Improved All Blacks dominate France in Wellington to win series
All Blacks coach Scott Robertson had called for better execution after the tight 31-27 win in the first test in Dunedin last weekend and his players delivered to sew up the series with next week's Hamilton clash to spare.
Cam Roigard, Ardie Savea, Codie Taylor and Tupou Vaa'i all crossed to give the hosts a 29-3 halftime lead before Will Jordan and Rieko Ioane added two more tries after the break.
Six Nations champions France, who travelled south without most of their first-choice players, never got going until the second half and had to settle for tries from Leo Barre and Irish-born Joshua Brennan, son of former Irish international Trevor, after the break.
"We wanted to bring fire in our defence and I thought we did that in most parts of the game," said captain Savea, whose 29th test five-pointer saw him overtake Richie McCaw as New Zealand's most prolific try-scoring forward. "Still, credit to the French, they never give up, they're always there. So I'm proud of our boys for sticking it in and just doing a good job tonight."
"Obviously, really disappointed with the score. We wanted to prove much more today," said France winger Emilien Gailleton.
"But we're going to recover and come back for next week. We want to finish our season with a good performance."

'I feel sorry for Portugal' - Paul O'Connell
Ireland interim head coach Paul O'Connell admitted he felt sorry for Portugal after his side's record-breaking 106-7 win in Lisbon. O'Connell's side, without 17 players currently on British and Irish Lions tour duty, ran in 16 tries in a one-sided rout to eclipse their previous biggest win when they scored 13 tries in an 83-3 defeat of the United States in 2000. O'Connell said: "I feel sorry for Portugal, but we were very clinical and took our chances. "It is a unique summer tour, given the Lions tour is on at the same time, but I am very happy with how our squad applied themselves. Connacht pair Hugh Gavin and Shayne Bolton went over twice apiece on their debuts and there was also a brace each for club team-mate and flanker Cian Prendergast and Leinster wing Tommy O'Brien. With fly-half Jack Crowley landing 12 of his 15 conversion attempts – Ireland were also awarded a penalty try – the tourists also racked up 100 points for the first time. Captain Craig Casey, who went over for Ireland's ninth try early in the second half, said: "Our major takeaway from today is our mentality. We were very professional and played our game to get the result. "It's a shame the stadium wasn't full, but seeing the amount of Irish fans here was special to get the result for them." Ireland had 11 different tryscorers in addition to the penalty try, with centre Stuart McCloskey, forwards Thomas Clarkson and Alex Kendellen and replacements Calvin Nash, Ciaran Frawley and Ben Murphy also touching down.

Ferguson latest as three Irish players star in six-goal display against Wycombe
Brighton put six goals past Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday in the Premier League side's first pre-season friendly - and three Irish players got minutes during the comfortable win. However, there was no sign of Boys in Green forward Evan Ferguson, who looks set for a move to Serie A giants Roma. Albion boss Fabian Hurzeler fielded a total of 21 players during the game, played behind closed doors at Brighton's Elite Football Performance Centre, with the team largely changed at half-time. Andrew Moran was the first Irishman to come into the action when he replaced James Milner on the half-hour. Moran also completed the second-half, while Eiran Cashin and Jamie Mullins also featured in the second-half XI. Moran and Mullins impressed in the final-third, but Ferguson's absence will only fuel speculation that a move to Roma is close. According to reports in Italy, the Ireland striker is keen on the move, while the two clubs are working to finalise a deal, which would initially be a loan switch. Ferguson could be a Roma player by next week, unless other clubs, such as Serie A rivals Atalanta, make 11th hour efforts to sign the 20-year-old. Popular sports outlet Corriere dello Sport reports that Roma's sporting director Frederic Massara is working to finalise a deal as soon as possible.
