the Texas Rangers to be their starting shortstop. He is now in their Hall of Fame. The fun-loving skilled shortstop for the franchise's first two World Series appearances, who became like a pesky little brother to National Baseball Hall of Fame third baseman Adrian Beltré in their eight seasons together on the left side of the infield, was inducted as the 27th member of the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame on Saturday. 'He definitely deserves it. He's one of the best ballplayers to play here with the Rangers,' said Beltré, who retired after the 2018 season. 'He did so many things to make our ballclub better when we played together.' It was Beltré who helped Andrus slip on the blue blazer presented to Rangers Hall of Fame members. They then together unveiled the former shortstop's plaque. 'That was a surreal moment,' Andrus said. 'When we unveiled it, he's like they wrote a lot of things on that. That was so funny, that was so Adrian.' Andrus started 1,605 games at shortstop for Texas over 12 seasons, the most games started at one position for any player in franchise history. He is the franchise leader with 305 stolen bases, and ranks second in total games (1,652), at-bats (6,366), triples (48), and sacrifice hits (100). His 1,743 hits and 893 runs both rank third, and he played at least 145 games in 10 seasons for the Rangers. Texas went to back-to-back World Series in 2010 and 2011, and Andrus remained with the Rangers until being traded to Oakland at the start of spring training in 2021. He was traded to the Chicago White Sox the following year and played his final big league game in 2023. He officially retired as a Ranger last September after signing a ceremonial one-day contract. The pregame ceremony Saturday concluded with the 36-year-old Andrus taking the shortstop position, with former teammates Mitch Moreland at first, Michael Young at second and Beltré at third. They did an around-the-horn throw that served as a first pitch for the game against Seattle, with Andrus wrapping that up with a throw to Beltré that was a bit low. 'He was like, `Man, even when you retire, you don't throw it in the chest,'' Andrus said with a big smile. 'The whole idea of going through the infield with my buddies, that was very priceless.' Beltré and Young are also in the Rangers Hall of Fame. So is Ian Kinsler, the former second baseman and Andrus' double-play partner who was unable to attend the ceremony. There were even a couple of attempts by Andrus to playfully tap Beltré on the top of the head, like Andrus did so often when they played together and it was well-known that the third baseball didn't like that. Beltré returned the favor with Saturday before they unveiled the plaque. When Andrus made his debut in 2009, the Rangers moved Young to third base after he had been an All-Star shortstop the previous five seasons. Young is still the team's career leader for games placed, at-bats, hits and runs. 'He always gives so much credit away. It goes to show you what kind of a person he is, but he's here because he did all the work. He did everything. He earned it,' Young said. 'I can kind of go on and on with the stuff that he has done to deserve this. But again, I think it's worth mentioning because it's so often he tries to deflect a lot of the credit.' ___ AP MLB:

Jannik Sinner won't say why he fired two team members right before Wimbledon
LONDON (AP) — Jannik Sinner confirmed that he recently fired two members of his team — fitness coach Marco Panichi and physiotherapist Ulises Badio, who themselves were replacements for people involved in the player's doping case — but declined Saturday to explain the reason for the change ahead of Wimbledon. Sinner, who has been ranked No. 1 for more than a year, said that he decided shortly after losing in the second round of the grass-court tournament in Halle, Germany, this month to make the change. Sinner has not yet found substitutes for Panichi and Badio, who both used to work with Novak Djokovic. 'Nothing seriously bad happened. They did great work for (the past) three months. Sometimes, things happen,' Sinner said at his pre-tournament news conference. 'The timing obviously isn't the best, but having done a lot of work (together) before, it won't affect this Grand Slam a lot. I feel well physically and mentally and ready to compete.' Play begins Monday at the All England Club, where Sinner was a quarterfinalist in 2024. He will play Luca Nardi in an all-Italian matchup on Tuesday. Last year, Sinner tested positive twice for a trace amount of an anabolic steroid in March; the case wasn't made public until August, shortly before the U.S. Open, which he ended up winning for the second of his three Grand Slam titles. He initially was completely cleared, based on the defense that he accidentally was exposed to the banned substance, Clostebol, via a massage from his then-physiotherapist, Giacomo Naldi. Sinner said his fitness trainer at the time, Umberto Ferrara, purchased a product in Italy and gave it to Naldi for a cut on Naldi's finger. Naldi then treated Sinner while not wearing gloves. The World Anti-Doping Agency appealed the exoneration, and Sinner agreed to serve a three-month ban that ended right before the Italian Open in May. On Saturday, Sinner was asked repeatedly in English and Italian what led him to part ways with Panichi and Badio. Red Sox's Cora says Yoshida set to start rehab assignment at Triple-A
BOSTON (AP) — The struggling Boston Red Sox could be getting some offensive help soon. Manager Alex Cora said Masataka Yoshida would start a rehab assignment with Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday. The 31-year-old DH/outfielder has been out the entire season following surgery on his right shoulder in October. 'He'll go on a rehab assignment. We'll see how many at-bats he needs,' Cora said Saturday before the Red Sox faced the Toronto Blue Jays at Fenway Park. 'He's moving well, the swing feels great, the throwing has been a lot better. He's been able to bounce back, so we just have to map it out and see how we're going to do it.' Cora said he'd also play some games in the outfield. Last season, he was primarily the DH, getting into left field only once in 108 games. In his first season in 2023 after signing a $90-million, five-year free agent deal with the team, he played 85 games in left. On Saturday, Yoshida was shagging fly balls during batting practice in right field, ran the bases while others were hitting and took BP. Also, third baseman Alex Bregman, who has been sidelined since late May with a strained right quad, ran lightly in the infield, and took grounders at third, throwing across the diamond before the Red Sox took BP. 'He's just finishing taking ground balls,' Cora said. 'It was a good day for him and Masa.' When he was injured, Bregman was one of the club's most productive hitters, batting .299 with 11 homers and 35 RBIs in 51 games.
